  1. Scott Arthur's the labour pick for Edinburgh South West, he'll be my MP this time next year. Yay!
  2. Seemed easier to put it in the net, foul or not. With a penalty the goalies back in play.
  3. Honestly, I didn't see that win coming 75 mins in. Big thing is we didn't make any howlers today which helps. Rumours about Gibson leaving which I hope is false, one of our few creative players
  4. So one of their goals wasn't entirely gifted by us? That's a novelty I hope I'm astonished by the array of quickly gelling star signings next week, we need them
  5. Away to Wigan tomorrow. I'm going to go for a 4-0 away win just to be contrary
  6. Tch, Scotts my local councillor. He's nice enough, but he's really into cycling and thinks everyone else should be too. I'm not, because a) it looks fucking dangerous, you want a city of cyclists, you don't want to share road space with HGVs and w****r van drivers half of whom are banned anyways and b) Edinburgh is fucking hilly, especially the south. I'd need defribrilated if I attempted to cycle up oxgangs road
  7. I watched from near the halfway line. A deflected cross was heading out for a corner. Then suddenly our keeper seemed to swim across the grass, heading to stop the ball going out. He palmed it precisely to a waiting Cheltenham player who passed it across the box for a tap in while our goalie was face down somewhere on the touchline past the six yard box. This all seemed to happen in slow motion, everyone around me was going "noooo.... whaaaat aaaarreee yooouiuuu doooiinnngggg" as he started this manoeuvre For the nth time we're not outdone by better footballers, better athletes, better tactics but by our own players atrocious decision making
  8. It's not like the staff are overpaid. Universities advertise for world-class researchers and offer non-league wages. When we applied for research money they'd make us tot up the total amount it would cost - salaries including their employer NI / pension contributions, eqpt etc and then tell us to add 2/3rds on top so they could take 40% of the total (fec - full economic costing) for lights, heat, office space, ancillary staff, internetz - at one point we worked out Regus would be cheaper - lol
  9. I'd say the right hand side is more Instagram filters than surgery
  10. Anyone earning 80k would be dumb to pay any of this new band, as it would mean they were paying literally nothing into their pension already at a 42% tax rate
  11. Any money raised won't be going on better roads... https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-67771630 10 years is basically the SNP going "f**k it, someone else can sort it out"
  12. Fortunately the cutoff is 7.5K over a basic MSPs salary and the allowances don't count so the SNP holyrood cannon fodder they need to pass this will be generally ok And now we know what MSPs mean by "high earners": "More than me"
  13. Yeh but if you were accused of something that was easy to disprove, you'd do that wouldn't you? Police: "Ye have been accused of murdering John Puddleduck" You: "But he's not dead" John Puddleduck: "Hi, officer, I'm alive" Police: "Ye have been accused of spending 600K that you shouldn't have" You: "But I didn't " Bank Manager/Auditor: "Here's an account with over 600k in officer"
  14. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67730546 We've signed Luke Armstrong from Harrogate Wrexham were rumoured to offered half a million for him at the start of the season but the paperwork screwed up. If we've paid even half of that my jaw will need reconstructive surgery from the speed it hits the floor. Certainly a statement of intent from the new owners
  15. I thought it was SIR STUART WINGS who wouldn't let the issue lie? And now you're claiming the SNP constructed Police Scotland are in the Tories pocket? Arf. As you say it should be easy to trace, but we don't know how well the tracks have been hidden...
  16. So as well as *cough* 'losing' 600K of their own supporters ringfenced donations, they've cost a million quid of taxpayers money which could have been avoided by simply pointing to where that 600K is sitting that they totally haven't misused? If there really was "nothing to see here" the investigation would have been do e and dusted in a day
  17. Rollercoaster game. Should have had a pen was the consensus but shoulda, woulda, coulda etc Much better than the last 2 weeks, needs to keep going in that direction
  18. It does make no difference, you'd make more keeping an idle eye out for loose change on the pavement. Finding a quid rolling on the floor of the bus is more than a fortnights worth of SNP tax progressiveness. Absolutely a PR stunt Ps think you've slipped a decimal point in the other figure, anyone paying the full range of the new tax band would be paying an extra 3% on about £50k, that's nearer £30 a week
  19. Some SNP human shield was on reporting scotland earlier trying to defend Humza's plan by pointing out nearly half of Scotland pays less tax than they would in England They, and their pet BBC Reporting Scotland presenter, however yet again failed to point out that the difference the 19% tax band spanning about £2200 makes can only ever make you better off to the tune of £22 and some new pence in a year - less than 50p a week
  20. A victory for defunding the police no? North/south of the border, there's towns of 20-30,000 people where basically you're on your fucking own from 5pm-9am purge style now SIR KEIR will sort this out
  21. Having a car worth nearly a quarter of the value of your house? That's usually the preserve of neighbourhood coke dealers
  22. That gross 240k will drop to well below half given their pension stuffing, SNP pay martyrdom (20% back to the public purse - still taxed in it?) and most if it sitting in the 42% tax band. Maybe they saved up or have paid off their mortgage. But generally dropping 90k on a car seems bloody mad considering you lose about 25% of a new car's value in the first 12 months.
  23. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/police-investigating-missing-snp-donations-31637216 How do you afford 110k for a motor home and 90k for a jaguar? It doesn't sounds like it was a leased car if he was trying to flog it at We buy any car 160k for her and 80k for him = 240k, but that'll be halved by tax &, NI, then it was shown previously Nicola absolutely rammed her pension with her earnings, plus the weird snp thing of not taking pay rises, it's not loose change they had left over. https://www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/news/politics/nicola-sturgeons-tax-returns-reveal-29144262
