  1. The Star Wars Celebration event in California has a display of some of the costumes and ships shown in the trailer with a few information cards alongside them. These cards are labelled under which side that group fights:
  2. Here's the TPM trailer just to remind you: Maybe it's hindsight but I don't think the tone of the two compare.
  3. Read at your peril.... Again, read at your peril! A lot of that is fairly deducable from the two trailers which show an old-fashioned sabre, the skull and Anakin/Vader's sabre but it is backed up by rumour. So who is he? If anyone's read that waste of trees the EU they seem to be taking inspiration from it despite the stories being consigned to an alternate reality.
  4. I don't think it will ever go away but at least in this case, JJ Abrams has deliberately gone down the route of making it real where possible. There are going to be occasions where that's not possible but it was ever thus and matt paintings were used here and there to create backgrounds that would be unviable or uneconomic. However, Lucas with Episodes 2 and 3 moved away even from his approach to TPM and perhaps those films suffered for it.
  5. A few things will help - more real sets, less CG. Even BB-8 the rolling robot is real. Would have been easier I suppose to have done it CG but they've gone for the real effect.
  6. For those following spoilers, the trailer clears up one thing:
  7. Before they showed it at Celebration at 7pm, they hadJJ and a few of the cast chatting about it. Nothing majorly exciting apart from some new pics, a new planet name and that BB-8 is actually a working robot. Edit: and Carrie promised not to wear the metal bikini...
  8. Wishaw's adding makes it a bit more competitive these days but the group of SBA, Carluke, Lanark and Forth was an annual two-horse race at best.
  9. It's what makes the two League Cups in the West Juniors a bit of a joke as the groups are very imbalanced. Shotts get that bye every year being in a dreadful group whereas the one Pollok were in at one time contained half the top flight of the Central Region (Lok, Arthurlie, Renfrew, Johnstone, Neilston and Benburb - though the 7th team St Anthony's I'm sure actually qualified latterly before they changed it). With my Dons hat on and experience of stale league cup groups, I think the idea is a bit of a non-starter. Cup crowds are invariably pish as they're not covered by a season ticket.
  10. Almost impossible this... In no order: World Leader Pretend Harborcoat Find The River Country Feedback Sing For The Submarine Doing this again, I'd probably put either Losing My Religion or Man On The Moon in place of SFTS.
  11. Felt Episode 4 really picked up. Really enjoyed it. Even Jack Docherty didn't annoy me as much.
  12. All of Jack Docherty's scenes are dreadful. The pomposity of the character is a joke that goes flat after one outing each episode. More of fat cheffie from Gary Tank Commander!
  13. Yeah proximity to Loch Lomond is a good thing about that area but they just seem to have made a meal of it post WW2.
  14. Obviously a wide variety of suggestions for this depending on the criteria. I'll defend poor wee Newton though. Nice location, decent enough range of local shops, scenic location. A few too many boy racers though. I'll also leap to the defence of Lochgilphead seeing as I live here. Beautiful location, even more so when the tide's in. Plenty of services for locals, a few good pubs. Ok, housing's not wonderfully diverse within the town but there are some really nice streets. Dumps I've seen on my travels with few redeeming qualities: Peterhead, Crosshill, Patna, Dalmellington, Tullibody, Salsburgh, Forth, Fauldhouse, the whole Alexandria area (inc. Jamestown and Renton), Port Glasgow, Knockentiber and Muirkirk - it's got a totem pole at one end!
  15. Having been here since 2010, it's a great wee town. Aye it's pish when the mist rolls in but where in't?
  16. Front page news in Lochgilphead this week are the raids carried out across Mid Argyll on seven Indian takeaways, leading to 15 'illegals' from Bangladesh being detained by immigration authorities ahead of their deportation. All three Indian takeaways in the Lochgilphead / Ardrishaig area were hit, as well as those in Tarbert, Inveraray and the two on Islay. With a fine of up to £10,000 per illegal worker pending, I can't see a happy ending. Never made it to the one in Inveraray but they have, it seemed, closed down after 3 men were carted off. One of the Lochgilphead ones had a note in the window stating that for 'some reasons' they'd be shut until Tuesday... Which Tuesday remains to be seen. http://www.argyllshireadvertiser.co.uk/2014/05/16/immigration-officers-swoop-on-mid-argyll-restaurants/
  17. But they'll likely structure it by saying "what were you on at Sunderland? We'll better it!"
  18. Terpstra goes long to win! Wiggo and Thomas pull off a wee surprise by finishing top ten.
  19. So, who can beat Cancellara today? I'm thinking someone from OmegaPharma - Quick-step can do something... you can argue the case for a number of their squad. Boonen's been there or thereabouts in most of the other classics, winning K-B-K. Terpstra and Vandenbergh will both have to go long as I''d fancy Spartacus to beat them in a sprint. Stybar has so much power - his clinching of the cyclocross worlds title in January was awesome - he could be a good shout. I don't think Sagan will be in the final group. Vanmarke was outsmarted in the velodrome last year but I'd fancy him to be up there again. If Van Avermaet makes the final group, he won't win!
  20. Great to see the new site making progress!
  21. George speaks... he's written story treatments for 7, 8 and 9 that will be worked on for future release, starting 2015.
