Many of them will be an upgrade on what league 1 and 2 clubs have and will in most cases be on better money in WoSFL

If you have a good look at league 1 and 2 there filling there squads with development loans from SPFL teams at very little cost to themselves

Can only have 6 max at one time. They also have to pay minimum wage. Think the amount non-league clubs pay is exaggerated. Main benefits of decent players coming down is silverware and reduced travelling, smaller pitches as well. Squads a lot younger up the leagues too. BSC in LL for example 1 player over 30. Pollok have 12.

How does it work in England at non league level who have been letting fans into games for over 2 months now without, to the best of my knowledge, any major issues.

I have been to a couple of games down there and it worked very well. Are we incapable of replicating this, why aren't clubs being given the chance?

There are a multitude of inconsistencies, a major one being outdoors in the open air watching a game of fitba whilst you can be indoors at a pub, cafe or restaurant only 1m distanced, or in a gym or swimming pool where changing rooms can be used. In fact Leitch has already said it's safe.

Whitehill Welfare tweeted last week about all the measures they have in place yet cant let anyone in. They hit the nail on the head.

Are we really going to follow them? As their cases climb and climb?

Nothing there that says clubs are responsible for nutters that are outside RED/AMBER/GREEN areas.

The players need to socially distance in the amber zone and they are under control of clubs.

Also, if these guys watching are inside the ground, how do you make THEM socially distance? That is the flaw in the 'let them in, we'll socially distance, promise gov' idea.

  4. I am pulling this out of nowhere but let's say the SFA manage to convince the SG to allow fans to return at a low level.

What would the odds be on them allowing it at clubs who have an Entry licence first? It would seem a good way to limit numbers and also to have it happen at clubs who have put in place various protocols to even get that far in terms of meeting set standards.

EoS clubs a plenty might benefit there - but not too many WoS.

But I really can't see it - the fools in England have opened up way too much and look what's happened. Jonathan Van Tam writes today that:

We have been way more cautious than them up here.

That's fine but we have people like lockthenow completely slamming us who want to get on with it. I haven't even met anyone that's had covid. I worked in a supermarket through this whole time. The 6 stores in the forth valley area havent had 1 positive test.

If people want to live in fear. If people dont want to play football then dont. It's as simple as that gaz.

Well I have known one well and that person died.  I have known others that lived through it thankfully.

Your government and media paranoia is dangerous.

Well they did noone is forcing anyone to take to the pitch. The eosfl is clearly the only one who are willing to stand up to fear

Open it all up shangri la lassaiz faire don't live in fear. All crap. The next few months will make Mar-Jun seem like bliss.

It’s not as simple as that. I have been involved in discussion around a work place and we were told by a very senior public health official that it could be 1m with mitigation’s (intact he said that it could be 0.5m with mitigation but that 2m was best). The pin all of the decisions on the organisation and risk assessments to determine what is best. If you notice there is not a lot of sector specific guidance out there and there is a good reason for that!!

This mitigation shit is about it not being possible without. In my sector I must remain 2m from adults for any exposure more than 15m. We have a strong union though.

I am sure the rule of 6 doesn’t cover a workplace.

But you do need to be 2m socially distanced from other adults. If the Blackburn dressign rooms can take 9 adults with 2m social distancing, fair play but they must be huge. I suppose showers can be used to change though.

Our home changing area is a good size and they have a warm-up gym attached so we were fine with that, but the away was more challenging.

We had five options drawn up and settled on the South Lower concourse, usually used to house the opposition fans. A temporary partition was installed, non-slip mats rolled out and wipe-down chairs for each player and coach. It’s not an ideal solution but keeps the group in one location in a socially distanced way.

what I meant was it is easier to socially distance in a concourse as opposed to a dressing room, even a modern one.

For those wanting to sit out due to the health risks I find it totally understandable, but those that focus on delaying until fans get in I don't understand at all. How can a club say they're vital to their community when they can just mothball the club for possibly a year or more with no noticeable impact.

What use is a community club that the community can't watch?

Great idea until someone tests positive and five players miss work due to being in close proximity (ala Christie and Tierney)
Few occasions which will happen and they’ll close again before November

Players happy to play, they all know the risks. If it's too big a personal risk they don't play, they're not forced, nobody will hold it against them.

Bit of peer pressure surely? Who wants to be the one that says no?

We have 6 dressing rooms, the 2 senior ones had 9 home players in each, whilst Jeanfield split across 3 youth changing rooms 6 players in each. 3 officials in the remaining one. Masks worns at all times, sanitizers available and time spent in them kept to minimum. Plans submitted and authorised by the league and it all went well.

Appreciate most clubs won't have that but other clubs have been planning use of other rooms to supplement their normal two changing rooms. It can be done, although perhaps not by every club.

Aye, if it's not any use to 'most' it's by definition eh... useless? thanks for clarification though.

Away for a wee while and return to find the West of Scotland League appears to have lost it's head, no promotion or relegation, clubs withdrawing. WTF is going on.

I notice some are talking about no changing rooms being a factor, we used ours today as authorised by the league.  Takes a bit of planning, but it's not a blanket ban.

Someone needs to get a grip.

Has the guidance changed from 2m socially distanced? I had a look yesterday and couldn't see anything updated on SFA site.  Maxwell's message did say 5 people and couldn't be used by any other 5 on rotation. What use is the concept of the dressing room if only 5 people can fit in it? We're not playing 5 a side.

As competitive matches are set to begin. there have been increased requests around use of changing facilities. I thought it best to confirm the current position with you all.
    Scottish Government guidance currently states;
Changing rooms are an area of increased risk of transmission. It is important that physical distancing is maintained in changing rooms and showers and that they are only used if essential. Use of changing rooms and showering facilities should in general be avoided where possible, although these must be available for participants with disabilities or special needs and are likely to be needed after swimming
Our advice to clubs playing in the Betfred Cup is that in line with the above, changing rooms may be used under the following conditions
    • Clubs and facility owners have a legal obligation to comply with all sportscotland/SG legislation and ensure guidance is followed at all times. The checklist and relevant information are all available on our Return to Football Hub.
    • Clubs must submit relevant operational plans and documentation to its League.
    • The League must satisfy itself that all plans submitted are appropriate and meet the regulations and approve the use of changing facilities. We would recommend that Leagues conduct site visits to ensure procedures are as per the submitted documents.
    • The Scottish FA can request site of club operational plans other relevant information and perform site visits at any time.
    • At this stage dressing rooms CANNOT be used on a rotational basis by the same team – ie 5 players changing, they leave and another 5 enter and change.
    • Showers are not permitted under any circumstances
If have attached an updated version of the approved numbers document which was circulate last week.
The fundamentals are the same, however the zoning colours have been changed to better reflect the Return to Play protocol document and the fact that stadiums have a bigger red zone than just the changing rooms and technical areas, that can and will extend into the stand in most cases.
The challenge in tiers 5 and below is that some games are in stadiums and some are not so there is an element of both needed. We are reviewing both to ensure consistency and will advise of any changes asap. These documents should be used in the meantime.
We must all be aware that Scottish football will continue to have positive tests. When this happens, Test and Protect will investigate the circumstances and SG will ask the Scottish FA to carry out an examination of processes and facilities. This can affect us all and it is therefore absolutely incumbent of the league body to ensure that the law is being followed at all times. I appreciate the desire to use changing rooms however football is not ‘back’ as it used to be. We cannot be lax with this and not check plans properly, it is not simply a tick box exercise. The reputational damage to the game as a whole is too significant.

Shotts, Kilbirnie, Nock, Talbot, Pollock:- all the teams who were dead against leaving the juniors?

Lot of teams will lose lot of there players if shut down for year?

Dumb to have no promotion. Can they not put four up. East of Scotland League had twenty four teams in Division one last year. All the teams seemed to like it. Thirty four games not as long as thirty eight and all.

Pollok were not EVER "dead against" leavingthe Juniors.

I’m led to believe that our players want to play and will take what they get until such time as when they can get what they are due. I think it’s strange that the West seem to be holding back while the other regions are happy to get going.

    Each to their own.

Protecting the club's future is more important than playing right now. Maybe the lesser impact of covid through east?

Pollok lost a great man to it. My daughter is currently self isolating aged 2. It feels pretty real to me.

zero revenue is not a great business model as the chap above me says.

I wonder if clubs would be making the same decision if they were still Junior as they will now they are Senior with regards to withdrawal.

Hopefully the clamor to go racing out of the blocks in the new set up (or fear of being left behind) doesn't motivate any committees to gamble the future of their clubs.

With the leagues picking up in a year's time from where they are, what are clubs going to gain from playing through the next six months+ of chaos? Not only the weather to put games off but mini / maxi lockdowns, winter bugs wiping out teams as well as games being off due to covid positives - track n trace is glacial so unless a squad is cleared it's game off.

Well if nobody pulled out we wouldn’t have that! Nobody wants to play without fans but nobody wants to sit it out for 15 months either. Give it a go and see where it ends up.

Bankruptcy? How do you plan to pay your players? IOUs?
