That's strange...
Regardless, it's good to see folks backing the club. The press was saying we're likely to re-sign McHattie. Then I'd imagine we'll start looking into loan deals. Even aside our managers love telling us the budget is gone only to pull in an unexpected signing.
You should have twice the home crowds to us then, we'll see.0 -
I'd be quite surprised. But even then it's plausible. So, good numbers considering Ayr have only shifted about 500.
Actually we had sold over 600 two weeks ago.0 -
Sorry to hear that and Rovers staff are usually pretty pragmatic with things like this. What I can say is that if you phone the club this week they will take what you say on board.
This is actually a situation I'm likely to find myself in this year. My oldest boy is also 16, but as he's still at school he should get a student concession. Of course, schools don't provide ID in the way that Unis provide matriculation cards so I'm fully expecting to encounter many jobsworths insisting that he pays in as an adult, much like you did yesterday. In saying that, the two away grounds we've been to this year (E.K and QotS) have been fine with it, as were Rovers for the home cup ties, although the staff there have known him since he was 4!
I emailed Paul Reilly who tried to defend the policy of 16-18 year old school kids should pay full whack whilst students get in as concession. Quite unbelievable, no wonder people are staying away from matches. That said never had this issue at any other ground.0 -
Can some Rovers fans help out here what age is the concessions my 16 year old son had all sorts of trouble getting in for £7. Do they really want £28 for father and school boy to watch league one football?

We're comfortably the biggest team in this league. You're absolutely loving it that we're back down here, on our way back to our rightful place. You'll get your biggest crowds at Bayview in years thanks to us. I suspect the league may even get more media coverage this season due to our presence. #RoaringBackGive us a break pal, you ain't any bigger than us.

Mvoto is a liability. By the time the third and fourth rounds fixtures came about he'd been figured out. He'll be decent back up for them.
As for McManus, he hit form towards the end but wasn't good enough between October and the end of the season. With that said he had to drop deep and was often paired with Skacel.
So far I'm very happy with our business. Spence and Buchanan are proven at this level. Spence in particular seems to have moved a bit away from the Nando's bants and a bit more mature. We've not lost anyone to other clubs and Smith sounds like he fight to keep Vaughan. I'd imagine we'll hear a few names over the next couple of days.
I don't feel Ayr have a hugely improved squad and Airdrie just lost Iain Russell who got them a decent 18 goals last season. It's going to be a huge test this season for us. We can't get to the clocks going back and start to drop our form. We're all in it together and need to make sure it's positive moving forwards.Your right we haven't hugely improved our squad from last season but by maintaining the same quality and turning full time we should be too strong for all the teams in league one with the possible exception of Rovers.

It's all gone quiet on the Gary Harkins front is he signing for you guys or not?

Just stating a fact!

He's not good enough, if he's your main striker then you'll not a threat next season.

Between him and Geggan your building quite the below average midfield.
If he signs he would be a squad player not necessarily a starter.0 -
Ian Black released by Blackpool then Mike tweeting to keep an eye on the website [emoji102]
Getting excited by Ian Black, dearie me!0 -
Ray McKinnon might be looking for a new job

Take your time boys, no rush season is weeks away[emoji41]

Harkins would a fantastic addition to your squad I for one will be very unhappy to see him leave.

We'll find a way to be worse.
Chin up I'm sure Raith & Ayr will fight out a ding dong battle for the title.0 -
We went from romping home to 4th by twenty clear points to relegated in a penalty shootout by Brechin. There is no lower limit on how bad Rovers can get, and I've got little hope that we've bottomed out, yet.
Yes but this league is gash.0 -
Beyond getting a new manager in, we've got to replace anywhere between half and two thirds of the squad. Ayr bringing in guys in May is hardly indicative of an open market on these boys, McCall will have spoken to them weeks ago. We've got a summer long rebuild to do, one way or the other, and no guarantee that we'll be bothering the top 4 in any case. So in that respect all I can do is shrug my shoulders.
Without doubt you guys will be top 4, almost certainly top 2.0 -
That really is superb news.
I'm delighted about it and means we can now push forward.
I'll totally concede I was of the mind 'Aitken out' after the Bonnyrigg disaster but Aitken and the players turned it around completely and they all deserve huge credit for that.
We were a totally different side after that and I imagine Aitken has learned from the first half of this season.
I'm confident he's the man to lead us into our sixth season at this level and hope for a repeat of our second half of this season, taking scalps galore and confounding the doubters yet again!
I don't understand some fans and every club had them that want managers sacked after one bad result or even a couple of poor shows. Aitken was always a decent manager as was Duffy for Morton when their roasters were calling for his head. Puzzling.....0 -
Have you guys got any half decent players left?

Yup, in about the same way that Ayr manage to find 3000 when they play Killie in a cup tie everyb20 years.
We're talking about league games here. Oh and by the way Ayr have a population of 50K not the 11K that Methil have!

Well they brought around 1200 each time last time, I dont think I have ever seen an Ayr support that big in the past 10 years.
They have an average home support of about 500 yet bring a travelling support of 1200???? Impressive!

No. You won't.East Fife have an average ho e support of about 500 yet apparently they bring 1200 to away games at Raith, really???

Looks like you guys might struggle next season Unless Goodwin has a master plan.

Its a double edged sword and probably depends on how immediate the financial implications are. If we sell these guys then it frees up cash but lessens the likelyhood of promotion. But it all depends on what the club can afford to do.
We will have a derby with East Fife who will be foaming at the mouth to finally beat us. That will see us with two reasonable travelling supports at least.
Suspect we'll bring a bigger travelling support than East Fife0

Nice to see the "big team" had 200 more fans at their game compared to the champions elect.
