Trouten has obviously signed for them but he’s never proven himself in the Championship. He’ll score a few goals from the spot but I can see him being a bit of a let down tbh.
Stewart, Parry and Kirkpatrick could probably cope but there’s not many others in that team that I’d be too worried about.

Right so should Shankland have been fined. Is a deliberate elbow to the face not as bad or worse as a reckless lunge?
You see tackles like Dochertys all the time. Saw far worse in the Livi game tonight.
I was at most games home and away last season and didn’t see any challenges as bad as that. Shankland’s challenge was relatively soft as far as elbows go, maybe red maybe yellow so no fine.1 -
So we should fine every player that gets sent off for us.

Never really amazed me and seems to get on with Aitken, would expect him to sign for Dumbarton.

Agree with this. It's the same problem in every league, it's easier to pick and choose the safe option you are familiar with than to go and search for an unknown talent and take a bit of a gamble. You even see it in the EPL where players and managers float from one club to another. The one that sticks out for me is Mark Hughes who has never really achieved anything at all significant in management yet is still sought after at mid/lower level EPL sides. In contrast if you can cast the net wider you might end up with a Henrik Larsson or Van Djyk like Celtic did and sell them on for silly money. Maybe another Alain Horace is out there, it's up to clubs to make the effort to find them.
Am I the only one who thought Alain Horace was at best rather ordinary and only got the legendary status due to his terrible injury problems.0 -
The only thing about Dundee United staying in the league would mean you would have them, Inverness, Ross County and Partick Thistle potentially.
That's 4 extremely big teams for that league and would probably be your top four.
Then we'll have the likes of Falkirk and Morton who are probably going to want to improve on last season.
Never been to Dundee United though so would like to go there.
I would expect Thistle to beat both of these side tbh1 -

Okay the dust has now settled so I thought I’d add my commiserations to you guys. After last Sunday I know how you’re feeling and it’s not nice. All the best in the playoffs but from a selfish point of view a part time diddy team would be better for us.
Suspect you’ll win the playoffs and end up above us next season!1 -
Really, really hope you guys win the. Playoffs despite the pain you put me through last Sunday. However, your professionalism on Saturday was admirable. I also just think that the championship maybe a step too far and you’ll end up below us.

Forrest and Doc are more than capable at Championship level. Kerr is as well but I don’t imagine he’ll play many games and wouldn’t be surprised to see him as a player/coach.
Hart is young and shouldn’t be written off so early. If he stays and an experienced goalie comes in then I’ll be happy.
Forrest and Docherty were uninspired last season in the championship and in Docs case is injury prone. I am unconvinced but will bow to McCalls judgement. Kerr has been good at league one level but think he’s too old for the championship.
Hart is just dreadful!

Just about got myself together now after pmsl at the Ayr fans meltdown on the game thread and some of the choice comments picked up on the highlights. Hope the guy is okay though because I thought he was having a heart attack at the missed penalty lol.
Well then it looks like we will be going up against Dumbarton as I can't see Arbroath losing at QP. I was speaking to a friend who was at the Dumbarton game on Saturday and he said they were awful and fully expects Alloa to win the tie comfortably. If we keep up the spirit and determination we showed against Ayr then we could indeed do a Brechin (without the no win game season LeodhasXD). Crucial that we do not lose the game v Raith so that confidence remains high.
If you do manage to not lose at Raith I will be eternally grateful and Alloa will officially be my second team!0
