Tide Lines matinee show at The Queens Hall in Edinburgh Wow, every time I see this band, I’m just blown away. I’ve used this section of P&B for years and I can’t believe how little chat there is about Tidelines because I think they’re simply fantastic. This tour took the band to smaller venues, to accompany the stripped back sounds of the songs from their 3 albums. At times, the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up, as the powerful and distinct voice of Robert Robertson filled the hall. The songs were stripped back for fans to hear the finer ‘elements’ of them and to enjoy them in a calmer environment and boy how it worked. Highlights for me were Strangers, The Last Song and Hardly Surprising, honestly unbelievable and if you are not familiar with their work, check them out on Spotify or wherever you get your music from. Going to a matinee concert was a first for me, I actually like the experience and it’s something other bands should consider doing.

I would be absolutely stunned if he did. If he left to go Full Time then fair enough, but surely as a manager, Stirling to Alloa would be something of a sidewards step?? Young’s never struck me as a controversial type guy so I don’t see him being interested, despite being held in high regard by the Alloa fans.

As supporters, we have praised this group of players to the hilt and we’ve got behind them and have backed them in everything they do. I’ve been on here time and time again, full of praise for everyone involved in the onfield department of the team, but today was absolutely woeful. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes, we get no news from the club, so there was maybe injury’s at play, but in my opinion, Young got his starting 11 wrong today and soooo many players were off it. I think he got his subs right, however possibly who they were replacing, slightly wrong. It’s seems confidence has taken a bit of a blip, but Alloa will not have an easier opening 45 minutes this season, and we have the bar and the post to thank for only going in 1-0 down at Half Time, as Alloa skelped them 3 times. Take nothing away from Alloa, I thought they were organised, they fought for everything and they played some good stuff at times and were well worthy of the 3 points but we did not help ourselves. The forever reliable Milne and Hilson, well off it, Leitch well off it and over played it (but how the hell that free kick went against him for his head injury, I’ll never know), Thomson, Dunsmore and Clark as well had shockers…..I just didn’t get it. The lads didn’t lack effort but we were often sloppy, gave the ball away cheaply and allowed Alloa to play by given them so much space, especially in Midfield, and it was as bad as I have seen us play in a long long time, in fact, had it not been for the chicken and haggis pie, I could have cried. We looked like a middle of the road League 2 side today. Pains me to say it, but well done Alloa, Rice has probably bought himself a little longer, however I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this is not the start of the slide for us.
