  1. All over. Only the officials saw that cross the line. This could be half a dozen yet.
  2. The social club at the ground was fine. Crowd milling in now. Not many so far.
  3. So are those three men still alive, did they survive their experience or not? Some sources say yes, others - like the one above - say they died immediately afterwards.
  4. Is there any evidence of Cove wrecking up the changing room at Cowdenbeath last season? Not that I don’t think they weren’t fizzing enough to have done it, I just didn’t see anything written about it at the time.
  5. Cowdenbeath fans in particular seem to be rattled by the likely presence of Cove in League Two. Odd.
  6. Sat watching it in silence with the lights off and found it genuinely disturbing... Then Sky showed the teaser for next weeks episode over the credits and ruined it. Best show I’ve seen in a good while tho.
  7. Martin Scott was signed to flesh out the squad and give Megginson the day off, such as on a midweek trip to Fort William, and to finish off the league fixtures against mid-table shams like Clach and Keith. Cove ran their squad into the ground a couple of years back and ended up with nothing left in Daryl Nicol when they took on Edinburgh City, and have managed themselves better this time round. Whether he’d be a starter if Megginson, Masson, and MacRae were all fit and available every week, I dunno. Nice set of tattoos on it tho.
  8. Hell no. It was difficult to explain to folk how bad Berwick were before the highlights appeared.
  9. Occasions on which Cove have conceded four or more in the past however many seasons... 2018-11-07 - Cove Rangers 2-4 Formartine United (Shire Shield; AET; 2-2 after 90 mimutes) 2016-08-16 - Brechin City 4-1 Cove Rangers (Irn-Bru Cup) 2016-07-30 - Ross County 7-0 Cove Rangers (League Cup group stage) 2016-07-19 - Alloa Athletic 4-0 Cove Rangers (League Cup group stage) 2016-01-09 - Motherwell 5-0 Cove Rangers (Scottish Cup) 2016-01-03 - Cove Rangers 3-4 Inverurie Loco Works (SHFL; played at Spain Park, Aberdeen) 2015-12-27 - Fraserburgh 4-2 Cove Rangers (SHFL) 2014-10-11 - Inverurie Loco Works 4-5 Cove Rangers (SHFL) 2014-08-06 - Cove Rangers 3-4 Turriff United (SHFL) 2014-04-09 - Keith 4-1 Cove Rangers (SHFL) 2014-03-19 - Fraserburgh 5-1 Cove Rangers (SHFL) So it's not unpossible. If Berwick can get tore into them early on, they might lose the head. The game at the top of the list above saw them finish with nine men. However, based on Berwick's shift on Saturday I doubt they've the capabilities to get tore into a fish supper, so it's all immaterial.
  10. If the Colts get in, they’re not getting a penny out of me, and if Lossie vote them in there will be words had there as well. Farcical state of affairs to even be considering them.
  11. I’m not sure they even want to win the league having seen some of their efforts this season.
  12. A knockabout group stage game v Hearts is not one of Cove’s biggest ever games. As a stand-alone tie on a Saturday in the Scottish Cup it might have been. Today’s crowd is 1,955.
  13. The closer it got to showtime, the more panicky Brora got. They voiced concerns about the pyramid but went along with it at the time, like everyone but Buckie and Wick, only to start mouthing off as they cruised to the title. Think it was March before someone bought a map of League Two locations. No one would have thought anything of it had they lost and said nothing, but that’s not how New Money likes to act. As soon as Uncle Ben said they couldn’t afford it he opened himself up to ridicule as everyone knew what the players were making out of the project.
  14. Buckie were the only side on the league to vote against the pyramid and made it plain - at the time at least - they weren’t interested. Their fans certainly aren’t but I think the club have realised the money that’s available trumps the few lousy grand they get for winning the SHFL. The shenanigans at the end of that season over their featuring an ineligible player in a late season game and the resulting fall out kind of sucked the life out of them, tho.
  15. That would almost certainly be easier than anything else they come up with.
  16. There is a will of sorts to change aspects of things, even if it’s only because we realise Fort, Cove, BOD and perhaps a few other clubs are in the wrong place. But there’s only a few. Participation in the Scottish Cup should have been an eye opener for junior side but only BOD have made anything of it. Culter did well in their time in the cup but didn’t kick on with a view to improving towards senior status, and Sunnybank, well. Whatever we come up with will look different. f**k knows what, tho.
  17. Inverness as a town has no real interest in football any more. No junior club, one senior, and one franchise out at the dump. Cove’s ground issues were at least partly their own, in terms of running down their old one to the point it looked like something out of Pripyat, and not setting a proper timeline for their new one. Hell, if they’d even said they were sharing with Locos for the foreseeable future instead of sofa surfing round the north for three years that would have been almost acceptable. The league can rise again but it won’t by letting in Halkirk and Burghead. It needs the 18 currently involved to sort their shit out first, and only then can we kick on with the NCL and juniors.
  18. In terms of making sure their clubs have the best chance of surviving some difficult times in the world of north football, yes, they are. There’s no one interested in even joining the Highland League, either as it stands or in any other shape, never mind ten/twelve/sixteen teams needed to make up a new league. BOD were the big hope for the fanboys wanting a new set up but they don’t gots the grapes for it. It’ll happens eventually but forcing it won’t do anything for anyone.
  19. Cove have sod all connection to Rangers bar the name. And the shirt colour. And the curious sense of entitlement. Aberdeen supporters don’t go to watch them for the same reason they don’t go to watch Banks O’Dee or Culter or Hermes or whoever - because they’re Aberdeen supporters. Sure, you get some strays showing up if Aberdeen are out of town or form, but over the past four years that’s been difficult as Cove haven’t known from one week to the next where they’d be playing. Also, Aberdeen being pretty useful in recent seasons hasn’t helped. Cove did try to go for bored Aberdeen fans back in the day and wanted the HFL to organise their home fixtures around Aberdeen’s but that idea went nowhere.
  20. McManus is there and still features on rotation from the bench.
