  1. I thought he ended up playing pretty well to be honest.
  2. Just realised the World Cup is going to be shown exclusively on ITV. Their coverage is brutal.
  3. Yeah, there were a few Ulster fans next to me and in all honesty, they were total c***s, quite confrontational with people around them and even some borderline racist shite from one of them towards Niko a couple of times. It was quite a significant GIRUY towards them at the end though from a few folk, but if you're going to dish it out....
  4. I was down on the opposite touchline at the try. I've never seen sport so brutal in that build up. The hits were so hard. Cap doffed to all those boys, I played rugby for years but I doubt I ever felt it the way those boys will tomorrow.

Went to see Nick Cave at the royal concert hall last night. It was amazing as always. I wasn't sure what to expect in that venue, especially as it was all seated, but it worked really well. The band (basically a stripped down bad seeds) were so good, and so tight as always, with Warren Ellis seemingly playing every instrument known to man over the course of the night. Then of course there was the great man himself, looming over the crowd and reminding everyone (if there was any doubt) that he's the best front man around. Anyone who's never been to a Nick Cave gig, I'd highly recommend you do it at some point, whatever band he's with. You won't be disappointed.
  6. I saw him play quite a few games for that Indian team and I think he could do a job. That league was much better than folk might think, there were some good teams and players, and Pearson was playing for one of the best teams in the tournament (think they came 2nd). I think he'd be well worth a punt, especially if he's only 32.
  7. Yeah, the letter suggested she must be a lesbian and that's why she was playing up, stuff like that.
  8. Talk about making things hard for ourselves! Game should have been dead and buried until Niko went into full liability mode. I actually thought he was really lucky at the end when the ref let us pull back that quick tap he took at the penalty. Looked to me like he had taken it.
  9. Fair enough. See in terms of the players each team has, are they paid by the clubs independently, or are they all on SRU contracts? Hopefully Edinburgh improve next season anyway. I don't mind admitting I pretty much support both teams, though it's Glasgow when they play each other. I mostly just want Scotland to be half decent again. I grew up watching a good Scotland team win the grand slam in 90 and regularly do well in world cups and send several players off on the lions tours. It just seems everytime it looks like we might be back on the verge of being Ok, we slip back down again.
  10. Something I don't understand, so hopefully someone can explain it, us why there is such a difference in the way Glasgow and Edinburgh are set up. I thought they were both run by the SRU and would have thought they would both have the same aims, but Glasgow seems to have this huge squad of young, mostly Scots players coming through, whereas Edinburgh seems to be a bunch of journeymen from all over, with a few Scots internationals thrown in.
  11. I've seen quite a few Dundee United fans hanging around Cathcart and Battlefield. They do know where the game is today, don't they?

It was amazing mate. He's got such a stage presence, and the band were tight as f**k. Saw them as Grinderman in there last year and that was amazing as well, but seeing big Nick strut around the barras doing Stagger Lee on Halloween was pretty special. I hope I look as cool when I'm in my mid 50s. Alas, I already know I won't.

Nick Cave at the barras tonight confirmed what I've always suspected. There is no better front man alive right now. Absolutely brilliant.
  14. Maybe, I work with quite a few people from EK and they pure love it. They even managed to persudae us to have a Christmas night out there once. We went bowling then to a nightclub called Crystals. It was pretty grim, but I was steaming and had a good laugh.
  15. Yeah, but have you noticed how people from East Kilbride always think it's fucking brilliant and can't understand why we don't all live there too, so maybe it's not all bad. They also love saying "if the weather like this down here it'll be much worse in East Kilbride" and going home at the slightest hint of snow.
  16. Watched the Glasgow v Munster game last night and it was a pretty disappointing game. Glasgow made far too many basic errors, and when Munster got in front they were quite impressively cynical in killing the game stone dead. Niko is a good player, but a few rushes of blood cost us decent positions a few times as well. Disappointing, but at least the game showed there isn't too much between the teams. Glasgow will need to bounce back now though.
  17. How will that save them from choking? Or someone breaking into the house while you are sleeping?
  18. So are you always in the room when your kids are sleeping? What about when you are sleeping? Do you and your wife sleep in shifts?
  19. Sounds just like most of the posts on this thread really.
  20. That was brilliant from Edinburgh there. Laidlaw was absolutely magnificent, great player. Great game as well!
  21. Yeah, and I think they will be challenging this season. They bottled it a wee bit last year. Hopefully this will be different, seem a lot more resolute. It's great for Scotland as well. Lot's of good young players coming through. Townsend has done a great job. Few years and he'll be in the big job if he keeps this up.
  22. yeah, they were good as well, should have won by more but struggled with the kicking. Well on top though.
  23. Glasgow really on the charge right now. Really deserved that win tonight.
  24. Aye, he's a fud of the highest order. It was a joke he was picked ahead of Best anyway.
  25. I remember in the mid 90s I went to landsdowne road for a rugby match with a ticket for the terrace behind the goal. Thousands of drunk fans with no ticket or tickets for other parts of the ground forced their way in there and there was some very hairy moments as a result. I imagine Scottish and Irish rugby fans wouldn't have been villified the way the scousers were if the same had happened.
