  1. Maybe Russell got demoted? f**k knows what's going on.
  2. Officially though, Russell is the AM and Brown and Apalloo are coaches. Annual report: "Stephen Glass was appointed as the Club’s new manager on 29th March 2021, and subsequently introducedAllan Russell as his assistant, along with Scott Brown as player/coach and Henry Apaloo as a coach. The Club then took the opportunity to restructure the Football Operation by promoting Steven Gunn to the role of Director of Football from his previous position as Director of Football Operations. In his new position, Steven is responsible for all of the Club’s football business including the youth academy, professional men’s teams, and our women’s team."
  3. I think they're jumping before being pushed but i don't think it's fear of the report. Johnson already said he would re-organise the staff at number ten so their positions were already in jeopardy. Very little chance they're resigning on a point of principle.
  4. You know that the whole game and leagues etc are all artificially created, right?
  5. Depress you? Those are all those new bands as far as i'm concerned.
  6. I had that Isis lad last year. Fucking shitey CIA 5 weeks too late.
  7. We offered Charlie Nicholas more money than Arsenal did and generally spent well beyond our means throughout the 90s in a bid to initially keep up with Rangers then just to spunk money for a laugh. We blazed a trail for Dundee (Ravanelli and Caniggia ffs) and Motherwell to follow, and others to lesser extents. We were also AIM listed for a while. The other clubs outside the establishment clique all voted for a quick buck over long term security to go for setanta. Then there's the LSC being bankrolled by pensions stolen by a bond baddie.
  8. Century of the self is his best imo. Bear in mind he's more story teller than documentarist.
  9. That season was bookended by admin for Motherwell (late in previous season) and Dundee (a bit into the next) and marked the start of a period of austerity/Steve Patterson at Pittodrie. The highest average attendance outside the OF was Hearts with under 12k. Rangers were already reported to be £80m in debt and only surviving due to the forbearance of BoS. Here's a bit from the official spfl site's review of that season and probably a good indication of what that organisation thinks matters: "The 2002/03 season was arguably the most exciting ever and was certainly the closest in recent years with Rangers and Celtic both going into the final game level on points. "
  10. The Savile thing is all over the papers. Facts are unimportant. Thick people will associate Starmer with one of Mrs Thatcher's numerous paedo mates who she got knighted. Labour loves paedos. Good old Boris.
  11. Are you suggesting 1986 was the last serious non OF challenge for the league?
  12. Refusing to take your seats works best alongside a prolonged campaign of mass murder.
  13. 2 European trophies please. If i remember the Bbc series Scotland's Game correctly, their narrative was that Scottish football was in the doldrums until Souness got hold of Murray's credit card.
  14. I don't think he's going to. This is a big learning season for Dave. He's getting evidence that his ideas for how to improve things aren't as great as he thought. How he reacts to that evidence will determine how successful we are for the next decade or so. I'm hopeful that he will have enough sense to not delude himself and will do positive things. A bit worried that he won't but we'll see.
  15. I like your Adam Curtis style interweaving of a few select simplified narratives. Particularly linking the increase in inequality between clubs and players with the neoliberal consensus.
  16. Every day is a schoolday on p&b. Genuinely didn't know that and find it a bit worrying. It also sounds like a bit of a challenge. Might have to be one for retirement though.
  17. I expect they keep nudging the treasury to give them more money. Most of their output is really dull and not that sinister, like making websites more intuitive. Only about 60-100 years behind commercial advertising in manipulation.
  18. What's the criminal offence here? Is being offensive criminal now?
  19. I also liked it when he said he didn't want to be Boris' friend.
