  1. Ha ha good one Giving the state's money to your rich mates while placating the mob with bread and circuses is not socialism. The government isn't spending to support incomes or improve quality of public services. It is spending to support capitalism through a crisis. The Tories only supported free markets when they helped enrich the rich. They have no ideology other than maintaining privilege. Johnson is not a temporary aberration of conservatism. He is conservatism.
  2. They've seen how much Donny got away with in the states and how much more of a servile media they have here and have decided to rip the absolute piss in the full knowledge that half of people don't care and half of those that do are on their side.
  3. I think you may have missed the “point” of that placard.
  4. I thought it was an ounce of hash? Learn something new every day.
  5. Eternals- some immortal superheroes from space in CGI action. Was ok. The action scenes were disappointing but the CGI was pretty good for recreating historical locations, which were the best bits imo. Even by MCU standards the plot was a bit silly and the characters really 2d, probably because there were too many. Some of the comic relief was good though and i think that saved it from being a DC style turkey. 6/10 - just.
  6. They made their own flag, so i guess they 'll sort out their own trophy too. Should be able to pick up a reasonably priced one with a wee golfer on the top in Barnardos.
  7. That was the one game where Vyner and Leigh looked like midfielders wasn't it. We've gone from having no recognised CMs in the team for that game to six for this one.
  8. I don't have the twitter so I'm probably missing a whole load of party political backbiting, but has he not been a longtime active member of the Tax Justice Network and the main force behind the Good Law Project? Each of those have done more to rein in the Tories over the last 11 years than most Corbynites will ever do. Plus that fox was asking for it by all accounts.
  9. It certainly looks like SPFL's view wasn't upheld. The timeline and events look plausible. No idea why you think an exclusivity clause would be enforceable off the back of this decision. No-one doubts that the SPFL are buffoons. Their buffoonery doesn't make Rangers right.
  10. Tim Horton sounds like he would be a smug p***k with a tucked in cardigan and a really clean car. Not going to that guy's shop.
  11. If you can go private, should you? Had an interesting discussion / argument about private education at work last week. A woman whose kids are privately schooled pointed out that parents paying fees saves the state having to pay for them. Fair point, but not the whole argument imo. Heard similar from people paying to queue jump for elective surgery. Less fair point imo. The one that's causing me a moral dilemma is way more trivial. The library book i have at the moment has a waiting list so is obviously in demand but my return date keeps extending due to covid provisions. So i'm stopping someone reading a public book i could afford to buy. Makes me wonder if i should even use the library - i've always thought it's use it or lose it. Who would or does go private or stay council, and what's your thought process?
  12. I have a cringe reflex to players being described as "the scottish...." since Darren Mackie got called the Scottish Michael Owen. I love Mackie but that was misplaced hype.
  13. I'm probably scarred by the years of hearing how much good work our strikers were doing without troubling the net.
  14. Is 12 in 36 a big scorer? I hope not Bob, or you've put your foot in it there.
  15. If it's either or, I'd take a 20 goal a season poacher over a five to ten goal workhorse any day. We can't really afford a goal machine that does much else, so at our level it is one or the other. He was found wanting when Derek inexplicably decided to deploy him wide left on several occasions though.
  16. Why not, you've just imagined the SNP commiting enviro PR hari kari.
  17. Reminds me of the proportionate and sensible anti sculpture measures taken earlier this year
  18. What's better about scoring fewer goals? It's literally the point of a striker. Absolute madness.
  19. I used to think Paul McStay and Barry Ferguson (at first) were hugely overrated and did nothing but pass sideways. When i was younger i'd rate midfielders by mazy dribbles or 30 yard screamers, maybe the odd defence splitting pass. As i got older i did start to appreciate the value of a sideways pass, or more specifically being available to take the ball and keep possession and changed my opinion on Barry as a player. Maybe i was wrong about McStay too. I also used to think they were both wankers and haven't had any cause to revise this opinion.
  20. That's where Insulate Britain are now. That's a rock and a hard place for the Gammon population. who to back in a scrap between IB and the Argies?
