  1. Nope just appoint me as king. I have excellent judgement and will act in everyone's best interests. Honest.
  2. The civil service run the country. MPs just make that more difficult
  3. I'm sure a lot of money would get spent on players. But these wouldn't be the same players we have now, they'd be a little bit better, raising standards. Some money would get spent on facilities. We recently spent a fortune on training grounds as have Hibs and Rangers in the last 15 years. Hearts spend a fair bit using top quality facilities. Probably others too. Not sure why having the option to do more of that would be a bad thing. No chance of it being used to keep ticket prices down imo. More chance this report will suggest putting up some prices.
  4. Only from the cabinet though. They will have to make do with about 3 times median salaries now. Plus any committee pay. And get their mortgage paid. Plus turn up whenever they like while working as directors for city firms. I 'd love to get sacked like that.
  5. Of course they do. "Brain Drain" is a major barrier to development in the third world. It's far from being an unconditionally good thing to import highly skilled labour. Flounce off all you want and take your pretend moral high ground with you.
  6. Double checked my info- it was spun off Love, American Style. It could be both spun off that and inspired by American Graffiti at the same time i suppose. While checking, i was reminded of the other Happy Days offspring: If i remember right Fonzy had magic powers when he clicked his fingers and went "heeeeeyyyyyyy" . I think he stopped a flash flood, or a wave or something once.
  7. Correct f**k poor countries. They shouldn't have any medical staff if they can't be bothered having lots of money.
  8. Happy Days was a spin off itself apparently. Can't remember what of, nothing well known here though.
  9. "In tonight's sportscene we have Atlantic League action as Rangers host Rosenborg and Celtic are away to Bruges! Followed by all the goals from the spl including the final day title decider."
  10. Order less egg, more fibre and there won't be enough time for it to get cold.
  11. It's not exactly going to impact their votes from either radical islamists or human rights enthusiasts is it?
  12. Can someone please film this. One thing more tinpot than proposing a mass walkout will be watching the majority of fans not walking out.
  13. What i'd like to see compared to what i anticipate Commercial growth : Like- foolproof plan to double tv deal. Also include 2nd tier highlights and seaside goals +selected highlights on Sportscene for extra £53 per year. Expect- lots of graphs, waffle. Brand Like-to not copy England Expect- to not copy England Structure Like-More centralised commercial activity. More co-operation and central talent management Expect- loads of charts with coloured boxes and block arrows saying things like "stakeholders", recommendation for wholesale management structure reorganisation (without explicitly saying "pay deloitte for further details") Strategic projects Like- don't understand the question to be honest Expect- another cross selling and upselling opportunity with more waffle. The biggest winner out of this will be Deloitte, odds on.
  14. Really looking forward to Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers. There was a talking horse in the trailer.
  15. I wasn't suggesting that we had upgraded, only that we'd need to to play like we'd said we would.
  16. McInnes squad was basically spent. There was nothing left to build on. Apart from Lewis, Ferguson, Considine and Hedges, maybe McCrorie. That's a rebuilding job in anyone's language. No-ones building an entertaining, OF challenging team on a base of Gashton and Kennedy. I think Glass has hired well in terms of the standard of player but not in the balance of the squad. Remains to be seen whether he has any real tactical nous. I think he deserves until next year unless we're in a relegation battle. More to the point i think he'll get until next year because Davy has bet big on him. Agree that the jury's out though.
  17. Not enough. Hit a saucepan with a spoon if you really want to help
  18. Geek alert: Your point about PAYE rates compensating for NI rises is a bit off in that pensioners and landlords would benefit as much as workers and (i think) the larger revenue loss would be ring fenced for Scotland. I'd expect a large part of the reason that private health insurance seems comparatively cheap is that you are healthy and relatively well off. If you'd a pre-existing condition you'd pay for it (or not be covered). Well off people tend to have fewer health issues, with causality running both ways. So if you can afford the premiums you're less likely to need it. It seems really unlikely that it's an efficiency saving on a like for like basis. I'd be interested to know what happens when a pvt policy comes up for renewal if the insured person has developed something serious, chronic or terminal. Honestly don't know but i'd expect a large slice of tough shit to be involved.
  19. I wasn't having a go at people liking it, i just don't find it funny.
  20. I actually succeeded with an appeal on one of these at the first attempt. They'd photographic evidence of me entering the Range car park at 18.30 on a Thursday and leaving at 13.30 on the Friday and thus exceeding the two hour maximum. I just explained that these were two separate visits. Kind of feel like i shouldn't have even bothered doing that much but on the other hand i'm not worrying about it now.
  21. In counterpoint to the views expressed above i found Ladhood to be self indulgent and self important shite that raised one single laugh over three episodes (that's all i'm watching). I agree it's really well observed and the characters seem well rounded but it completely lacks any humour.
  22. "Beer will taste as it used to again" None of this nice tasting shite from the continent.
