  1. Plusses Signings, individually, look decent (maybe not Gurr, tbc). Giving youth a chance, properly. Playing some decent attacking football. Entertainment! Minuses Liable to concede really easily. Starting with four central mids for a second time when it clearly didn't work before. Still no plan to break down solid defences. It’s still early days. MacCormark is invested in Glass so he's going nowhere this season. Enjoy the roller-coaster
  2. You're probably right. I haven't seen either of them i don't think. But it's not really how good they are that worries me, it's our defence.
  3. Deep Space 9 as well Deep space 9 was the best out of all Star Treks. It had a guy whose head was shaped like an arse, which was quite funny and therefore one redeeming feature more than the rest had between them.
  4. Funnily enough when i saw this poster in the cinema my first thought was "who's meant to be the baddie? He's supposed to be a fat ugly b*****d"
  5. Not quite hitting the panic button but shiteing it about playing the cheeks. Fearing some skovdahl era style doings.
  6. It took me a while to remember who Longstaff was. I initially thought the first post was a joke suggestion that a Motherwell player should play for us.
  7. The wife is ill and was planning to call the doctor yesterday. I asked if she'd got antibiotics. 15 solid minutes barely taking breath about a malfunction with the telephone queuing system, about how she had to send a photo but mostly about what she would have said in the event that the doctor had said something different from what the doctor had actually said, branching off into entirely hypothetical conversations in which she was outraged by the (completely imaginary) medical incompetence. I didn't even care if she'd got antibiotics and was only feigning an interest to keep her happy. Not gonorrhoea or anything before you start.
  8. Thanks Doctor M. I expect Motherwell to score. All depends whether we can score more.
  9. If you're going to slander us ahead of the game at least start a match thread and do it to our faces.
  10. They're hardwired by evolution to chatter like baboons. The content is unimportant but just the act of chatter strengthens group bonds. Men generally can't understand because we're hardwired to use talking to convey useful information, for hunting and gathering and stuff. That we often speak shit isn't the point. She's thinking "we had a lovely chat, spoke for ages" while you're thinking "thank f**k, she's finished. Wtf was that all about?" My tactic is to smile, nod and occasionally say "oh, i know" or "never!". On the rare occasions when she's been saying something of substance i've been caught out but i can usually tune out for maybe 15 minutes at a time no bother.

  12. Sounds likely but it's best to check. It's usually "any reasonable route" and i often take a similar detour at the other end of the Uk. It might even be cheaper to get three singles because city to city are the premium routes and no-one in their right mind wants to get off at Kirkcaldy.
  13. They fund it through a trust thst runs it independently apparently. The councilors were very clear about that, as i would be if i was in an ethnic minority and being blamed by a stupid angry mob for spoiling their racist fun.
  14. I'm not overly familiar with his ouevre but if the people who run the theatre want to him to f**k off then i don't think the state should interfere with their right to free speech.
  15. Coronation Street Eastenders Wrestling Any award show, especially children of courage (or whatever it's called) Any pretend fly on the wall thing featuring attention seeking narcissists (geordie shore etc) Minor celeb vehicle travelogues. True crime Anything about surgery. Bbc breakfast I'm sure i've missed loads
  16. From Pitchbook Over the past decade, PE firms have piled into a sector beset with financial stress brought on by the global financial crisis. Government austerity measures decimated local budgets. Between 2010 and 2018, public spending on adult care fell by £700 million, and the cost of care rose 6.6% from 2015 to last year, according to The King's Fund, a health-care think tank. Private equity investors sensed the potential for high returns in a traditionally stable sector serving an aging population. Since 2010, PE firms invested more than £1.7 billion across 64 retirement and nursing homes deals, according to PitchBook data. Today more than 8 in 10 nursing homes in the UK are owned by for-profit operators, according to research by the Institute for Public Policy Research.
  17. I'd like to live for several thousand years if possible please. If physics boffins are right, entropy will result in the universe gradually turning into a bland soup of particles slowly cooling to absolute zero. Going before that would be a good plan.
  18. If those figures are anything like correct they're a fairly good demonstration (not that one was needed) that the tax burden is determined by what will lose least votes. I think the tax rise applies in Scotland and Wales but the spending is ring fenced for England. As long as overall spending increases by the ring fenced amount Scotland should benefit because the Barnet formula allocates Scotland's budget as a % of the overall spend.
  19. I get bpth sides of the argument there. But as it stands, Hanley wins out on experience and current, consistent form It's not really an argument. Hanley should play when available but he's out for Israel after his dodgy booking isn't he?
  20. He got a shot on goal while breaking at pace. I believe that's the new benchmark for a Scotland quality right back? Did i get that wrong?
  21. McKenna in for Hanley for me. Gallagher has been less than stellar this season and i don't see cooper as bringing the same aggression. The criticism that McKenna gets on here reminds me of the criticism Hanley got back in the day.
