  1. I used to drive home from Westhill direction to Kingswells (until November last year) and there were significant queues some days. I still do it around one day a week and don’t notice much difference to my journey time. It was also often queued at least half way back to Westhill in the mornings when I was driving the other way.
  2. Regardless of whether you are for or against the stadium, away fans shouldn’t be taken into consideration. Have you seen how many turn up at Pittodrie?
  3. Personally I am just looking forward to going to a decent stadium
  4. A lot of sensible posts on this thread. Great to see.
  5. Keep seeing this word “ambition” mentioned on social media which as far as I can see then leads to lots of talk about how we should be overspending
  6. I think that is it. Standards have risen so much that a season of performing to budget (hopefully) in the league and actually better than budget in the cups is seen as a disappointment. I personally feel Mcinnes deserves to get his hands on the new training ground and think we have his contract situation about right currently.
  7. I would expect to look at the table and see us in the bottom 6 judging by social media. Some misgivings would be fair enough but it has gone well beyond that. There seems to be a general consensus that Mcinnes can be easily replaced by a manager who will win trophies regularly.
  8. The same rivals we comfortably finish above every season? I keep hearing how our rivals do everything better than us but results suggest the opposite.
  9. I don’t agree. We are well covered in defence and even with a lot of injuries/suspensions we have not conceded many. In midfield we have enough options for the two sitting Mcinnes likes to play. Wingers we are a bit short with Mcginn getting old/injury prone but Ross seems to have stepped up. Wright also had a good game behind the striker but we could do with someone else for that position as playing Ferguson along with Gleeson and Shinnie/Ball reminds me a bit of Flood, Jack and Robson playing together. Up front I would like to see more of Anderson and May seems to be playing a bit better. Cosgrove I am rapidly of the opinion he is nowhere near Aberdeen standard. Not seen enough of Wilson to have any opinion. Overall I think we will be at least 3rd.
  10. Quite happy for the hype to be on other teams as usual. Amazing to think we have finished above all of these better teams the last few seasons
  11. Scott Wright is nowhere near good enough. I used to think Mcinnes didn’t play young players enough but tend to find myself agreeing with him these days. I would rather finish high up the table than play young players who are not good enough.
  12. Hearts average attendance at Tynecastle this season 16640 compared to 15730 for Aberdeen. Considering the extra away fans they allow and get at Tynecastle, I fail to see how they get 3500 more.
  13. When was the last time Hearts had more than about 16000 home fans inside Tynecastle? Their whole fan base bought seasons tickets when they were nearly liquidated. They have to give away teams a whole stand to sell out their ground and even then that isn’t always enough
  14. Not sure I agree. Our away support are at their best when a lot of fans travel from Aberdeen. The games when not many buses are running from here are the games when there are a lot of central belt fans sitting down and there is no atmosphere.
  15. 16k ticket sales which is the method Hearts have been using to count attendances for over 10 years.
  16. They don’t sell out most weeks. They get 16k home fans on a good day.
  17. Pittodrie certainly isn’t an attractive prospect for those outwith the core support. I think attendances will increase at the new stadium but nobody really knows one way or the other. The one way to reduce our revenue is to build a stadium like Tynecastle that doesn’t even have any boxes.
  18. We already make millions a season from corporate activities which gives us a much higher turnover than Hearts.
  19. England will probably be saved by bad light.
  20. Hibs give away fans just under 4000 tickets for most of these sell outs. Even the Patrick game only had 16000 home fans. Meanwhile our sell outs range from having 18000-20000 home fans.
  21. Millions of our revenue comes from the RDS. It is the reason we have millions more money than the likes of Hearts. A ground of bus shelters with no revenue streams would not have been any use. We should have probably redeveloped at the time we owned the land but not with bus shelter stands.
  22. Falkirk didn't even sell out their allocation at Tannadice last week. I don't see a problem with teams attempting to gain home advantage. Falkirk could easily have given United say half the stand if they wanted to. In general, I would be in favour of an minimum percentage of capacity for away fans for all league games rather than the current "reasonable allocation" rule.
  23. Rooney better than McGinn Rooney has scored 4 league goals from open play this season and even that is generous considering one was the rebound from a missed penalty McGinn has scored 6 from open play before you even consider what else he offers considering he is a winger. I know which player I would rather keep.
