  1. We may have benefited from it yesterday but for me VAR is still bad for the game. I struggled to celebrate our second goal due to the fear of it being chalked off for one reason or another. if we can get to a point where the offside technology is instant then I could probably accept it.
  2. Just back from Tenerife. Spain insist masks are mandatory on planes to and from the country but not even the staff wearing them. In the country itself, most taxi drivers didn’t require masks despite them being mandatory however they were strictly enforced by bus drivers although half of the passengers were lowering them below their nose as soon as they sat down.
  3. Was November 2014 we cut it. Current allocation about 1700.
  4. There were red flags for me last season with Goodwin’s failure to have any positive impact. A bit too early to be sacking him yet but if we are not in the European places come the world cup, I would like to see him removed.
  5. I seem to remember Nicola confirming her commitment to the aim of elimination long after 2020 but correct me if I am wrong. That is before you even get to the disproportionate and damaging restrictions maintained by the Scottish Government beyond the summer of 2021. The Christmas shutdown and masks in schools being just two examples of the worst of it. At every step the SG called the UK government “reckless” but always had to backdown eventually (along with other countries) when reality struck.
  6. I am not complaining about Miovski starting but the subs have been very questionable.
  7. One of my frustrations is Goodwin freezing out the likes of Ramirez and Lewis in favour of seemingly inferior players. He seems to make his mind up on a player and that is it.
  8. I concluded Goodwin wasn’t the man for the job after his failure to have a positive impact last season. I am sticking to that opinion until he hopefully proves me wrong.
  9. Up to over 200000 now. Remind me again why over 100 years of research on masks was chucked in the bin?
  10. Saying “so be it” if lockdowns are needed
  11. Think it definitely depended where you live. Around here masks were above 95% until a few days before 18th April. Was in Tesco tonight and didn’t see one mask.
  12. I simply wouldn’t give my business to anywhere mandating masks.
  13. Would be good if everything from masks to stay at home orders was reviewed with regards to what worked in order for any future pandemics to be managed in a proportionate way.
  14. Was at the Westhill shops earlier and was surprised to see the number of people not wearing masks, considering the near 100% compliance around here previously. Thought it would take at least a few weeks for people to ditch them.
  15. It is an interesting one. Is there a loophole in the law which allows masks to be removed for a selfie? I am going to guess her defence will be she was wearing one except when she was asked for a photograph.
  16. Nicola in a barber shop yesterday where none of the staff or customers were wearing masks? What was that about?
  17. Not strictly true. Masks will still be mandatory on public transport, including taxis.
  18. What is the reaction from staff? It seems many will soon be in a position where masks will be mandatory at work/school but not anywhere else.
  19. I think we will get Europe if we make the top 6. The difficult bit is winning the next two games.
  20. I think that is part of the plan. That way they can say afterwards the cases fell as a result of their proportionate action.
  21. The SG have really cornered themselves in here. Either they remove the remaining restrictions with almost record high cases (which goes against the image they have tried to create for 2 years) or they keep them in place which would make Scotland a bit of an outlier. Of course, all this could have been prevented if they just removed the restrictions at the end of February.
  22. The ONS figures are taken from testing random samples of the population in each part of the UK. They are not affected by people reporting tests.
  23. Twitter is full of people replying to tweets about the ONS figures to say England’s rate is lower than reality due to a lack of testing
  24. How much do we reckon keeping free testing going would cost Scotland? Is it a realistic possibility like Nicola tweeted when it was first mooted free testing would end? Genuinely interested.
