I certainly have emailed my club.

Is there anybody on here with any behind the scenes insight at a club? I know it was previously rumoured Aberdeen said they would vote against VAR if there was ever another vote on it but if that genuinely is their view, they need to come out and say it.

So the results are conclusive. Surely clubs can’t continue to ignore the feeling of fans. Somehow we need to make it known.

Simple question. Would you like to see VAR remain part of Scottish football next season?

Another day of waiting for a ref with his finger in his ear today numerous times. Some in recent weeks have gone for us and some against but that is not the point. Football is so much better without VAR.

We are only stuck with it if fans accept it. A coordinated effort and it would soon be gone.

I can’t say I have, mainly because the club have said they would vote for it to be scrapped a couple of times now. Perhaps I should though. The other problem is, it doesn’t seem likely there will be a vote.

With 86% of fans saying VAR is reducing their enjoyment of football in a Scottish survey, how do we get this removed from our game?

Yes, we knew government was chaotic at the time without the entire inquiry being focused on it. There is still very little on the actual data and instead a lot of people’s opinions about what was the right thing to do.

I don’t think it is fair to say everyone who was/is against lockdowns just wanted old people to die.

Is it just me or does the UK inquiry appear to only be asking “how much earlier and harder should we have locked down” rather than looking properly at everything from a cost/benefit angle? The Scottish one appears much more balanced so far. For example, today it has become clear masks weren’t initially introduced because there was no scientific evidence for them (and there still isn’t in the real world) but eventually the pressure became too much from unions etc. Yet, still the discussion seems to be around why they weren’t just introduced straight away.

Quite pleasing to see it all ending like this. Feels like small bit of payback for the ridiculous restrictions the public in Scotland had to endure for far too long.

Just a matter of time now before he is gone. Completely out of his depth and unqualified for the job. Better to get a proper manager in sooner rather than later as there is still a good opportunity to get 3rd with the Edinburgh clubs also struggling.

What I find interesting is that almost everyone considers mankading completely unacceptable while yesterday’s incident has generally been seen as ok. I have always thought a mankade is perfectly justified, particularly in T20 when batsmen are trying to cheat and it can have a crucial impact on the result. Yesterday I am less sure about as even the umpires had started their walk and there was clearly no intention to gain any advantage. Having said that, I don’t blame the Aussies taking the wicket.

I do have enough points for a ticket. I just think away fans are part of football and there should be rules in place to protect that, within reason.

Most leagues have proper rules on away allocations.. It is the SPFL who are the outlier here by having a “reasonable allocation” rule which basically allows clubs to please themselves. One person’s interpretation of “reasonable” could be 5000 tickets while another’s 100 or 10% versus 1%.

Yes exactly. As I said the other day, proper away allocation rules are needed urgently. This “reasonable allocation” nonsense is typical of the SPFL though.

Long since past the time for proper away allocation rules like they have down south. 590 tickets is a ridiculous allocation in a ground the size of Tynecastle. Football is so much better with away fans.

If I was running Hearts, I would probably be pulling the trigger on Robbie now. Having said that, all their best seasons in more than a decade have come under him.

All my best memories of going to the football are celebrating goals, particularly away from home. Now, instead of enjoying the moment, my first thought is to watch the referee for any possible signs of VAR involvement. Football is in danger of completely forgetting what made it so popular in the first place.

I can’t believe what I am reading on Twitter. People genuinely thinking if tests are not introduced, it will be back to square one. Must have imagined the last few years of variants spreading to every country regardless of travel restrictions.

We may have benefited from it on this occasion but that wasn’t football I watched on Friday. Several minutes sometimes to make decisions, and even the perfectly good goals still being checked when the players are ready kick off again. It has to at the very least be speeded up significantly.
