  1. That would be better than the current situation since surely it would become instant as the technology improves.
  2. It is not even the right call for me. Not clear and obvious. Linesman gave it onside.
  3. What just happened in the FA cup tells you all you need to know about VAR.
  4. Yes. No club has yet come out and stated they want it scrapped despite it costing them a lot of money and losing them customers. It simply doesn’t make business sense. Calling for “improvements” to VAR is not good enough as the technology simply isn’t there to improve it in any meaningful way. We are still going to be waiting a few minutes to measure offsides down to millimetres for example.
  5. See an article on the BBC about recruiting a new VAR head of referees…
  6. Would be good if we could get some more similar banners in the coming weeks.
  7. It simply doesn’t make business sense for clubs to continue backing it. Making the experience far worse for your customers.
  8. Genuinely interested to see what tweaks they come up with considering the technology available is unlikely to change. Instead of doing the sensible thing and binning it, they are surely likely to claim they have improved VAR before next season starts.
  9. It was about time some of the other clubs got involved. Surely St Johnstone have to be next.
  10. The thing is some people have received initial responses from clubs saying they are happy to discuss it properly in the near future and will get back shortly. I have yet to hear anyone reporting they have had the discussion though. At the end of the day, clubs either already are or soon will be chasing for season ticket renewals. They need to keep supporters interested considering how much of their income comes from gate receipts.
  11. Finally got a reply earlier this week after I responded to a season ticket renewal reminder email saying I was very reluctant to renew given the impact of VAR. Not much said other than the club would be involved behind the scenes in shaping the future of VAR. I went back saying tweaking wouldn’t cut it.
  12. Worst thing to happen to the game in my lifetime. Thankfully we didn’t have much to play for today but it has taken all the enjoyment out of attending games for me. Decision not to go justified.
  13. Haha. My first email was constructive. The second one slightly less so but mainly just mentioned Motherwell’s statement and the lack of engagement with fans over the issue.
  14. I didn’t get any reply to either of my emails. Perhaps I used the wrong tone or sent it to the wrong emails.
  15. I hear there were a couple of “incidents” again today. Thankfully we only had a couple of checks in our game today which came to nothing.
  16. As others have said, it feels like there is finally a bit of momentum here. If you are against VAR and you can, get those emails in
