Good news but would be very surprised if he makes it on to the pitch.

We're due to play County at home next midweek but are both out the cup. I'm surprised there haven't been any rumblings about bringing the game forward to the Saturday. Maybe it's too close but I'm sure we've done it before.

I get wound up by us not marking up at throw-ins and letting teams take them easily but that's just me.
There are some people who I just don't understand why they go to the football in the first place as they seemed to get themselves really worked up about everything with zero enjoyment. There's an old boy near me shouts "That's terrible " constantly whether it is or isn't. It really can't be good for him.0 -
Not a lot happening there. Was there a booking for the challenge on the Motherwell player directly after that first Accies chance?

And we managed to maintain the gap over 5th and 6th place with Hibs and Livi drawing with each other. Does nobody want 3rd place?

I know we were being charged £25 (One of the factors in me not going) but was it the same for the home stand? What is it normally?Shambles of a performance by Accies against ten men and Motherwell should have sneaked that in injury time.
I felt if Ogympoe scored first half,we would have went on to win but second half he was breathing out his backside and Templeton for me looked unfit.
The less said of Johnny Hunt's cross for an open goal the better.Alston again continues to disappoint and Lewis Smith should be playing before him every week.
FInally,Accies not publicising the prices led to folk turning back at the home turnstile and rushing round for the extra cash.Disgraceful pricing and they simply haven't learned from the first game.0 -
And managed to stretch our lead over 5th somehow as well with Hibs and Livi drawing with each other. Does anybody actually want 3rd place.

One thing that I've not seen mentioned is the early challenge on Aarons that wiped him out and sent him flying across the track and off the wall in front of the disabled supporters' section. Somehow the ref decided that wasn't worth a yellow card. I know they talk about defenders sometimes being 'allowed one for free ' early on but that was ridiculous.

Sell him to a travelling circus? It took a fair bit of talent to make that much of a mess of clearing the ball, several times and win the ball each time.He only just cleared the box on his fourth attempt, the ball came back in and he headered it further than any of his clearances, can we harness that somehow?0 -
I'm hearing that Hartley was ill last night and went home at half time. Shouldn't have played but needs must.

I know you're joking about his wording but I was surprised how at how good the condition of the pitch was in and how well it played considering the weather we've had. It was obviously heavy but stood up really well.

Mark O'Hara absolutely took that game by the scruff of the neck tonight. Astonishing performance.

What a ridiculous game of football. I'm exhausted just from watching it.
Both teams were out on their feet and it looked as though a mistake might settle it in extra time but fortunately no-one has that on their conscience. Hladky and Gillespie both had one good save each but Hylton (and Donnelly) really didn't look convincing with the short run-up at the last penalty and it was no surprise when he missed.0 -
Huge credit to our players for getting us to penalties after that first half performance. We're out on on our feet which doesn't bode well but here goes.

Dreadful performance from us and St Mirren really grew in confidence after a well worked first goal. The other goals have been dreadful defending from us with the st. Mirren forwards knowing they have the beating of Hartley and Mugabi who look really slow and clumsy. It could easily have been more.
We've got no dig about us and I can only see it getting worse as there's not much on the bench.0 -
Great to hear the Kirk, Ferguson interview on the radio on the way over. Can't help but think it's tempting fate for us being on before the game. And, oh, that line-up.

He did really well not to just thump the Irish guy although I couldn't help but laugh when he said that was the less offensive of the songs he sang. He must just be known as the town nutter to avoid in the pub.
Certainly worth a watch (but obviously not an easy watch).1 -
I've just winced so much my wife woke up and gave me a dirty look. How could you bring yourself to even type the words?Ive winced so hard I've turned inside out.0 -
Put him in defence and big Bevis Mugabi up front again? Maybe not.

It's absolutely horrendous out there and supposed to get worse with very strong winds (stronger than last weekend when the game became a farce). Can't really have any complaints to be honest.

These sort of double headers often seem to result in a win and a defeat. However, forgetting about the Celtic run of games a few years ago, I can remember getting 2 home wins against Celtic in the 90's and, more recently, 2 against Dundee United. Much as losing the league game would be a sore one with the run we're on I'd probably take a win in the cup game over the 3 points. Winning both would be lovely but I just don't see where our goals are coming from.

Oh dear, I'm worried now as I went to the same school as Derek Ferguson. Fortunately they've since knocked it down and built houses on the land.
Howling at this.......[emoji37][emoji37]
We must blame the skoolz, naw ?0 -
The coverage was dreadful. I was hoping for some mini-Open All Mics which they could easily have done. Instead I got full on Celtic then Rangers coverage with the only updates from the other games being goals or red cards. No discussion on how the games were generally going or missed chances which really wouldn't have taken much effort.

Yeah, looks like you're right and St. Mirren won 1-0 with Godfrey scoring. It was only 33 years ago! (God, I feel old).
