Yancy Madeiros out of 226, Paul Felder looking likely to step in and fight Mike Perry.  I'm cool with that.

I'm more excited for the fight now...has the potential to be an absolute war

Bit of knicker-wetting going on here. Squad is looking good and pre-season training looks to be going well.

We will get our manager, the club need to try and make sure they are choosing the right one.

Agreed, if Miller gets the job it seems he might be in an uphill struggle straight away with some fans. Whoever it is we need to get behind them

Heard Stevie Lawless  was training with you guys.

great addition if true...looked one of the better players in the playoff final.

Getting slightly concerned about the manager situation - we keep pushing back the deadline and clearly K Miller doesn't really want it or he would have said yes already. Long it goes on the more disruptive its going to be when one does come in. If Miller says no on Wednesday now, then what? Holt? If he doesn't want it then we are in real trouble (or just give it to Martindale anyway)!

The club have said they weren't interviewing until Martindale was back from holiday which was only last week. Then sift through the candidates to find the suitable one and begin talks. There was talk last week that the rubber stamp would be put on things today with a view to announcing by Thursday.

    2) Alexander retiring sucks. I wonder if there's been an incident in contract negotiations, he seemed very keen to keep going in interviews given just after promotion, and his farewell twitter speech didn't mention Livi at all. However it's gone, he's been a wonderful player for us, twice, and I wish him all the best. He's done some great charity work for Team Jak as well, he'll be missed.

Can't help but wonder if he's maybe picked up an injury somewhere and feels at his age he's maybe better going the coaching route...gutted to lose him as he was a big player for us but wish him well...maybe see him back at Livi again in a non playing role down the line.

I'm not privy to the situation but I find it surprising that he left without a job very much secured. The club did mention personal reasons in the statement but for me, that doesn't tally with being in the running for other clubs.

    Really only Doncaster left now.

He's been ruled out of the running for the Doncaster job...maybe his plan backfired a wee bit

Yeah he was a really gifted technical player, defied belief how good he was with the ball at his feet, and was 2 moves ahead of most players. When he was with us he had the stat of being the most fouled player in the SPL, and that was prob him only getting about two thirds of the fouls given to him, he got kicked that much because opposition players couldn't get the ball off him.

Fernandez scored the best goal ive seen in the flesh. a screamer against montrose at almondvale against Montrose in the scottish(?) cup around 04. sure it was the same season montrose shipped 9 at easter road. must add it was the best performance ive ever seen from montrose

I remember that goal, was the 03/04 season and it was the only goal of the game. High winds and rain made the game a bit of a joke tbh and probably helped with the goal.

Darian Mackinnon has physically stabbed someone but has been more than capable at playing at this level.

He done his time, paid his price and has learned to get his anger out on the pitch where he'll have something to show for it.

Was our best player in the 2016/2017 season.

Second chances... yes they should exist.

You seem a thoroughly decent human being...we didn't seen many of them while we were in the championship forum

Maybe a bit unfair but Kenny Miller does not seem to have the right personality to take over. He reminds me very much of Burchill.

Paulo Sergio has also been linked this morning.

Two interesting articles on the BBC yesterday:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44335173

John Ward  stating that the new manager must fit into our current structure. That is exactly the message I wanted to hear and probably rules out the likes of McIntyre and Neilson.

Really nice story about Gregor Buchanan and his sister recovering from a stroke to make the second leg. Having a stroke would be horrible at any time but in your early 30s? Poor girl.

The one about Buchanan has a nice mention of Hartson putting his arm around him and helping him through things. Not bad for a part time striker coach. Going by the reports of Gregg Ryder, he sounds almost too good to be true but Hartson is certainly one of my picks

Managed to make contact with an IBV fan who told me a fair bit about Ryder:

He began as a youth coach at IBV and worked his way up to a first team coach alongside David James and Hermann Hreidarsson. He managed to make the move to Knattspyrnufelagid Prottur, becoming the youngest manager in Iceland's history. In his first season he took Prottur to promotion with one of the smallest budgets in the league then finishing above the relegation spots in the following season. The season afterwards he guided them to a third place finish to be promoted again. He also had a stint as a development coach at Newcastle

He left Prottur two weeks ago, resigning so no compensation would be due.

One of his biggest attributes is working to a budget and utilising youth players. His ability to work alongside youth players to further career seemed to be one of his strongest attributes.

He would be very unlikely to want to bring any staff alongside him, instead favouring to work with a new clubs current infrastructure.

His teams work in a direct and very organised manner favouring a high tempo game.

    Sounds very promising
