  1. I'm assuming the solution in the short term is to use the footage from the match day stream which is the reason it contains commentary. However even at the highest quality it's difficult to make out who is who. Watching highlights from teams in L1 like Falkirk and Alloa and even L2 clubs like Stranraer and Stirling Albion it's clear how poor ours is video quality wise.
  2. The club mention the match day stream but given for 3pm games it's only being streamed post COVID to those outside the UK I'd be curious to know how many people are watching this especially since those games aren't PPV. If the reasoning is true about budgets then while streaming may still be a worthwhile use of resource, I'm sure the majority would sacrifice that in favour of better highlights. Suppose they've at least finally acknowledged the problem and hopefully we see an improvement in the short term.
  3. Our reserves are playing Killie at Cumnock this afternoon. Also Ollie Ecrepont starting for Scotland U16s, alongside Darren Fletcher's sons to make everyone feel old.
  4. Exactly and we clearly are supplying the SPFL with highlights of the goals even if the tweet they posted on Monday of Dipo's goal was embarrassing quality. Bigger issue for the club would be if nobody wanted to watch highlights. Given all the talk of increasing the fan base and with our start to the season it's seems a good highlights package would be the starting point for attracting new or lapsed fans to Somerset. I would prefer highlights in HD uploaded ASAP over having them add in score graphics etc.
  5. Issue was with them processing the purchase rather the stream itself. Although since they still stream every home game I've no idea why we've only had 3 highlight packages from 9 home games so far. Might as well hire whoever is behind that Saida Wiseman account as they at least upload them promptly.
  6. The improvement in the overall package we can offer loan players is important. Hopefully even if Young didn't stay permanently the loan clubs themselves do see the benefit him, Kirk and Sinisalo got from their loan spells up here if we ask for anyone else in the future. More optimistic that Mullin would stay next season as he seems to be at an age where he'd rather play every week than just be at a top flight club for the sake of it. Hopefully we keep playing him RM as no surprise he did better last night than on Saturday when he got shifted to the left early on.
  7. Seems to be out of contract in the summer so got to be worth the club at least asking the question if Villa don't plan to offer him anything. Just show him Jordan Preston's rather uninspiring career since he turned us down to stay in England.
  8. Agreed we would get more from top flights clubs up here. When you consider the prize money on offer anything under 300k isn't even worth a response. Needs two goals to beat Adeloye's league goals which would also put him in our top 5 for Championship goalscorers which highlights the value of having a striker that can put the ball in the net.
  9. Would still say no in January unless it was crazy crazy money although different story in the summer if he didn't want to sign an extension and we had a replacement in. For now just lie and tell them he's inferior to Adeloye and hopefully they'll go away.
  10. Shankland also scored one at the start of that season against Stenhousemuir in the League Cup. Notice it hasn't taken long for the rumours to start about teams looking at Dipo. According to Football League World Bradford City, Burton Albion, Leyton Orient, and Morecambe are all interested. They can look elsewhere as no chance he's leaving in January.
  11. You do feel harsh criticising volunteers as we did have one of the best co-commentators during covid and this season the match reports for reserve and academy games has been a good addition. However the last couple of years has had ongoing issues with audio and quality in interviews and streams, at the vision night I'm sure they filmed it only to realise at the interval it wasn't recording. Those in charge seem to be reluctant to seek feedback and others are using AUMedia to gain experience rather than bringing it so seems daft to get rid of an experienced guy. The buzz of waking up on a Sunday after a win was always good knowing the highlights were likely up. Now we have a random fan and the away team that lost 5-0 putting highlights up before Ayr and the need to see our own has worn off by Monday.
  12. Hopefully Akinyemi and Young can form a successful partnership without hindering each other's game. Would like to see one stick to playing the width of the 18 yard box and leave the other to drop deep and run wide as we didn't create many clear cut chances in the 2nd half last week.
  13. The club should be applauded for consulting fans before any decision is made although some of the responses are more based on personal circumstances rather than the big picture view which is clearly the club's approach. The proposal probably needs more detail regarding savings from estimated cost of the floodlights, number of games it will involve, maximum distance permitted between clubs and some attempt to agree a set PPV price across the league. If we say 2 hours distance is the max then for us that's Partick, QP, Hamilton, Morton and Raith. If all those clubs agreed it would mean between Nov-Feb that 4 home and 5 away game would be moved excluding the Dundee Christmas Eve game. At the end of the day if the club saves money so the playing budget isn't impacted then it's the most sensible approach short term.
  14. The current TV blackout rule is in place from 2:45-5:15 so assume that's the reason.

  16. Sounds like he'll play midfield for you but he is a versatile player. Started out as a RB although his first couple of starts were at LB. Then was played CM under Kerr and Hopkin although missed majority of last season with injury. This season he's played CB in pre-season and started RM away at Annan in the League Cup. Problem for him is although he's decent he isn't 1st or 2nd choice for any of those positions and needs regular football at this stage. Should hopefully do well at L1 level though if he can stay fit.
  17. He was released in the summer of 2004 but Shanks brought him back in the October. Got signed again despite getting sent off playing as a trialist.
  18. Yeah also says he plays for Leicester and his stats for them and Arbroath are wrong too. Maybe his kids found it and were embarrassed.
  19. You'd be right. Doyle played 18 league games and scored his only goal on his debut. Mark Casey arrived from Portsmouth the same season as Weaver and played for a few seasons. Andy Reid signed the year before from Blackburn although he didn't play much.
  20. Imagine Kirk will be back in as Musonda was called up to the Zambia squad for friendlies against Libya and Mali.
  21. We seem to be currently beating QoS 3-2 in the reserve league. Young and Mullin (x2).
  22. With Medvedev out, Federer's win over Murray in the 2008 final remains the last time the male singles champion has successfully defended the title.
  23. People have been saying that, whenever he loses, since about 2018 and thankfully he hasn't listened yet. He can rest up for Davis Cup in a couple of weeks where he'll likely play doubles with Salisbury, meaning he'd be potentially keeping the next World No.1 Skupski out, as he's likely to be the 5th man called up now due to Draper's injury.
  24. On value for money Sean Higgins could be a contender. Signed to score the goals to keep us up, injured 3 minutes into his debut and never seen again but the club were left paying about £500 of his wages for the rest of the season.
