  1. Ridiculous defending from Murray to get the break back. Kokkinakis rattled at the minute.
  2. Was being linked with Barnsley yesterday. Financially we would struggle to match them if the interest is real.
  3. Robbie Ure looked decent when Scotland U19's played Kazakhstan at Somerset in November. No idea if he's available on loan though.
  4. Be surprised if it was this option as it's unlikely we'd pay a fee for anyone in this window. Would need to have a similar contract situation to Gondoh and be at their current club on a non-contract basis. Would rather we wait until the summer to explore the English non-league market. An U23 player on a 3 month loan with a view to signing or someone from up here is more likely I'd think.
  5. Glad to see I didn't jinx him completely. Turned it on at 2-1 in the 3rd set only for Murray to fail to convert a break point for the first time and get broken in the next game. Hopefully Kokkinakis v Fognini goes 5 sets.
  6. Yeah after the last couple of seasons I'd have taken 6th-7th at the start of the season and safety secured early. Our start means most people would now be disappointed with that but even 4th would represent a very successful season given how tight the league will be to the end. Excluding Raith, performance wise it probably goes further back to the Hamilton game but this team at least has some character. Agree we need something new although hard to know what that is exactly will be due to the recent change of shape and our injury list having ever moving return dates.
  7. Club probably have 3 options available. 1. Go all out for the title which would require 4 players in 2. Bring a couple in and target the play-offs 3. Assume we’re unlikely to be relegated so sign nobody and use the existing squad while getting a head start on planning for next season All 3 have risk and rewards attached but could see number 2 happening with a CM and ST joining. Option 1 is unlikely since the January window is notoriously tough and not helped by the 9 sub rule these days either. Doubt option 3 would go down well but if it offered more game time to some of the younger players then the experience gained would at least give them a chance to stake a claim for next season which wouldn’t be the worst thing.
  8. Would have been hypocritical of Geraldine to complain though given she voted for Michelle in episode 2. Finished it today. Think it helped that I only knew the swimmer so watching the show all the reality stars blended in. Think a UK celebrity version would be a tough battle between our Z-list celebs having the acting skills to be traitors v the rest of them having the intelligence to figure them out. No doubt skill watch it though.
  9. Should (if he stays) mean Mullin playing on the right every week which is a good thing. Hopefully Hewitt is excluded from the 1 in 1 out scenario and we get another body in. Although since Mullin, JML, O'Connor and Ashford are now the wide options and we've got another 4 ST if Young is still here then you'd want someone who walks into the starting 11 or it's a waste of time.
  10. Thought the same when I read it but watching this week's press conference the article seems to be based entirely on that. Particular comment was more of a quip from Bullen so hard to tell if there is more to it or not.
  11. Tough 1st round draws for Murray and a couple of the Brits. With the form he's in be interesting to see how much trouble Draper can cause. Andy Murray vs Matteo Berrettini Jack Draper vs Rafael Nadal Kyle Edmund vs Jannik Sinner
  12. Also from a training point of view loaning players out isn't the solution people think it is. Majority will still spend time training with us unless it's a loan to a club that's FT or in another country so the squad Bullen's working with day to day is likely to increase with an additions even if for example Bryden went on loan to Albion Rovers.
  13. Fair enough, I feel that's more a management issue about not playing to people's strengths. McKenzie doesn't have the crossing ability of Mullin, trickery of Chalmers, O'Connor's dribbling or natural pace like Mitchell-Lawson so is wasted out wide. Probably knows he needs to add more goals and would like to see him be more selfish and take more shots but on this season's form he deserves to be second striker at the minute.
  14. Nothing again would suggest that McKenzie doesn't have 2 goals and 2 assists when he's been subbed on this season, and other solid performances when he's started. The criticism of Bryden is over the top but attempting to defend him by criticising others is unnecessary. I'm not 100% sure what position McKenzie was being asked to play yesterday as he was closer to the midfield than Dipo but I'm sure both players are following the manager's instructions so for me it should be more questions asked of the tactics and the roles they've been given.
  15. I know players like to steal a few yards at free kicks but based on our highlights the goal was scored because Mullin moved the ball forward 25 yards without the ref noticing so fair play to him.
  16. Would be ideal to give us another natural goalscorer as when Dipo likes to drift wide none of the other options offer much of a focal point in the box. If Transfermarkt is correct he's got the same agent as Mullin so we could see if he's available when we're hopefully trying to negotiate his pre-contract.
  17. More likely means Todorov's agent as it's the same one Robbie Crawford has and it was hinted on here in the summer that it wasn't Robbie's choice not to come back. Always thought Smith gets a hard time over not signing for us when he returned. Deal to leave was agreed when Kerr was manager so who can really blame him for not wanting to work under Hopkin, afterall none of us wanted to watch it.
  18. Think it's important to acknowledge McKenzie's part in the first goal too. It shows how effective he is in that role as if he's not playing yesterday the ball is probably back with Albinson 10 seconds later instead of resulting in a goal. Of the players out of contract in the summer he would be the next one I'd be getting to sign an extension.
  19. Yeah we did. It was in 2006 with the game live on Sky. A few years later we could have played our Scottish Cup tie against Lochee on a Monday afternoon. It was postponed once again though and ended up being played on a Wednesday.
  20. It was an away game but first league game last season was on a Monday.
  21. Appears Musonda's not away on international duty due to his injury. Don't know if it means he's got an outside chance of being available for Saturday or if his injury is more serious than first thought.
  22. Both games are free entry with a 3pm kick off on Saturday and 7:30 on Tuesday. Turnstiles open an hour before KO but I imagine they'll only open the main stand.
  23. Tbh I've no idea what capacity the north terrace holds but I doubt promotion would cause our home fans to increase so much we would be turning people away at the turnstile. I'm sure the club will have some alternatives in mind for hospitality. I imagine whatever the loss is will be compensated by the increased prize money.
  24. Less Old Firm fans for us to have to put up with sounds preferable, although still a Railway End too much for most of us.
  25. Personally I would rather go for 1 or 2 additions in January, unless anyone leaves permanently. January is historically a difficult time to recruit and including loans out we probably already carry a squad of about 25-30 players at training. From the way the players talk and interact it's obvious there is a good team spirit and importantly a bit of character in the squad as we've seen in games. Probably the main reason we are where we are currently so quality over quantity would be my preference as easier to integrate.
