  1. Went into bodybuilding after retiring so last picture I seen of him it looked like he was covered in chocolate. Clearly likes his fake tan. Decent player who probably could have stepped up a level if it wasn't for badly timed injuries.
  2. I'm guessing Fisher, Hawkshaw, Kelly and Moore? Fisher was a RB who played once as a sub away at Peterhead. Hawkshaw was a CB who apparently turned down Celtic to sign pro with us but I'm sure ended up going to America on a scholarship. Kelly played CM once as a sub against Sunnybank (I'm sure Crawford was on the bench that day) Moore was a ST although I only remember him being an unused sub against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup although he may have been on the bench a few other times.
  3. When I asked the Morton fans at the start of May it was a pretty underwhelming response. Works hard but very limited ability and more of an athlete than a footballer.
  4. Hopefully not the case. We made our own reserves play at Cumnock to protect the pitch and then we’d be turning around and let another team use it for a bit of cash. Real community club. South Ayrshire and Ayrshire in general is already rife with Old Firm fans without the club reducing its own potential fan base further by letting those that can’t afford a ticket at Ibrox to take themselves and their kids to Somerset so they actually can pretend to be real supporters for once. Also based on recent and past behaviour an element of their support should be let nowhere near our stadium, new hub or Ayr in general.
  5. Anthony O'Connor was captain at Bradford under Hopkin and last week it was announced he'll leave at the end of his contract. Was previously at Aberdeen but more than likely out of our price range. Probably turn out we're waiting on Morton's season ending before announcing Sean McGinty and Brian McLean.
  6. Conway still stays in Chorley and did an interview the other week saying being away from his kids is tough. If he does leave St Johnstone he might end up somewhere like Flyde if he's not wanting to move back to Scotland permanently. I'd take him though but think the first few signings might give us a better idea what formation will be Hopkin's preferred cause right now it's hard to say if it will be wing-backs or wingers.
  7. Did follow the club on twitter a couple of months ago but wasn't long after Todd had signed and they'd played together at QoS so didn't think much of it.
  8. Exactly I'm sure Hopkin has some idea which players will be regulars next season but until signings are made he can't be certain. He could miss out on some targets and the alternatives are no better than Murdoch for example. Also only the club knows how much players are on and whether based on the playing time they'll receive it's better to try and move them on or if it's a suitable amount for a squad player.
  9. Not sure why anyone expected players under contract to be released yesterday. Would be surprised if any player agreed to rip up their 2 year contract when the season isn't even over for everyone and they won't likely sign for anyone else until June/July. The other option of the club paying up a years worth isn't exactly sensible when you can pay them for a couple of months and hope they find a new club themselves for next season. Only recent player I can remember leaving with a year left was Harkins and that wasn't announced until June when he already had his move to Morton lined up.
  10. Did have a look at BT Sport but UFC is scheduled for 1 that night. BT were set to show the last Frampton fight until it was rescheduled for Dubai and then on fight week it was eventually picked up by Channel 5 and I'm sure they also did similar with Santa Cruz v Davis. Possibly same thing could happen here.
  11. Preferred Ryan McCann from that partnership. Doubt we'd have got promoted that season had we not signed McCann and Eddie Malone after being hammered away at Alloa. Would take a couple like that for next season especially since our LB 's are normally a bit psycho and Reading doesn't seem the type.
  12. The reservoir incident put Ryan under suspicion too soon and his storyline was made worse by not giving him an interview scene or even him and Steve coming face to face. The box including the knives was more tying up loose ends for the police rather than the viewers. Given Ryan was already in training and the OCG had no obvious leader after Corbett’s death it’s bizarre Ryan didn’t dispose of the knives himself. Also Gates was dead so why keep that knife. Fairbank return was meaningless as he didn’t contribute anything to the story other than an unconfirmed link to Jo. They should have had him either faking then letting the mask slip when interviewed or someone who has brief recollections of the past when prompted. Buckles interview like Jo last week was drawn out too much with so many “No Comment” answers. If you want us to at least believe Buckles was top man then make him show his true colours under interview. He still came across an idiot instead of someone with this sinister side who orders killings. Although fair play to Chloe who did most of the work on the case herself.
  13. You may be right but it would suggest that Ayr no longer own the land. Near a recycling centre and an abattoir isn't exactly the greatest location for a stadium never mind houses so good luck to them.
  14. It does but the applicant is Allanvale which is Kirkwood's company.
  15. It's actually 2 family members. Maybe they were just interested in the relegation battle that he's played no part in since March but I doubt it. Although the reviews from Morton fans were not great, he does sound like a Hopkin kind of player.
  16. Cheers so potentially signing a pre contract with a relegation rival might be the answer. A quick trawl through Ayr United twitter followers shows a couple of Salkeld's family have followed the club recently. This season I managed to work out 5-6 of our squad before it was announced by checking it so could be the first new signing predicted already. He's always got a chance with our fanbase considering half hated Chris Aitken but loved Dean Keenan cause he ran about a lot.
  17. Out of interest is Cameron Salkeld injured or just out of favour? Seems like he's a decent height, bit of a headless chicken but tries hard which sounds exactly the type of player Hopkin will want for us at Ayr next season.
  18. Think he only appeared on the bench in the last game at Morton the season Mitchell was here, although he may have trained with him. Certainly was in the same youth team as Aaron Connolly at Ayr. Although from what we know about Tiffoney, the impact his behaviour could have on others doesn't seem to register with him.
  19. https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/jed-mercurio-paul-greengrass-stephen-lawrence-1234704561/ Jed Mercurio is executive producer on a three-part sequel to “The Murder of Stephen Lawrence,” so I imagine that will have something to do with the creation of this Lawrence Christopher character.
  20. He didn't chuck it like Corr, Hamilton and Moore so he get more respect from me than they do. Didn't realise he was still at the club when we got promoted although he only had 1 start and 2 sub appearances so that would explain why. I guess it was this game http://www.dsargent.co.uk/Season_0809/Stirling_Jan09/Gallery.html
  21. Conceded 4 at home to Ross County and was subbed off "injured" at half time in what was Neil Watt's last game. One of many of his Stranraer boys who never played/appeared again after that. Think only Murray Henderson made it to the end of the season.
  22. He received the shares in 2003 from the Rae's and the same year he also appears to have had to retire due to injuries so may have just been a token gesture given he was a local guy. It didn't appear to impact how his Livi side performed against Morton and I doubt it will be at the front of his mind during these last 3 games.
  23. https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/SC003264/filing-history He listed on the Confirmation statement made on 28 December 2020 as shareholding 220 with 41666 ordinary shares. Didn't bother to check to see how it compares to everyone else on the list.
