Raith Rovers v Airdrie Utd
Specky Ginger replied to Enigma's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
No idea what the problem is with the flag. There were loads of English guys in the 200 club after the game - the Teeside pals of Fife's Finest. If they'd brought a huge St George's flag with RRFC or a Rovers crest in the middle, I'd absolutely be embracing it - same as the Polish flag Big Kev's family had in the main stand today. I've always regarded Rovers as a broad church, not the sporting wing of some political or religious movement. -

I wasn't totally sold on Easton last season, but he's definitely stepped up this season. We were pretty poor for the most part against the Pars last Saturday, but you got the feeling that Easton might make something happen when he came on and, sure enough, he played a big part in setting up Stanton's winner. -

To be fair, Vaughan ran himself into the ground last Saturday, and again on Tuesday, and Connolly is gradually working his way back from injury. -

Possibly a case of too many boys running on empty, but also a case of facing a decent Airdrie team, who try to play the right way. Frustrating to lose such a cheap goal, but Airdrie could have scored with any other of the decent openings they created. Overall, a good, clean game - one booking for kicking the ball away tells a story. Hope the Airdrie boy who was stretchered off is okay. -

As said by most others, top four was the aim at the start of the season and I still think that's the case. It's a pity your mob look so strong as I'd have fancied the current Rovers against last year's Dundee team and the previous season's Kilmarnock team. -

Dynamo Dymock (no relation of Charley). Latterly of Kirkcaldy High School. -

The pitch at Cappielow has definitely improved in recent seasons, although two games in 72 hours, with a lot of rain in between, might mean it's not at its best. -
That being the case, I'm sure some local charity will have benefited by him donating his bonus for winning the title, as surely he wouldn't have accepted it if he didn't believe it had been fairly earned. At the time, most folk I spoke to, were in favour of reconstruction, but unfortunately Mrs Budge was put in charge of coming up with solutions and every one she devised was nothing more than a 'Get out of jail' card for Hearts and therefore wasn't agreeable to the majority of clubs.

I was speaking to my brother in law about this exact thing yesterday when McLean got sacked. However, I've a feeling St Johnstone will look for an experienced "fire fighter" with previous Premiership experience. -

Without checking, I'm going to hazard a guess at November 1996. We had Rangers then the Pars in the space of a fortnight. Iain Munro's brand of football had us flocking through the turnstiles. A heroic draw against Rangers and there's no doubt the signing and debut of Odd Areld put a couple of thousand on the gate for the Dunfermline game. -

I think Green also mentioned something about selling the naming rights of Ibrox. He mentioned a multi million pound deal with Apple and the stadium being called iBrox. Not quite sure what happened -

I honestly didn't notice them when Rovers were there in August, so that's usually a positive sign. -

Total football? With Robbie Muirhead in the team? Are you sure? -

I noticed Ethan Ross wasn't in the Falkirk squad. I'm trying to remember if he played for us against Cliftonville and is therefore cup-tied, or whether we're keeping him for the semis and final. -

Having another team with a J in their name would heartily piss off St Johnstone fans. More so a club based in Dundee. -

Am I right in saying that the current floodlights at Cliftonhill came from the old Arms Park in Cardiff? -

Connor O'Riordan has put Crewe in front tonight and Keiron Bowie set up Northampton's second. And Connor McBride just scored more league goals in the space of five minutes for Gateshead than he managed in a whole season for us.
