  1. In fairness you could add Narey, McGeachie, Glennie and Grant Murray to the list. I reaisted the temptation to include Dave Bowman.
  2. I can't remember how his first happened off the top of my head. He has to the best of my knowledge had two happen in game and a third was in training, which I think was under mcglynn. It was in a home cup tie against Albion Rovers at the start of the McKinnon season. I honestly can't recall whether there was any contact with an opposition player or not.
  3. You're probably right to say Scottish football was much better then, but unfortunately Raith Rovers were shite at that time and by the time of my first visit to Love Street in 1992 (Rovers' first for 15 years), the North Bank was seated. That was at the time Strathclyde Police's 'Operation Blade' was in full swing and the charming young Buddies duly informed us in song that 'We're gonnae stab you in Paisley'.
  4. Exactly. It's not as if the choice of seat is really restricted. If you go to buy a ticket for the Dundee game now, I'd be surprised if there isn't at least a few seats available in every row of every section.
  5. They also pumped us in 19/20 when they were League Two and McGlynn was in charge of us.
  6. Better teams than this one? We were rank bad yesterday, but I'm not remotely convinced that the Rovers teams who have played Cove in the past were better than our current crop. The biggest difference is that Cove have come on leaps and bounds. We got pumped up there under Barry Smith when they were a Highland League Club.
  7. Musonda looked a class act for most of his first season with us, barring the odd shocker (Pars away). Unfortunately he was a bit injury prone and was never quite as effective last season. Not sure if that was due to not being 100% fit or not getting a decent run in the team in his best position. Given he's a decent centre half and can fill in anywhere across the back four, and given how short we are of defenders in their natural position, it's looking more and more like a bad move that we didn't make more of an effort to keep him.
  8. But, but, but we're only one point off the promotion playoffs.
  9. I can't believe anyone would hold Stanton responsible for the penalty at Aberdeen. All he did was slide in to try to retrieve someone else's cock up.
  10. Not going to comment on the game as I'm not there, but it sounds like we're still lacking penetration up front and Cove don't have a soft centred defence like us.
  11. Apparently the clubs were agreeable to the continuation of live streaming, but Sky objected. And guess who Neil Doncaster and his cohorts sided with?
  12. Nah, I'm not having that. There's no way Eric Drysdale rejected a five figure bid for anyone. He doesn't like standing in laddies' way.
  13. The club will have to carry out a medical / fitness test on any signing and that's unlikely to happen when a player has covid, especially if he's fatigued.
  14. Apparently so, much to the relief of all Rovers fans. Some of us were worried we'd re-signed the guy who shat the bed at East End and elsewhere in 2010/11.
  15. Pretty much agree. The defending for the penalty aside, can't really complain about the performance. 2-0 is a bit harsh.
  16. Stanton lucky to get away with a yellow.
  17. I'll no doubt get shot down for this, but I wondered if he suddenly turned it on in the latter part of the season knowing he was out of contract at Livingston and was trying to put himself in the shop window. For every Cup Final or Killie away performance, there was a Pars home and Pars away performance.
  18. Was hoping for a carve up similar to West Germany v Austria in the 1982 World Cup. Rovers score early then both teams piss about. Aberdeen go through as group winners and we go through as runners up. However, the spanner in the works is that if Aberdeen don't get at least two points today, they'll be unseeded in the knockout stages.
  19. Let's have a re-enactment of West Germany v Austria in the 1982 World Cup. We score early then we all relax.
  20. He signed a two and a half year deal in January 2022. We're in July 2022, so I reckon he might just still be under contract.
  21. Given that Falkirk's last two games are against Clyde and Bonnyrigg, I'd imagine they'll win their group with Hibs finishing second on nine points and a big goal difference.
  22. Gullan definitely needs Mitchell alongside him. Lots of tidy football between the halfway line and the edge of the box, but absolutely no cutting edge. A wee bit fortunate not to fall behind right on half time with non existent marking at a corner.
