  1. On-pitch officials are now delegating decisions to VAR.
  2. When you put it like that, you're bang on actually. It's definitely worth having the match-going experience ruined for good if it means that Kevin Clancy can still referee Conference League games.
  3. I think without VAR, the linesman wouldn't be giving miovski offside. Raising the flag is now a way of signalling to VAR that it should be checked, and allows shitebag officials to absolve themselves of any responsibility for decisions that could be remotely controversial. In that case the lino knew he was clearly onside, knew VAR would award the goal, but flagged anyway just in case he was wrong. Cowardly officiating imo.
  4. Yeah, we got a penalty that we wouldn't otherwise have got, but we've just scored three (four really) times against Celtic and I didn't celebrate a single one of them with my usual gay abandon, because every goal is checked, and every goal has to be approved, and we have to wait for that, and there are still decisions that rankle, and mistakes are still made. So, we've lost all the fun of football in exchange for what? f**k VAR
  5. Club: '98 cup final, 2012 cup final. I've been very unfortunate with finals attended... Country: nothing really, maybe the Sweden game at Italia '90? Looked fun, in a cracking stadium
  6. During the bin strike too, ceremonial flypast from a squadron of seagulls, pizza crusts and burgers in their beaks. Gawd bless yer ma'am
  7. So, turns out that the Riga tickets thing is related to a UEFA rule about minimum allocations for away fans. 5% of capacity is compulsory, any more than that is optional. Apparently Riga have given us more than 5% already. All that could've been communicated a lot earlier, and made a lot clearer, the club really needs to be out in front of all of this stuff, playing catch-up and being reactive creates so much more hassle/work for the Comms folk, and gets fans backs up
  8. Seems to be driven by RFS - they've only released 400 tkts, with more to come. But, it is daft in general, surely the clubs have been in dialogue about how many fans are expected to travel etc
  9. It was obvious from the 7th minute in Zurich that we'd miss Halkett, but fk me, Boyce is a huge loss. Hopefully Humphrys adjusts quickly, and can play that role.
  10. Oh yeah, makes sense. Hadn't occurred to me that they might get distracted. Another teaching moment maybe. Probably have a few of those in this first season on our road to European domination!
  11. Europe giving the players big heads? Today was very poor, very few pass marks. The European game will be what it will be, but St Mirren next week is probably a must-win
  12. That's sort of what I said; "For me, personally, this season, I am not bothered about the LC - which is convenient really, since we're oot!" This season, we have bigger fish to fry, and much bigger/more useful (in terms of getting back into Europe) games to look forward to. Next season, I would hope that we've built the squad up to a size/quality that we can challenge for both domestic cups, get third in the league whilst widening the gap to fourth and narrowing the gap to second, and make a slightly bigger dent in Europe. Who knows, we might even manage to beat St J in Perth and Killie at Tynecastle!* Anyway, best of luck to Killie in the next round, but especially on Saturday *yeah, fantasy stuff...
  13. Yeah, but Killie have won one Scottish Cup in the last 30 years, and three ever. Of course winning the LC would be one of the best days of a Killie fan's life, especially beating an OF in the final. For me, personally, this season, I am not bothered about the LC - which is convenient really, since we're oot!
  14. That's just my personal opinion though, i'm sure the club aren't turning their nose up at the LC, but I am. Since the LC had it's European spot removed, I've become fairly indifferent to being in or out of it. Yeah, winning it would be a laugh (even on penalties after a tedious 0-0 with ICT) but the Scottish Cup is MUCH more fun & important, and now we're out, we've got one (or four) fewer games in which any more players can be injured. I was over this result about 30 seconds after FT. In fact, I'm so over it that I'm wasting my valuable deadline day-watching time posting on this thread!
  15. The LC doesn't have a European spot attached to it though. It's literally a distraction from any campaign to get into Europe
  16. Meh. We seem to have got away without any injuries, which is the main thing these days. Killie looked solid, a good, well organised McInnes team, should be sniffing around the top six. We looked a bit half-hearted, but tbh I'm fine with that. LC would've been a big distraction, whilst adding literally nothing to our stated aims of getting back into Europe next season. Important to get something from Livi (points, not injuries) and then all focus on Erdogan's lickspittles.
  17. Tommy Wright has been sat by the phone for a couple of weeks now...
  18. Under achievers in league positions for sure, but no-one had an open-top bus parade for second place. What if we compare actual trophies won for the same period (excluding Celtic & The Other obvs...), how do The Famous Aberdeen fare compared to Edinburgh (and Leith) not to mention St Johnstone, Livi, Ross County and ICT?
