The View at the Music Hall last night - superb
First support band, Luva Anna were pretty poor i think, didnt rate them much. Then The Law came on, they were superb as usual -getting the crowd going.
Then came that arsehold Donny Tourette and Towers of London. To be honest, musically, they were pretty tight - but the lyrics were shit. The amount of pints flying his way was amusing. Walking on stage saying "raise your game you sheep shagging c*nts" aint gonna please the crowd. Although his cocky attitude soon disappeared after he slipped on his arse . Was also amusing to see him jump into the crowd, only to get smacked in the face
The View were outstanding. Right from the opening chords of "Coming Down", the crowd were mental and really were up for it. They must have played everything, b sides aswell and even did a great cover of "Up the Junction" by Squeeze
All in all, a top night!

Yeah theyve booked venues far too big for them! Mostly Carling Academys, i mean Brixton FFS!
You got the new album? What you think of it?

Just because one band in Dundee are making it doesn't mean that another can't. People with you with opinions like this is what every band out of Dundee is going put up with.
Oh, just got Arctic Monkeys tickets for the Caird Hall for the 17th of April...superb .
Huzza same also, should be a good gig! You going to the View gig at Caird Hall?

Are the Holloways not supporting the Rakes at the Barras tomorrow night?
Yeah they are supporting the Rakes, but the gig has been moved to QMU i think. They booked venues which were far too big, Brixton Academy being an example.
Next gig should be Babyshambles at SECC on December 1st

, well they have finished a tour, so technically i was right

Does anybody know of the Holloways and if they are likely to be touring? I like them. Lots.

Theyve just done a tour i think.

I was at AF on Monday as well. Was quite a surreal moment to see Win Butler stumble past during the final song! Really good gig though they didn't play my favourite song (Laika) and it has to be said that some of the new stuff is a bit weak.
Next up I've got BRMC, then Cat Power and CSS at Triptych.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club?? luck b*****d! It would be worth the admission fee alone just to hear Spread Your Love"

After that I've got The Rakes on the 21st, which I am now really looking forward to having heard the new stuff.
Have you got the new album?? I have and im pretty disappointed with it tbh, not nearly as gritty as their superb debut. The World Was a Mess.... is an excellent tune however!

Was at the Babyshambles gig myself. My mate got kicked out for storming teh stage, he was ushered out a fire exit, and let back in the front door by security. What a hero. Seriously they are playing again in Inverness in a few months if any of you want to bottle Pete Doherty you can easily do it in the Ironworks!
As for the gig, the crowd was mental. You could tell that most of the people hadn't been anywhere near alcohol in a few months. The crowd was full of hard core minks from all the villages around Inverness (Dingwall is a town so f**k you all!) and if Doherty left after four songs like he did in Lincoln the place would have been destroyed.
Was this guy at the very front of the que to get in, claiming to have the drummer from The Views number?? If so i was speaking to him throughout the gig.

Yes and the lead singer did a DJ set there too a few weeks before that, the owner of the Ironworks must give good head
Its a cracking wee venue anyway!!

Babyshambles in Inverness last night, amazing!
Crowd were well up for it, Pete looked relatively sober, and the band were up for it too.
Got Time For Heroes and What Katie Did so cant complain:D
The Holloways were amazing also.
Bring on Larrikin Love, Bloc Party and The Killers in February!

A tenner well spent.
I am going to see Babyshambles on Saturday night in Inverness. Hopefully they will be riots like the Aberdeen gig.
Me too! Aberdeen gig was mad!
Could recommend any good pre/post gig places for drinkage?

Glad you pointed that out! Thought I'd been at the wrong gig!
Err... I assume CALDERON was at the Aberdeen gig.
Im glad someone notices that bands can play away from Glasgow
