  1. I'm not even sure if I could believe that. He skulks around the pitch and every now or then he gets bored, pretends to karate kick a ball and instead goes right through an opposition player. He never seems to accept the blame for any of his wrong doings, his head appears to drop quicker than most players when we concede a goal and he makes me cringe when he flies up to a referee with his arms flapping and his eyes bulging. Apart from that, I don't rate his 'talent'. I wonder how many 'passes' of his have gone flying down Pratt Street?

Not great traits for the man with the armband.

I know this has been done to death, but I would like to see Mcglynn give the armband to either Sparky, Murray or Laurie this season. They are the true leaders on the park for us.

  2. I think Chris should take advice from Abraham Lincoln...

He also suggested a few seasons ago that Lee Bryce was our 20 goals a season striker.

On another thread somebody claims that Paul McManus is the ex striker that we are trying to sign!

I dont care how good or how well he was playing, he can get to feck. Every time.

  3. I see Baird was given the assist for the Airdrie goal last night, with a cross for Gemmill. Airdrie's goal against us a couple of weeks ago was also down to Baird's crossing. Hmm maybe McGlynn will try him out wide/striker like Tade. Someone to punt it in the pokey now from 5 yards now please John! :D

Also cheers for retracting my red dot. Much appreciated. :D

Was a decent cross as well (according to my dad, I missed the fucking goal going for a piss)

  4. Certainly we have enough players to play there, but I do worry about what we're going to do with it. No new additions to it, the loss of Russell and Sloan and it didn't exactly prove very good supporting the strikers for much of last season. Tade-Walker-Simmons-Smith on the top of their games would be brilliant, but Walker-Davidson-Simmons-Williamson on an off day would spell disaster.

The Smith-Walker-Simmons-Tade midfield would cause alot of teams problems. When playing alongside someone other than Davidson, Simmons can be very, very effective in midfield.

  5. Yeh, that's where I tend to agree as well. Rovers don't need someone who is going to run around a lot and has the option of being punted onto the wings whenever needed (like Johnny Russell), we need someone who can hold the ball up and get into positions where he can find the net regularly, like what Kris Boyd does and what Kevin Smith did.

Exactly. We need someone who can only be played as a striker. Im not unrealsitc, I know we cant sign an instant 20 goals a season player, just someone who isnt afraid to put their foot through the ball!

  6. Yeh, I wasn't very optimistic of him being a success in a Rovers shirt when I saw him play this season, even in the 3-0 defeat at Broomfield where he scored two goals IIRC. However, as we have seen from such cases as Gregory Tade and Dougie Hill, who knows how much McGlynn can get out of him?

I think he will probably be used in a number of positions (out wide, up front). Personally , I dont think its what we need right now, but Mcglynn really proved us wrong with the signing of Tade, so I shall reserve judgement.

  7. Went to the Brechin vs Airdrie playoff game tonight to see how the lad Baird got on.

Started off pretty well, played some neat passes and a few neat touches. As the game got on however, he started playing deeper and deeper and was almost playing at right back! He certainly isnt the out and out striker we crave. Seems a bit poweder puff, and going on first impressions, I dont think he looks that much different that who we already have.

I shall reserve judgement until I have seen him in a Rovers shirt though!
