  1. Absolutely. And he's not going to be up against a Walcott every week.
  2. Abraham is surely due a booking here, must be at least seven wee fouls he's been let away with.
  3. Massive fan of Charlie Adam stepping aside to save Brad Spencer the trouble of jogging around him in the build up to that one. Needed a great pass over, but the right back has got to be out quicker. Absolutely sublime from wee Cobra Kai, though. Delicious.
  4. It'll be lost in the aftermath of that unbelievable strike, but... Dundee switching off at another short corner is absolutely criminal. Massive let off (for 20 seconds) that the Rovers didn't punish them for it.
  5. I was thinking this too. Adam hasn't taken two touches all afternoon, every time the ball has been within a few feet of him he's fired it out to McMullan without thinking. It led to the goal and it's given McMullan a couple of chances to go at MacDonald, but he's taking absolutely no time to see what else might develop. Slowing it down a wee bit and playing a couple of shorter passes could easily give Adam the kind of shooting opportunity that got him the goal at Dens.
  6. And John McGlynn is so committed to meticulous preparation he heard that and brought in a brand new striker last night.
  7. Yer man from Spurs looks like he'll be absolutely fine at this level, at a minimum. A clear upgrade on a couple of the huddies who've bombed about the Dundee defence recently.
  8. Not quite sure what position Kennedy is taking up here. He's taking up that left wing role as the ball as being knocked about the backline, but when it goes wide to MacDonald he seems to be drifting inside and ending up deeper. It's really stopping us getting beyond the halfway line. We're clocking up the passes but they're all between our centre halfs and any of our central midfielders. Really struggling to get turned around though. Tait, Spencer and Vaughan all struggling to break through the lines. ...nevermind. Passing is over-rated. Just wait for Dundee to pay absolutely no attention whatsoever at a corner. Game on.
  9. Kieran MacDonald slips slightly and loses half a yard there and it's enough. Superb cross.
  10. It was fairly heavily rumoured that Dortmund were after him in the summer, for their U23s. Plenty young players who attract interest from the big fish turn out to be utter haddies, but it's really nice just to be back at a level of football where this kind of thing is possible. Gone (for now, they'll come back, such is life) are the days of loaning Pat Clarke from Dunfermline. Instead, our cup runneth over with the younger brother of an England international. Who cares if he's any good, he's much more fun.
  11. I don't know what you're all getting excited about, I just can't wait to see what Lincoln Mallett has to offer.
  12. In the way that a solar eclipse confuses birds, I think the altered league season has befuddled our Daylight Savings Time curse.
  13. Mate, what did you expect from the Rovers tonight? We had one striker available, who struggles with his fitness, on the back of a probable symptomatic Covid case. The striker Hearts brought off the bench almost certainly makes more money a week than the back five we finished the game with. You seem to be suggesting that John McGlynn wasn't bothered about tonight and threw in the towel. If that was the case, why did he play Lewis Vaughan instead of giving him another few days? They've gone out and done what they can to beat the side that will win this league at a canter. For the second time in four days. After one training session in ten days. Following a Covid outbreak. As has been mentioned above, the team really struggled to get out in the first half because Duku isn't a great hold-up striker. There was no alternative. As soon as Hendry went off there was no chance of controlling the midfield either. What did you expect? And don't give me clichés like "desire" or "wanting it more'. Please lay out the clear and obvious strategy that would've given the Rovers three points tonight. Or, you know, stick to replying to Facebook goal alerts with a wee angry face.
  14. Granted I only really started to notice him once Hendry had gone and there was more space to be exploited, but Irving was impeccable. Just exuded calm and picked some brilliant passes.
  15. I believe that's what Dundee fans call the "Sofien Moussa phenomenon".
  16. Oft, last touch of the ball to bring up Hearts -3 and two hundred bangers. I mean oh no what we got beat four nil oh no dang that really is oh no...
  17. No choice but to take Duku off, and I can't imagine McGlynn was keen to stick a laddie into this game. Try to get the full backs forward to snatch a chance and somehow miraculously get back into the game, and maybe provide a little more solidity at the same time. I think this is the defensive shape McGlynn probably envisioned playing in games like this when the season began. Probably reckoned on having a striker too though, right enough.
  18. Aye hard one for the ref but its poor from Duku especially when Raith are already a man down. Tiredness as much as anything else, I'm sure. He's rarely good for more than 60 minutes under normal circumstance, and the insinuation from McGlynn on Saturday ("we started the boys who didn't have symptoms") is that he suffered a little with Covid.
