  1. Matthews on for Spencer. Should help to combat this issue. Big save from Munro already, from - you guessed it - a breakaway.
  2. Our most promising attacks have culminated in crosses from the fullbacks, but there's nobody screening the defence, and we look very susceptible to counter attacks.
  3. Dylan Tait has been by far and away the best Rover on the park, which is a damning indictment of, well, everyone else. Both Hendry and Spencer have been particularly slack though. Need far, far more from Baird, Anderson and Gullan, too. They seem to be taking it in turns to do something half-decent. When one works, the other two turn off.
  4. I'm not saying this is the third week on the bounce I've said I don't have total confidence in Ross Munro... But it is. Forfar break from the second phase after a Rovers corner. Benedictus had ended up swinging in a cross from the right wing, and then Hendry was caught in possession. When Forfar broke, Watson was defending the centre on his own. Ball gets pushed to Forfar's right wing, where Spencer is covering left back. Cross over, Munro either doesn't get to it or only gets a weak punch, I'm not sure, but there's an empty net for the second ball to be headed into. All really came from being too bullish at the other end. But we might well need that kind of bullishness to get back into it now.
  5. Gullan is fourth in line at Hibs. Paul Heckingbottom only ever used one striker at a time, so he was happy to let Gullan go. Jack Ross is a little more adventurous, and I can't imagine he's happy to run with only three senior strikers. And although they'll almost certainly bring someone else in, Oli Shaw is angling for a loan move to another Premiership club who'll start him every week. All things considered, I'd be surprised if we see Gullan back after today. On the one hand, it's a real shame because he's come on leaps and bounds in his time with us. On the other, though, it's another example for John McGlynn and Raith Rovers to hold up to other managers. Stark's Park is a place where you can trust that your promising players will develop.
  6. Considering Peterhead's away kit, does Zen Archer have the restraint to not make a Pretty in Pink gag here?
  7. Finding out that Jamie Watson treasures a signed pair of Gregory Tadé's boots makes him my new favourite player.
  8. Is Longridge not rumoured to be leaving Falkirk because he's after more money? If that is the case, I'd be amazed if he ended up at Stark's. Decent player though. Couple more volleys like his effort against Rangers and he'll do just fine.
  9. Angry? For calling out your use of a word best left in the past? That's not anger, that's just common decency, pal. I've never set foot in the 200 Club, nor knowingly stood next to the esteemed Scottydog. Sorry if that doesn't fit in with your Rothschildian view of the Raith Rovers support.
  10. When the Titanic sank didn't it have more than one sailor aboard?
  11. I'm not an expert, but I believe with the (relatively) new rules on micro-company accounts, you'll see much less detail than you used to on the public accounts at Companies House. You'll be relying on the AGM for answers to questions like that.
  12. On the contrary, I'd suggest that he's probably more likely to cover the losses given the investment that has been made. Why spend an absolute fortune on a new pitch for a football club only to give up in it a couple of years later? I'd be amazed if, long term, John Sim's aspirations are for anything more than SPP to break even. For a man of his stature, there are much more painless ways to make whatever modest profits can be made from one hired out football pitch in Kirkcaldy. He's subsidising losses and making investments that should benefit the club in the long run. It's not ideal, and there's the ever-present "Colin Weir" Sword of Damacles that can scupper everything, but with reduced costs and improved revenues, even in League One, the club is moving towards sustainability.
  13. Looking at the highlights, it's clear what the penalty was given for. Lyle has two hands on Baird's back as he jumps. It's very soft, Baird's clearly looking for it, but there's no conspiracy.
  14. Greg Fleming was the undoubted man of the match. On another day, the Rovers could've had four or five by half time. But from the moment Fleming tipped his penalty around the post, Regan Hendry seemed to lose his way a little, and when Hendry isn't ticking, neither is the rest of the Rovers side. The second half was a lot more disjointed than the first, although there were still a few chances. Things threatened to get a little nervy with the red card. McKay's second booking came after he lost out on a 50/50 header. While it might well have been a foul, I've no idea why it warranted a booking. The referee had made a similar decision a couple of minutes previously when he booked Watson, and he seemed to be reacting more to the Peterhead player's burst nose than the actual challenge. Replacing McKay should, at least, be relatively straightforward. Either Anderson or Davidson will slot back in. It'll be interesting to see how we cope with the loss of Gullan, though. He offers a combination of drive and finishing that we don't really have anywhere else. It looks like Dingwall is the next in line, but his performances will have to increase markedly if he's to claim that number ten role permanently.
  15. Both of those yellows were soft. The first was probably borderline. It was a clear foul but it was very early in the game. The second, well, it was two boys jumping for a header and one coming off worse. Unless there was an arm up that I couldn't see, I've no idea how he's decided it's worth a booking.
  16. Fleming is having a stormer. Three or four tremendous saves already.
  17. Doesn't seem to actually make very many saves, does he? Both teams scoring with their first effort of any substance, but the Rovers have had all of the ball so far. Tait's strike was a beauty.
  18. Some pretty abhorrent stuff going on here. "Poor decisions were made all round." Fucking hell. There's victim blaming and then there's this. Have a fucking word with yourself.
  19. Despite increased revenue and reduced costs, the club lost £202,541 last year. Trending in the right direction, I suppose...
  20. It could be, if that made a single fucking lick of sense.
