  1. Cheers. I was pleased when we signed Miller, but I was growing a little concerned that McGlynn was using him in midfield instead. Very happy to hear he used proper fullbacks for the full 90 tonight.
  2. Difficult to say. Spartans haven't really offered anything at all going forward, so it's been an exercise in keeping the ball. Their keeper has had to make a few good saves in the second half. Up front, Anderson looks more dangerous than Allan, but Allan's hold up play could be very important this year.
  3. For others at the game - how would you describe this formation? Looks to me like a 4-4-2 with a little very narrow midfield diamond. You could throw a napkin over Hendry at the base, Miller just left, Matthews just right and Knox at the tip. Relies on the fullbacks to provide all the attacking width. MacDonald seems keen, but Watson's a little more hesitant.
  4. And with the news that Kieron Bowie's teammates have started calling him "Ziggy", we have the highlight of the season already. Ziggy hates the Pars, Jamming good with Davo and Bene, And the Rovers from Stark's... (I'm not normally very keen on crowbarring Dunfermline into Rovers songs, but that first line is just far too fitting to ignore.)
  5. Eusebowieo doing the business so far. It'll be a shame to lose him in January, but a million quid's a million quid.
  6. On the evidence of last season, which is admittedly scant in Sam McGuff's case, Forfar now have the best and worst goalkeepers in the division.
  7. Forgive me, I obviously didn't make myself clear. I'm not disputing that the stand hasn't been cleaned. I wasn't at the game yesterday, but I fully believe you when you say it hasn't been done. That's not what I'm asking. I'm asking you - given that the stand hasn't been cleaned - why do you believe that it hasn't been done by "the folk who are paid to do it"?
  8. Wait. Nobody answer him. Frank, why do you think that cleaning the stand isn't done by "the folk who are paid to do it"?
  9. I don't know these people personally, and I'm coming from an entirely uneducated point of view, but the "social media" photographer from last season is lightyears ahead of the "official" club photographer. Could we club together and at least get that guy a decent camera?
  10. Oh no. Why is the back panel a different colour to the rest? It's very "the t-shirt your auntie buys you at Christmas when you're nine but even then you know you'll never wear it".
  11. If there's something in the air tonight, You'll head it right, Fernandy.
  12. For f**k sake, it's 2019. You'd think if folk like that hadn't learned not be so moronic, they'd have at least learned to keep it quiet. In much more encouraging news, the FFP's photos from pre-season training show that Kieron Bowie (caucasian) has gotten himself a Davo-inspired blue rinse. Glad to see he's picking the right role models. I don't think I've ever wanted one of our young players to succeed more.
  13. It is still Puma. It was buried in this week's Rovers Digest that the kit delivery has been delayed by up to two weeks. The launch was originally planned for 20 June, and there's no new date yet.
  14. "You were so preoccupied with playing centre halfs at right back, you didn't stop to think about Matthews playing right wing again" or something. f**k sake! I'm going to greet. And judging by the interview, your question mark would be replaced by Bowie. It's a God awful small affair.
  15. Um, okay. So we're not getting many, if any, more new signings any time soon... The plan is for Grant Anderson to be used as the main striker for now, and it sounds very much like right-back is Dave McKay's to lose. Vaughan won't be back until September. Dingwall may be slightly later than that. We've offered a contract to Dean Lyness, but he's still to make up his mind. I trust John McGlynn entirely, but I didn't exactly love what I heard there. He's asking us to take a lot on faith.
  16. He'd be an ideal candidate for wing-back, certainly much better than a converted centre half. But as part of a back four, no. We need actual full backs!
