  1. I'd be quite happy for Grant Murray to become gaffer. He's your man at the club all day every day, and he's got Paul Smith there at times to be his real sounding board and be there for all the big decisions. As well as that you've got Craig Ireland running the Reserves with Laurie Ellis assisting him. Every chance Ellis could take on a lot of the Youth responsibilities that John McGlynn had. It's a neat wee management team.
  2. Courier seem pretty keen on Grant Murray. Same kind of language as the McGlynn to Hearts articles, "lined-up by the board" etc, usual stuff.
  3. I'm very pleased that he'll return to Stark's Park so soon. Deserves a proper send-off.
  4. McGlynn is no longer Rovers manager, Hearts have announced the appointment. A sad day.
  5. Every chance I'm very late to the party on this one, but I've just noticed the new name for the Old Firm forum. Gave me a very cheap laugh.
  6. He's not the Nessiah, he's a very naughty boy. And they have not taken kindly to the news on good ol' RM.
  7. McGlynn has consistently tried to sign wingers. Unfortunately, they've pretty much all been perma-crocks.
  8. I'll be pinging off an email tonight, more in support of Turnbull Hutton's stance rather than an ultimatum. It's important that the board know the position of the majority of fans, and that we appreciate being listened to.
  9. If the next Rovers manager is as good as John McGlynn I'll be absolutely astounded.
  10. Are any of our former youths playing senior football? The only one I can think of at the moment is Stephen Tulloch, and he pre-dates the McGlynn era.
  11. Away to Dunfermline for the first derby back, and for new year, again
  12. I got a retweet from Lynyrd Skynyrd the night they were in Glasgow. Pretty chuffed with that. It was something to do with being hungover, seeing Skynyrd, then starting another hangover. Also got a reply of "Good plan!" from @Skynyrd and one from some weird bloke telling me he lived in the largest "New Glasgow" in the world.
  13. I know the over-riding feeling amongst the Hearts fans is that they really don't fancy him. Any particular reason why? He's a good looking bloke.
  14. It's a money spinner. Ramsdens, for whatever reason, are pouring cash into it.
  15. You know what, I'd really like to see us do well in the Challenge Cup. Have we ever even won two games in the same season? It seems like we're always papped by Round Two.
  16. My favourite Davo moment was against Stirling Albion years back at Stark's Park. Robert Snodgrass (whatever happened to him...) dived over a perfectly legitimate Davidson challenge, and as he lay on the ground appealing to the ref, Davo turned around and smashed the ball into his face from a few yards away. Frankly, the treatment that all divers should receive.
  17. I bear no ill will to Iain Davidson. Rovers are cutting back and won't be anywhere near challenging. Frankly, Dundee could be offering less money and it'd still make more footing sense. Of all the things that Davo could be criticised for, loyalty isn't one of them. Who was the last player to manage eight years at the Rovers? I've no doubt that some folk will boo him when he visits Stark's, he's the sort of bloke you boo, but I won't be one of them. I'll be applauding him and Bairdy equally. And to answer my own question from earlier, McBookie have Dundee down as 11/4 favourites. Rovers are 33/1 with only Cowden and Dumbarton priced higher.
  18. Anywhere offering odds on the winners for next season yet? I'll be sticking a lump on Dundee.
  19. Of course, but that income should really be going towards servicing their debts like ours is. No point in crying over spilt milk, though. I think Davidson will be a massive loss, though. John McGlynn must, too, to have gone cap in hand to the board and asked them to up their offer to him.
  20. There's something about being outbid for two of our own players by Dundee that I find very, very distasteful.
  21. Yeah, it is an excellent interview. You get a real sense of just how meticulous John McGlynn is, with regards to the entire operation of the football club.
  22. In other news, when he's being a driving instructor, if Laurie Ellis doesn't use the tagline "Ellis for Learning" then he's a fool, a damn fool!
