  1. Good to see Cosgrove and Cowan return to their roots. Off the Ball was once billed as "a radio show that hates the Old Firm", I'm sure.
  2. School exams are stressful for a lot of people because, at that point, you have no idea of how they compare to anything else. They're basically the most stressful thing you'll do by that point in life. In hindsight, they seem like a piece of piss, but it's not like that at the time. Except for me, obviously. I'm fucking ace.
  3. Aye, Hissy follows a'body. He's such a Twitter slut. In other news, I got a retweet from one of the STV guys earlier. Wasn't even a tweet I sent to him.
  4. Do Ticketus not hold the key to a CVA? The list of creditors is lost away inside this thread, but if I remember correctly, more than 25% of the total amount owed is owed to Ticketus, and with a CVA requiring 75% support to go through, it can't be done without them. I can't see a CVA going through now, unless there's an agreement between Ticketus and whichever group takes over to pass a CVA at a certain level. I highly doubt that exists, and it'll be liquidation for The Rangers.
  5. Wait, I support a proddy club? Father O'Donnell's not going to be pleased when he hears about this!
  6. Right, Turnbull Hutton will never win any public relations awards, but the first half of this article is music to my ears. ''In my view, regardless of the end to the season, we should keep the manager. Who would be better to get us back up if we were to go down? He brought us up from the Second Division and I would have faith he could do that again. ''He knows the club, knows the board, knows the financial constraints he is working under and is very well connected. John has done a magnificent job at this football club. Every year he has moved this club forward, but this season we have had a bad year. That is not because we are a terrible team, it has just been a tough, dog-eat-dog division this year.'' I know that not everyone will agree, but that's exactly what I wanted to hear. John McGlynn for as long as possible, please.
  7. He has, just with his article in today's paper. An odd dig at the Rovers half way down, you can almost imagine him bawling "They've not got any money either! Who is he to judge The Rangers!?" It's just badly written. He's knocked the names of the three blokes, which he presumably lifted from Follow Follow, into Google and then reproduced the results. I hope this Thomson fella shames him.
  8. I hope not. It's almost funny, but not really. It's like it's highlighting that there's loads of comedy potential, without actually fulfilling it. I'm also not sure 800 tweets a minute is really that good an idea.
  9. You know what annoys me, among other things. People/newspapers writing "SKY" when they mean "Sky". It's not an acronym.
  10. That's shite patter, like. It worked the first time (well, first time I saw it) when Alex McLeish was doing shite at Rangers and the Aberdeen fans had the banner. You know, because they hate Rangers, and McLeigh used to play for them. It's rolled out far too often when it just doesn't apply. In other news, that'll be Rangers tea oot.
  11. I'm reading my way through the James Bond novels on my Kindle, and "You Only Live Twice" has been temporarily removed from Amazon, apparently so they can sort out some spelling mistakes or something. I don't suppose anyone on here happens to have it already, in an ebook format, that they could send to me? It's very annoying given how the last book ended!
  12. For longer than I'd care to admit, I thought Rosetta Stone was a woman who was just really into languages. Like Mavis Beacon teaches typing. And thanks to Google I've just learned that Mavis Beacon is fictional. Every day's a school day.
  13. The big advantage of Rosetta Stone is that you can borrow it off your Uncle Internet for nothing. For that alone it's worth giving it a shot and see how you do. I started Spanish at one point through little more than boredom and I was surprised at how much I retained, just basic stuff like animals and colours, etc
  14. I reckon, if we stay up, we should be looking at basically the same squad we have now, in terms of numbers (financially, in real terms, but for the terms of this discussion we'll say one in one out on players). Same expenditure, but with increased income from (hopefully) Dunfermline and Cowdenbeath games in place of County and QoS. I'd agree on taking on Thompson, if he's willing. I think he's as good as anyone else we'll pick up, and the time and effort required to scout another right back could be better spent elsewhere. I'd be delighted if we managed to sign Hugh Murray. I think he'll surface elsewhere, but he'd do a job for us in the middle of the park, quite possibly in place of his brother. Laurie Ellis still has a lot to offer. I wouldn't be opposed to, in theory, bringing in or promoting a very young center half to play in the first team alongside either Laurie or Dougie Hill each week. Both Ellis and Murray are nearly coaching-badged up to their eyeballs, and I'd love to see them stay at the club for as long as possible, imparting knowledge.
  15. I'm gutted to see the Binos at the bottom of the second. I've been to see them a couple of times this season and they haven't looked that bad! Obviously they were pretty woeful under Jocky Scott, but Greig McDonald's side look really unlucky to be where they are. Graham Weir still puts in all the work in the world but still doesn't look like he'd score if he was up against a Subbuteo goalie. Mark Ferry scored a lovely goal the last time I saw them, side footed it round the keeper from out by the corner of the box. I've just had a wee look, and according to Wikipedia (yeah, I know) Fez has more than twice as many league goals as Graham Weir does (58 compared to 28) in just three more games (250 compared to 247) You can use statistics to prove anything, but if you'd never seen Graham Weir play, you'd wonder how he ever managed to get a game for any club, nevermind forge a career in the game!
  16. Wouldn't be at all opposed to either of those two possibilities. Wallace looks to have had a barnstorming season with East Fife, twenty goals from thirty one games is impressive for anyone, nevermind someone who we last saw playing in midfield. As for the part-time/full-time stuff, I feel like we're well positioned to be "The Biggest Wee Team", picking and choosing the best part-time players. Guys like Dave McGurn who could go full-time but enjoy/need their work outside of football. Obviously I'm biased, but I think if we start taking on part-time players, there isn't a more attractive club for them to join.
  17. The short answer: Yeah, it was moved to the .net site linked above, and Google hasn't caught up yet. The long answer: No, I don't think anyone quite knows for sure. Best guess it looks like the club fell out with Jim Foy (or vice versa) who ran the old website. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that all the data on the old site was basically "owned" by Jim Foy, and that's why the new website is so devoid of historic content at the moment.
  18. I don't know why he's stopping there. He should have demanded that Rangers be awarded this year's league title, or he'll walk away.
  19. Just me, or was last night's episode bloody awful?
  20. They said they'd follow, follow, While the club did nothing but borrow, Craig Whyte is crooked, The **** are rookit, And they won't be here tomorrow!
  21. I don't know about anywhere else, I'd imagine it's similar, but at Stirling you've got to pay £45 to graduate. Originally I thought this was to cover costs for the ceremony, but it's still £45 if you graduate in absentia. I'm a little annoyed at this. Fortunately, I'm not in so tight a financial situation at the moment where I can't put together that much money, but I can envisage a situation where I (or others) might be. It just seems like a bit of a cheek to wait until the end, once you've actually completed every academic aspect, and then they demand £45 before you can actually graduate. If it's that important, stick an extra £45 on the tuition fee at the start of the year. I'd like to know what the justification for this fee is.
