  1. Nice one dave,j I love the way rangers fans (and plenty of ex-players and ex-managers and journos) all did a sharp U-turn when liquidation actually happened. It was incredible how they all suddenly changed tune on liquidation. But then they had to, didn't they? They had no choice. Embracing the "liquidation is not the end" line was pretty desperate - but drowning rats will bite on anything.
  2. All these sneaky terms from their fans like "54 and counting", "relegated", "when we're back", "what about leeds".... With a mentality like that it's no wonder that Green knew his sneaky newco/oldclub fudge would fly - he simply tapped into their snide psyche.
  3. Yes, I forgot about them!! Add them to the list. Very sneaky indeed. And also perhaps such terms act as a comfort blanket for those suffering the loss particularly acutely....(forever_blue - that's you! Any sign of that anger yet....)
  4. Sneaky use of "The", Hiding 5 stars down the side of the strip, Always talking about 'administration' and ignoring the L-word... ...what a classless bunch. They act like juveniles.
  5. Also, "The" was used for particularly sneaky reasons - some fans referred to "the rangers" in conversation pre-2012, just because of their own particular way of speaking. So Green was able to jump on the back of that. But more sneaky imo was using a prefix that would actually get in the way during general conversation - he knew fine well that people would soon want to stop that and just use the word "Rangers" simply to benefit the flow of the conversation. As I said, sneaky and lacking any dignity. In fact I recall Cowan and Cosgrove on radio Scotland a couple of years ago agreeing that they should stop trying to say "The Rangers" simply because it kept tripping up their conversations. So there you go - the only reason that (the new) Rangers get treated the same as the old Rangers is for the sake of conversation
  6. Great post citydave. I'd like to hear bennet's response to this (but not forever_blue's broken record response...) The use of 'The' is fundamental to highlighting the difference. Another sneaky point was at the start of their first season back in 2012 they weren't confident enough to display 5 stars on the front of the shirts so they HID it down the side. Then, after a good bout of them lieing like a broken record then they put them on the front of the shirts the following season (when they started thinking they'd got away with the Great Swindle...) - they really have no dignity.
  7. bennet, serious question: do you not find the antics of forever_blue just the slightest bit cringeworthy? he really does nothing to improve the image of your lot.
  8. Yes, that's what I mean! I reckon you are maybe 12, 13 at a push.....
  9. forever_blue, just wondering - are you a child? you certainly post like one...
  10. Yes, a recent tactic the rangers fans are adopting is to claim that the same thing that happened to them has happened to other clubs. Strange that they didn't shout this claim two or three years ago? Not that strange really because it's not true. They've just reached the stage of clutching at straws now... ....speaking of stages, Forever_blue - have you reached that Anger stage now????
  11. I suspect plenty rangers fans do believe it - it's easier that way.
  12. Yeah - but I thought that the authorities got sooooo much flack for passing Green and Whyte that they were forced to tighten up the rules a lot on what is considered "fit and proper". So makes you wonder how King with his previous connections to the old rangers and also his corruption problems in SA was somehow passed. I know this was covered at the time, but I didn't really get it it. Anyone know a succinct explanation for it?? thanks.
  13. Just a quick question re- Dave King. How could King be rated fit and proper if he'd previously been on the board of the old rangers that broke the rules? - was it just a time past thing or soemthing?
  14. Good point Enrico. I can't find you any articles that say liquidation is for company, not club. But I can find plenty coverage of Rangers fans telling Bill Miller to do one with his 'incubator company' trickery! Funny how the Bill Miller episode NEVER gets brought up post-Green.........
