I agree. But, why would he be jealous of the WRSJFA? All parties worked together to create what we have now and it's a credit to them all. We're now on the brink of opening the next chapter of a bright future for us all.Jealousy is a bad thing.0 -
What's it to you?How does everyone feel about leaving the juniors but still retaining there place in the junior cup?
Mon the papers-8 -
He'd make a good politician.
Waffled on a bit, said nothing we didn't already know and made it out to be all his own work.-1 -
Agreed, because what they heard was that they could keep their SJFA membership.Utter nonsense is you suggesting the majority of clubs are only applying because they can still play in the SJ Cup. Clearly the clubs who have expressed an interest and then applied did so because they liked what the heard.0 -
The utter nonsense is that you believe expressing an interest is the same as applying. Some clubs were obviously expressing an interest because, quite rightly, they wanted to know what was on offer from both sides.
Sorry, but that's utter utter nonsense. 46 out of 63 West Region clubs expressed an interest in joining the WoSFL before there was any suggestion of the Scottish Junior Cup still being available. That's 73% of the clubs. I suggest you research the word "majority".

By Tuesday, there will be 63 ex WRSJFA in the new WOSL.
The majority of which are only there because participation in the SJ Cup will continue.
This suggests to me that the SJ Cup is far from dead.0 -
I'm sure it's been mentioned that there was a show of hands at a GM asking if anyone did NOT want to join the Pyramid and not one hand was raised.

Name a club, any club, just one will do.Somebody would have to take the lead and start phoning round potentially like-minded clubs to see what their thoughts are. As has been mentioned previously, at least 17 clubs didn't initially express an interest in the LL-WoSFL.
Name a club that's thinking of staying.0 -
And where do you think the candidates will come from? Its a board that will be made up from within the league members that will ultimately oversee the the wosfl.these members need to be proposed and seconded every club will have a vote.for the candidate they wish.0 -
Yes, really.Really?
Where do you think the new management is going to come from?0 -
You've got me wrong then. I'm pro-Junior and pro-Pyramid. It is possible to be both. That's more for the likes of yourself that has tended to be more pro-Junior than pro-Pyramid.
I believe it's time to accept what's going to come about and time to put all the ill feelings and bitterness aside and work together to make this the best that it can be.4 -
Aye, c'mon, Glensmad, FairWeatherFan, parkcircus, etc, tell us why.Have the moaners said *why* their football life is suddenly going to be awful in the WoSL?
Thought not.0 -
Better get yourself all prepared for more heartbreak then.Another reason why the "old guard" which runs the current West Juniors organisation mustn't be allowed anywhere near a position of authority in the new league.1 -
Aye, as long as that view is against the Juniors. You're at it again... "you lot".
We're not all clones on here, you know. We have differing views!-1 -
They have a right to choose. They have been 'advised' to choose the Pyramid.Who is/are "you lot"?
While the majority view on this thread has been supportive of the move to the WOSL, most have also emphasised individual clubs' right to choose. There's a big difference between "should join" and "must join".
Some might say that any "remaining" clubs represent the true "breakaway", by their deciding to ignore the diktats from the WR management.
A Pyramid that they voted to join previously.0 -
Aye, like the ERSJFA leagues.Same future they probably already had. 20-30 game league season, a National cup, and some other regionwide cups.
People seem to forget that the most of the regions, the SoSFL, EoSFL, NCL, and HFL played in small leagues for decades.
The same leagues that you lot call insignificant and that the teams in it would be better off in the EOSL.0 -
That's just it.Absolute nonsense. glensmad is spot-on.
There will be at least 10, probably nearer to 20 clubs who believe they are trapped into doing this because they've been told there's nowhere else to go. They would far rather stay junior teams in a junior league, but have been scared into believing no one else feels the same and they'll be left behind if they don't go.
If any decide to stay, what kind of future would they have?
A few weeks ago, the WOSL was the greatest thing ever thought of and you lot were shouting from the rooftops that everyone should join.
What changed?1 -
That's how votes work though. Not all the clubs voted in favour of joining the pyramid back then. I know mine didn't. We changed our mind, but that doesn't mean everybody has.
Some you win, some you lose. But once the count is over, that's the decision.
Your attempt at claiming that clubs are going in against their will is clearly false.0 -
They made their choice a few years back, when they voted to join the Pyramid. They did have a choice. But they have been told that they don't.
That is what is happening now.0 -
Only because I think that may think it better to remain as a big fish in their own pond than swimming over the dam into a loch filled with even bigger fish.why?
Or in the case of Bonnyton, leaving a tier 6 league where they could end up in a 3 way play-off to join tier 6 conferences where they'd need to win a 4 way play-off to get into the 3 way play-off. Which might also once the 1st season is over see them at tier 9 if things go badly for them. That's why.0 -
Probably once these clubs realise that they will be pitched in with the 63 clubs from the WRSJFA, they'll maybe have a wee re-think.Surprised at the lack of (public) non junior applicants so far. In recent times there's been talk of Oban Saints, Rothesay Brandane, Bonnyton Thistle, Glasgow Uni and Strathclyde Uni. Don't know how much of these rumours were substantial and, obviously, clubs don't need to announce publicly but I thought we'd see more by now.
Get a move on Dunoon-2 -
Boyd said that they were leaving Abbey Park.A couple of people have named Kilwinning as definitely leaving the SJFA (or at least giving up membership) - the last update 3 days ago says they haven't and had planned a supporters meeting prior to deciding.
The fans didn't like it.
The Buffs are now at Pennyburn.
Boyd says that they're leaving the Juniors.
The fans might not like that either.
Guess what happens.0 -
Better ask someone from the ERSJFA or EOSL.Genuine question, are you aware whether or not the same rule will also apply to current ERJFA clubs, i.e. applying for the EoSFL whilst retaining SJFA membership and participation in the Junior Cup? And could ex-juniors in the EoSFL re-apply to join the SJFA whilst staying in the EoSFL?0 -
Aye. Ok.
I'm not sure there was, to be honest.1
