  1. There really isn't any ambiguity here though. All the former Junior teams from West Lothian that moved into the Pyramid have moved into the East of Scotland league. All the former Junior teams of the East Region that Whitburn were happy to compete against for many years have moved into the East of Scotland league. The West Lothian teams that have put loyalty to the Junior totem over progress on and off the football park have fared very poorly over the past couple of seasons. I just hope the Eos and WoS don't indulge these clubs misplaced obsessions.
  2. What about Real Bo'ness. That should clear up any confusion
  3. I couldn't find a "constitution" document but in Policies and Procedures on the EoSFL site it does state as its mission "The Mission Statement for The East of Scotland Football League is "To develop, foster, co-ordinate and sustain Association Football at Club and League level throughout the East of Scotland area”." This isn't defined anywhere else in the documents and, for instance, the words Lothian or Fife, don't appear anywhere
  4. Is there any mention of areas covered in either the East or the West League Constitutions?
  5. Fauldhouse have no plans to join the EoS and expect to carry on in their joint suicide pact with the rest of the West Lothian juniors.
  6. Don't know and we certainly never heard any answers to the questions. It's just a week ago and al of us with an interest in EoS football whether as players, coaches, committee, supporters or those on the fringes of bubbles directly involved. Here's what I had planned to write to kick off the thread which was subsequently deleted __________________________________________________________________________________ I have some concerns about how clubs, East of Scotland and SFA are dealing with their responsibilities surrounding Covid precautions Football has been given a privilege, extended to non League football, that allows football to continue during the pandemic. I know elsewhere some people have voiced concerns about that but FWIW my view is that it has been a worthwhile compromise so long as football plays its part in keeping all involved as safe as practicable. We all know that clubs have operated behind closed doors. Matches have gone ahead on the understanding that clubs follow certain protocols in terms of changing rooms, temperature checks and a strict record of all people involved in matches to aid Track and Trace should ever the need arise. Well the need for Track and Trace has arisen. Musselburgh hosted Blackburn Utd on Saturday 26 Dec. The match followed all the usual protocols and records taken. On Monday, Blackburn players and coaches were informed that they needed to self-isolate following one of the Musselburgh players testing positive. Blackburn cancelled training and followed the instruction. I noticed a post here today that suggested that Musselburgh had had a training session at the Oriam on Monday. Musselburgh were due to host Tranent in a league match today. That match was going ahead until a pitch inspection called the game off. This raises a LOT of questions for me and I’m sure for everyone with an interest in EoS football. When did the player have the test? If the test was undertaken prior to the match on Saturday do the protocols require a player to sit out until they have a negative test? When were the Musselburgh players and coaches informed of the positive test? Were they informed immediately by the player or only when Track and Trace became involved? Were all the Musselburgh players and coaches contacted by T&T and told to self isolate? Did any players or coach ignore this instruction to train on Monday? Were the EoS informed and when? Did they make any decision on fixtures involving Musselburgh and Blackburn that are due to fall during the self isolation period (including a decision to “do nothing”)? Were the SFA informed and what did they have any comments to make on any aspects of the process or footballing implications? Following some early high profile breaches amongst some SPFL sides the SG issued football a “Yellow Card” regarding future breaches. I don’t see a problem if all involved had done exactly what everyone here would expect they should do. Players and coaches self isolate. Training sessions are postponed. Matches involving both clubs are postponed. After the requisite period both clubs resume and everyone moves on. However, if a club, league or even SFA have done anything that tries to cover up or undermine that process then we run a real risk of non-league football losing the privilege it has been granted, it could easily be seen as that serious. I understand that following Saturday’s match, a Blackburn player has now tested positive for Covid. NB I am NOT involved with any club in any capacity but am at the outside edge of a bubble of a player affected by this.
  7. I'd written this in the Covid and EOS Clubs thread which was deleted The point is that football contact is not like other normal outdoor contact. And here are a couple of quotes from reports you can find if you google fooball and Covid
  8. Examples given of reasonable excuses to go out include as a specific example "for those involved in professional sports, for training, coaching or competing in an event."
  9. Do you know what the story is at Musselburgh on this? If Blackburn players and coaches from the game on Saturday have been told to self isolate surely it's the same situation at Musselburgh?
  10. I don't get this. EoS has been granted the privilege of continuing playing. Procedures are put in place to restrict numbers at games and record EVERYONE present for precisely this eventuality. Track and Trace kicks in EVERYONE gets contacted just as if they had been to the same pub back when they were open. EoS should be shouting loud and clear that this has happened and both teams will be required to stop training and games until the 10 day period has passed. They should make a virtue out of the process actually doing exactly what it has been set up to do! Here's hoping that the player or players involved make a swift and full recovery.
  11. Blackburn cancelled their training! Scheduled fixture on Sat v Camelon is already posponed becasue of their Scottish Cup tie. From gov.uk here's what self isolate means "must stay at home and self-isolate for 10 days from their last contact with the confirmed case"
  12. ok but surely all the Musselburgh squad from Saturday are required to self isolate?
  13. I understand that Blackburn utd players and coaches were contacted on Monday requiring them all to self isolate following Saturday's match with Musselburgh. Has tonight's game v Tranent been postponed? It's still showing on the EoS site.
  14. Listening to Jason Leitch on Off The Ball yesterday it appears that all the discussion with SFA is around crowds returning to SPFL grounds. He was answering a quesiton comparing attending a match (live) and watching the same match in a cinema. He said that when taking into account all the stewarding and attendant requiremnts for managing a football match and he said it was into the hundreds before you get a fan in, whereas a cinema simply doesn't need all that. So who is speaking up for non league football? Clubs could be required to make it all ticket to a small number say 100-200 where spectatorss are required to wear masks, have the track and trace app on their phones, stay 2m apart. Referees and assistants required to comment on compliance and sanctions for non compliance. At the moment it feels like "behind close doors" is a gesture pure and simple and a pointless one at that.
  15. Is there a set date in December for Lowland League teams to get their free withdrawal pass by? How does this affect the Scottish Cup as teams had to indicate they would withdraw early without any penalty? Looking at the Lowland League table for last season and this, Vale of Leithen have played a total of 33 games and lost 29 of them with a combined GD of -112. Surely teams need to find their level?
  16. Tynecastle FC v Blackburn Utd streaming via Tynecastle's Facebook page tonight from 7:15pm
  17. Got to say the stream was perfectly watchable, especially streamed to the tv rather than laptop. Maybe need to turn the microphone down though
  18. Is it still a full time position? What is the job description? Was the post advertised or just jobs for the boys?
  19. The financial report up to 31st April showed £12,100 in honoraria. Then the extra financial report for the 3 months from 1st May to 31st July showed a further £12,600 in honoraria. This was the period after the clubs had all agreed to move to the WoSFL. That looks like the sort of financial shenanigans that would have Donald Trump blushing. Imagine there could be a few lottery style winners when the SJFA is wound up
  20. Please don't! It'll only end in another punishment for Hearts
  21. I'm guessing it was this https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/exclusive-sfa-step-non-league-22354539
