  1. Mackie. The manager was very bullish pre season, all his signings were ex SPFL stars from the West. For me Syngenta are the surprise package, Bo'ness Ath already looked to have potentiial last season. I thought Whitburn, Armadale and West Calder would be tough nuts to crack too
  2. This is a Blackburn perspective but hopefully not completely blinkered. Teams at the bottom simply lose the winning habit. Blackburn went into the game against Sauchie midweek as "favourites" with points on the board and they were poor. Sauchie, even with 10 men, looked like holding on to their win. Blackburn went into the game again as "favourites" but Whitehill dominated the first half. Two similar looking goals, clever work from the striker, Blackburn not at the races and Whitehill looking very good value for their lead. Second half Blackburn start a wee bit better and doubt starts to show in Whitehill's play. They had a huge chance of a 3rd with a near repeat of the move that saw the first two goals but blew it. It wasn't a dirty game but fouls creeping into Whitehill's game and some loss of discipline with a lot of dissent towards the officials. The red card was for a second yellow, looked a foul but maybe the ref had seen the boy foul a few times. Whitehill decide to hold on to their lead and drop deep and 87th minute Blackburn have a free kick and in front of the ref the full back hauls down the Blackburn centre half. The equaliser and winner were both very fine strikes from outside the area (I think!) giving the goalie no chance. A bit unreal but just had a sense of something could still happen even at 85 minutes and 2 down. Whitehill looked really decent the first half but FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) in the second, Blackburn with the brakes off at the end looked dangerous with waves of attacks. Some win for Blackburn and a very sore one for Whitehill to get over.
  3. So the EoS have fixtures on the dates allocated for rounds 1 and 2. I can't see them being cancelled to allow SJC games, so what then? I assume SJC replays will be binned, but what about postponements, when do these get played? So do the WoSFL as far as I can see Who s organising this piss up?
  4. There's already league fixtures posted for both the EoSFL and WoSFL for 21 Aug
  5. Especially as they already have a fixture on the same day King Cup 2nd round away to Kirkcaldy 25 Sep on the Fauldhouse FB page
  6. The Scottish National team is NOT the priority for the OF Colts side. If there is any benefit at all it would be purely coincidental. Just look at the signing Celtic made specifically for the Colts side. An 18 yo from Scunthorpe, born in Scunthorpe and no mention at all of a possible Scottish granny. https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/celtic-dawson-scunthorpe-united-transfer-5545457
  7. Fauldhouse Utd 3-2 Leith Athletic Fauldhouse came out flying and were 2 up in about 5 minutes. Took Leith a while to adjust to Fauldhouse good aggressive and pacey style but when Leith pulled 1 back though they looked to have found the pace of the game and it was maybe against the run of play that Hoose went 3-1 which they held till half time. Second half Fauldhouse fell away as they introduced a lot of subs and Leith looked very good in control and fluid in their play across the park. Good game to watch
  8. Brechin City announce Dominic Cummings as their new Manager ..... well it's just as batshit crazy as every other stunt they are trying to pull
  9. If they really wanted to get it right up certain W Lothian clubs they would have let them go west to appease their "travel" concerns and given them a weekend trip to Campbeltown for a game for the indefinite future
  10. Surely it's the teams who voted in FAVOUR who should turn down the money? This would show they voted to help out the OF out of principle NOT just for the cash
  11. For those of us enjoying the banter between Che and Marten Dutchsplaining /ˈdchspleɪnɪŋ/ noun informal noun: dutchsplaining the explanation of something by a self appointed expert in Dutch football, typically to a person from the Netherlands, in a manner regarded as condescending or patronizing. eg "your response about Cruyff is classic Dutchsplaining"
  12. FTFY, Sky always give them their Sunday name
  13. Imagine if this OF Colts proposal had NO money attached to it. Would clubs be in favour? If not then the LL is whoring itself about and the only thing they are haggling about is the price
  14. In more need "to get their stories straight news". SFA slam the inaccuracies in Rangers' PR puff piece on Colts into the Lowland League https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/sfa-hit-back-rangers-over-24063330
  15. What a piece of nonsense! The Lowland League acting as a playground for the Old Firm? GTF! This really stinks
  16. That would be as silly as forcing the clubs who voted to continue to have to cram in all those fixtures in June too
  17. That's a bit silly Season starts 17 July There are 23 (twenty three) saturdays before Christmas from the start of the season. You can comfortably incorporate half a dozen midweeks amongst that too. Seems wise to me to prioritise league fixtures to reach 50% of games played as early as practicable. That could be early November at one game a week. No burn out. Some spare room for postponements. Once we reach 50% time to introduce the Cup fixtures. Looking forward to it!
  18. Dev .... it's Null AND Void With the season now voided we are back to the same position we were in before a ball was kicked. You could look at the league table and all the teams would be there, in alphabetical order. If we were to promote a team at the top on that basis THEN things would really kick off on this forum
  19. Fauldhouse planning to run a U20 team next season. There's an interview on BlackDiamond FM with the ex secretary taking about the plans
  20. The Lowland league plans to start next season on 17 July. Last season the EoS only got underway on 10 Oct. That's an additional 12 Saturdays and maybe 6 midweeks of a difference. Even if next season is as affected by lockdown there will be the opportunity for an additional 18 fixtures and a good chance supporters will be back in to see them.
  21. That's the argument for getting next season underway in July, as soon as practicable. Starting early provides more contingency if there are further lockdowns and greater likelihood of reaching a 50% of fixtures threshold
  22. Just on that point surely one thing we have learned from the past 2 seasons is to expect the unexpected. What if we have further lockdowns in Winter 2021/22? Or what if there are any unexpected and unanticipated interruptions to next season? The chances of reaching 50% of fixtures next season should surely be a very strong consideration for the start date of 21/22 season?
  23. I haven't seen this mentioned in the discussions so far but a consideration for those looking to cram in fixtures to complete the season. One of the last EoS matches to be completed before the current lockdown resulted in a full team and officials having to isolate. If this were to happen again in any restarted season then the frequency of fixtures could mean that 2, 4 or 6 squads could have to isolate depending on when a player tests positive. Of course players knew this at the start of the seaosn but the reality of having to miss work because of a football match was quite a reality check for some of the players involved.
