Montrose fans done something similar a few seasons ago, decided to make a night of it in Belfast on the fright before the relatively short journey across to Stranraer for the game on the Saturday. One slight issue was that the game ended up being postponed.

We haven’t had any huge fees that I’m aware of but I’m pretty sure we got 5 figure fees for Martin Rennie and Blair Lyons in the last few years and we would have got a decent amount of money for a club of our size when Martin Boyle went to Saudi Arabia too.

I’m sure some others will be along to give some more in depth analysis but I find that he’s the type of centre back you don’t really notice much in a game. Just a solid, tidy player who isn’t going to come bursting out of defence with the ball and isn’t really prone to many errors (although I haven’t made many games this season so perhaps there’s been a change in his game) I suspect that he’ll turn out to be very good signing for you lot.

Could be any number of reasons, he’s local so it could be something as simple as training arrangements or something. It’s not as if it’s uncommon for a player to drop down a league at this level.

Kyle Gourlay was a name I had heard mentioned but that could be lazy speculation given that he is fairly local and out of contract at the end of the season.

Can’t say I’d shed any tears if Gardyne decided he wants to jack it in. All easy for me to say but we need at least a goalkeeper, a centre back, probably 2 in midfield and another striker in. If we could then find another defender that can cover both central and left back and they’re all of a decent standard for this level then we can hopefully kick on again next season.

Yeah they aren’t coming across well in this at all. The other 3 could have just spent the 45 minutes telling Si Ferry that they want to suck him off and it would have been about the exact same amount of insight and analysis.

Yeah it’s almost definitely because of the international games, the 4pm kick off still shows in the black out time. Can’t see any reason why Brechin couldn’t have shown the game if they wanted to.

I actually quite like Si Ferry, spoke to him quite a few times at games between Peterhead and Montrose and he always seemed decent enough and also quite enjoyed the earlier 1 to 1 interviews he was doing with the podcast. Was very predictable that the Broomhill thing would go the way it has though, the league position in itself is hardly a disaster but the vanity project it was intended to be has clearly failed. Hopefully now he makes the decision between either being a coach or a media personality and doesn’t try to combine the 2 as that almost definitely will not work.

Glad I’m not the only one feeling this way. I know it’s easy for me to say as I sit on my fat arse at home but there’s a few in there I’d be backing myself to save despite having played about 8 games in goal in my life.
