It’s a sorry state of affairs when I’m getting a sense of relief at seeing Alloa go behind.

I’m so glad we’ve reverted to the tried and tested midfield duo of Chalmers and Murdoch.

Hi Pep. James has literally never played centre mid for Chelsea. He did for Wigan on loan. Havertz came on for Giroud to play in the front three. The two midfield berths were filled by Kovacic and Jorginho, then Kovacic and Kante. Not surprised to see you talking a huge power of shite.

That’s just rubbish. He’s clearly next in line after Kante, Kovacic and Jorginho. Tuchel even said as much. Havertz has a very different role in that team and James has never played centre mid for Chelsea.

Tuchel clearly doesn’t trust him as much as Lampard did. He should have went out on loan but hindsight’s a wonderful thing.

If he really thinks it all boils down to us not taking chances then I don’t have much hope of things turning around soon. I sincerely hope he’s just trying to take the heat off the players there.

We’re sitting in the relegation places despite the pre-season target being the play-offs. The team look spineless and Kerr has shown no signs of being able to get the best out of what looked like okay signings. That’s both Anderson and Cameron doing far better at their next clubs than they did here. We could end up in the promotion play-offs, yes. We could also easily end up back in League One with the last 4 seasons work undone. The “negativity” patter is nothing but baseless happy-clapping.

The 4-3-3 served us fairly well last season as well, and actually worked alright the last time we played Dundee. I’d try this with Miller marking Adam again. You make some good points, but the bit in bold is the problem. It’s up to Kerr to get the signings to work. When it’s one or two not working out you can forgive it, but when it’s several of them there’s only one common denominator there.

How is that really relevant when the budget he had at County will dwarf anything he’ll get at Ayr? There’s nothing to suggest he’d be any good at trying to get the best out of this squad.

Surely no one here is seriously suggesting Stuart Kettlewell? He got a team with a massive budget promoted (as co-manager), then the next season County were two points above the relegation places when the season was stopped - again as co-manager. He then got sacked after half a season as the sole manager. There’s absolutely nothing there to say he’d be any less of a punt than Kerr was.

Who would the caretaker even be if it happened? As far as I know the coaching team consists of Mick McArdle and Derek Stillie.

It’s honestly baffling how undroppable Murdoch and Chalmers are no matter how badly they’re playing.

These subs and the change of shape just seems like a coaching team completely devoid of ideas. It’s lost the plot territory.

The attacking play could be better but we’ve still had a few close calls. The big issue for me is the Caley attack bypassing our midfield and getting a free run at the defence - something that’s been happening all season.

He wasn’t called up earlier in the season when he was in good form. He isn’t even starting at the moment so there’s nothing nailed on about it.

There’s been a lot of highlights on this thread the past year, but I think @D.A.F.C. having a go at others for constant whining tops the lot.

Over 1500 second doses given out yesterday as well, think that’s the highest it’s been by a distance. Good progress.
