I’m all for being positive but there’s an incredible level of arrogance among many every time we’re drawn into a qualifying group. We love to bash England fans for it but some of our lot are just as bad. I remember after Euro 2016 everyone proclaiming how shite Ireland were and that we were much a better team (I was one of them admittedly). Everyone thought we would body Wales home and away when 2014 was drawn. After the 2020 draw many were saying we had an outside chance of challenging Russian for second. We never got close to them. It’s a very favourable draw and we absolutely should be competing with Denmark (and Austria), but there’s no point in setting unrealistic demands either. History suggests we’ll be in with a shout but have a shiter of a result away from home against one of the lower seeds. Just like Israel last month. Some people just never learn. We made a lot of progress in the last 6 games with some good performances, but in a group stage format it would have equated to 8 points from 6 games. Alright but hardly top of the table consistency.

They stopped that a short while ago, away fans can get right up to the fence again. You can bam up the opposition till your heart’s content now.

I must have higher standards than most on here - I thought that was utter pish. Our front line has plenty of ability and so is liable to create chances but the midfield was really disappointing. Murdoch probably needs more time after a year out, but I don’t think that middle 3 are complimenting each other much at all.

Kerr is the obvious person to sit deep in midfield but he seems to be avoiding playing unless absolutely necessary. Muirhead can do it as well but we need him at the back unless we sign another centre half.

Hardly anyone in this league has money. Kerr was fairly well backed in the summer given the circumstances we find ourselves in and we had a more ambitious transfer window than most teams in this league. As for “only lost one league game” and “topped our league cup group” - we’ve also only won one more than we’ve lost and we had the lowest points total of any side to qualify from the group stages (including the second placed sides) despite being in a group with Hamilton and 3 League 2 sides. Add to that performances have largely ranged from uninspiring to just pure shite, apart from 80 minutes against Morton where we still ended up shitting the bed anyway. It isn’t “time to go” but it isn’t looking good by any stretch either. I’m saying this as someone who stood up for Kerr a lot last season.
