  1. To explain the recent transfer movement. Sean McKirdy and Archie Campbell were always coming to the club in the summer. Kyle Wilson intimated he wasn’t quite settling, we heard he spoke to some boys at Dundonald and he’d be interested in heading there. We then fastracked Archie with a swap deal. All parties happy. Again Sean was a deal that could be done before the summer with Scott TM leaving so he could play more, again all parties happy. This gives the 2 new boys a couple of months to get in, know the demands and settle for next season. We felt the business to boost the squad for next season should be done early to avoid auctions, other teams nipping in and players upping their demands due to speaking to a host of clubs. Players to help the squad for next season have been identified, researched, reported on from January. Theres 4 pre contracts signed, they will join in May, the squad is now complete for this season coming. We can all enjoy our summer knowing that’s the case.
  2. Injured, he’s on holiday for a week also. Booked last summer as a birthday treat. Brian is missing 2 matches, a stag and wedding. Dazzler missed tonight due to being in London.
  3. EK have been far too consistent, the best team thus far which isnt surprising given the experienced SPFL boys they have in their ranks that would strongly test most League 1 clubs. Only 9 goals conceded all season. Fair play, a well run club with a real desire to engage with their community, invest in their facilities and try and improve on and off the pitch.
  4. The one that the referee was on the phone too. Jesus, iv no need to lie. "Took ages at interval breaks" bloody hell, the U20 team havent been beaten all season, why suddenly time waste at half time and extra time and not play penalties. You have went from "dont quote me on this" to a full blown rant "not true in the slightest" Heriot Watt should have organised the game in plenty time for extra time and pens, they are to blame. Not Kelty. Their players should be fuming with whoever organised the kick off time, not Kelty.
  5. Not true, we all waited inside for the penalties but were all told the u20 League Secretary and the referee having spoken to the league secretary refused for this to happen.
  6. What a load of pi** that is. Our Secretary called Camelon Secretary yesterday and asked if they would like us to help them in being re-instated back into the competition in our place. You play an inelidgible player in a competition then its a given you are out.
  7. East Fife announced his release at tea time. We put out a wee teaser, 2 plus 2. We had been speaking to Scott for a few days so it wasn’t a big secret within the local circles.
  8. Scheduled to play Oakley, confirm on Social Media tomorrow.
  9. Christie 1 match tomorrow. Scott’s banned for the Edusport match. Ban starts on 19th but it’s a 1 game LL match ban meaning he misses the following weeks match.
  10. Of course there would be a stumble of sorts with results he was very successful. We backed him like no other manager in our history and he got the results on the pitch for the club. He will go on to have a good career in football I’m sure. The club as a whole certainly hasn’t stumbled. He resigned and had been thinking of it from the summer, all the management staff stayed on as they enjoyed it at Kelty and we appointed a new manager with new ideas of which we as a club and the staff that stayed on agree with going forward. It was always going to be difficult for anyone following Tam as he had done so well.
  11. You might want to speak to the board up there. It is 1 of the highest in the league I’m afraid. There’s 2 strikers you signed in the summer on £26,000 per year between them, 2 year deals. That’s £52,000 over 2 years. You guys had the begging bowl out last year all over the media Its none of my business what other clubs do and I’m no one for engaging this much online but when some have a go at us then it’s only fair people are allowed to come back.
  12. It is got something to do with it when the thread is bombarded with Cowdenbeath fans giving their opinions and views on our club and how we go about our business. It’s quite fair for our side to scrutinise the job that’s being done over the road, surely or does that touch a nerve.
  13. No getting that one, we are a scalp for teams same as EK Spartans etc are due to various reasons, thats reasonable to assume? Even more so now with the new management team? That’s also fair, no? Its not arrogance it’s just the way it seems to be, most people thought we wouldn’t win the league but finish top 4, some even had us outside the top 4 on here, the bookies seemed to agree with the former. 1 fan had a stupid remark in the paper to which they latched onto so “fans” no need to exaggerate to suit your agenda. We make decisions for the best of the club, we will contact to do so. This is the last I’m saying on the football side, my post before this one explains where we are at for anyone who’s interested.
  14. Bookies dont usually get it wrong East Kilbride at 9/4 we’re favourites due to their strong experienced squad, we were 4-1 playing in an alien league with new grounds . A top 4 finish from the outset was our target for the management and players, the boys are on course for that. We lost a successful manager at his own request, we appointed a high profile manager who is hungry to succeed. The landscape completely changed for us from those 2 situations almost over night. Kelty will always be a scalp same as EK and Spartans but possibly even more now given the management team. Getting to the SPFL is very competitive given the odds on winning the league and then the play offs. Any reconstruction could obviously change that. We know where we are, we have a clear plan in what we need to do and we know how long it will take. We are also happy to take a bit flak for every draw or defeat from some who like to dish that kind of stuff out on a forum or social media. Not my style personally but we are all different I suppose. As a club we will always look to improve on and off the pitch at all times and we like to think we know what we are doing, I’m sure on and off the pitch the last decade backs that up.
  15. You looking for a job? there’s a company I know looking for good salesmen
  16. When Kelty go in for a player they like, do you think clubs just free them, even if they got them for nothing ? Kelty have to pay over and above the going rate of everyone else. Your in business James, players are assets of the club, we invest in all our players. Kit, Facilities we provide, money we give them for Xmas nights out, the buses for away travel, Hotels away for big matches, pre match meals on long trips, the list could go on. We get the fact we have to pay over the odds for players and accept that but don’t be fooled we won’t ask the going rate for our players. We had to pay for Shak, a player we lost for nothing 6 months ago, Dundonald got him for nothing, they didn’t just give us him because he wanted to come back to us.
  17. Aye that’s good business freeing players, when Kelty go in for players there’s at least a grand over and above their true value put on their head. We paid a substantial amount to Arthurlie for Ian just over a year ago. Doesn’t work like that I’m afraid.
  18. We had 4 boys call off 1st thing this morning with Flu. Hubby, Skip, Ross and Errol, few more played with symptoms. Kelty in control up until the red card, a cracking match with amazing scenes at the end for both sides. Highlights will be worth waiting for that’s for sure.
  19. On this page we have had posts and opinions from supporters of Cowdenbeath, Linlithgow, Boness, East Stirlingshire, Falkirk and Clyde. Got to take the interest as some sort of compliment.
  20. Quite possibly he’s learned from that experience like he has openly admitted. I haven’t seen any fall outs thus far, he’s actually went over and above the call of duty on a few occasions helping some of our players. He will get more support in the background and a bit of stability at Kelty than I think he did at Clyde which I left him frustrated. I’m sure we won’t go through a ridiculous number of players in a short period. He always said he was happy with the squad but (as was planned by the last manager also) a couple were always going to be added to help us on our way. That will most likely be us till the summer barring any injuries.
  21. Fair assessment Gogsy.. We have a clear plan going forward at Kelty over the next 2 to 5 years, if we get bids on players from other clubs then the board and management have the right to accept or refuse them. If players want more game time they are also well within their rights to ask to leave. Players leaving will also have their view which is what Jimmy G is more than likely hearing from his neck of the woods. The squad has been strengthened in some areas where we were knew we were short in due to the difference in the Lowland League, this was going to be addressed even before the new management team came in ie in balance with the number of central midfielders, pace, legs on bigger pitches and some creativity in the final 3rd to help the existing squad. The manager has introduced 2 x 19 year olds from the 20’s who complement those strengths and as it stands are now regular starters and deservedly so. That means naturally some players will find it tough to get the game time they desire. The boys have done ever so well this season getting into the top 4 as it stands, that was the goal at the start of the season made all the more impressive after taking the hit of losing a manager that brought them all here and shared success in the Juniors over 4 years. We are thinking of holding a meet the manager/board night at the ground for season ticket holders early this year to share the plan off the pitch and the new management teams vision for the future on the pitch, it should enlighten people to any decisions being made.
