  1. Basic errors, poor decision making, loose set piece. They were there for the taking too. England will hammer us but we have a chance of winning the other two home games I reckon. Depending on injuries, of course.
  2. He either thinks our backs are 8 foot tall or tries to kick through non existent gaps. But then he flips a wee pass out to the winger for the Swinson try. He's so infuriating. You can argue about the ref all day but we've been out muscled in every scrum and at the majority of rhe breakdowns and our backs haven't been able to get too many breaks going forward. Losing bonus point might be the best reward we get here.
  3. You get 90 seconds after a try and the clock is still running. AFAIK there isn't the same rush for penalties - one minute from when time goes back on I think?
  4. The ref hasn't been as bad as some folk are making out - we aren't engaging well enough at the scrum and our set piece in general has been iffy with a few poor line outs on top of ragged scrums. A lot of the offside calls look borderline but with the blitz defence it always looks worse. If the ref has rushed Russell he should have went for the drip kick rather than resetting the tee and trying to rush the place kick. Such a basic error.
  5. If the current Hibs squad would be comfortable in the top 6 of the Premiership then the top flight is a lot worse than I remember it being. And thus is taking into account the crazy monet they're throwing about in their third attempt to get out the division and the laughable "emergency" loan of a Scotland international.
  6. I don't get how having Hibs and United in the top flight would automatically make games more attractive either. If United came up and were utterly dreadful, how is a game where they are tanked by Aberdeen any more interesting than seeing Aberdeen at Ross County or Hamilton? Just because there might be a bigger crowd or had a rivalry some 30 odd years ago? If it's derby games that are important why no call for Dunfermline, Falkirk and Raith to get into the top league? There are derbies galore (or at least local ish rivalries) in the Championship just now.
  7. Aye, the early ones had the right mix of comedy, mystery and even drama. The later ones aren't so good but still better than a lot of things on TV today.
  8. Ah, but which Livia? Original (Swedish or Swiss possibly?) Livia played by Katherina Bohm (whose dialogue was dubbed but she did get her kit off), replacement Livia as played by the other blonde woman or Young Montalbano's Livia played by the English lassie? Why not all three, eh?
  9. The goal v Falkirk was down our right amd caused in part at least by Geggan being AWOL. I can't remember too many others though, certainly not recently.
  10. What happens in the (surely likely) event that all 12 teams in Division A qualify for the Euros? Does Division B get two play off winner slots or is there some other way of organising who takes that space? Highest UEFA ranking team not to qualify or something?
  11. There'll end up being big gaps, leading to folk sitting anywhere (quite rightly if it's nowhere near a sell out) which will negate the whole point of the exercise anyway. The most pointless exercise yet from PS.
  12. Juventus v Milan on Sky Sports Mix free to Sky customers right now and Dybala has just put Juve ahead after only 10 minutes with a nicely taken goal. Good crowd considering it's just the Coppa.
  13. I am planning on doing the same @Jambomo although I don't deal well with the heat and it can get pretty toasty over there. Might be a cheeky Easter holiday this year or next. You can stay in his apartment - it's a B and B when it's not being used for filming.
  14. Was delighted to see the return of The Young Montalbano on BBC Four, but annoyed to see it was just repeats of series one. I've tried tweeting them to find out when the original Inspector Montalbano series is coming back (Rai has shown three more we've not seen in the UK I think, and they've been shown in the States by all accounts) but didn't get a reply.
  15. The Sky Sports app couldn't give a live score update in a game their own channel is broadcasting, instead thinking that the game kicked off at half past midnight.
  16. Agree with most of the above - there was a section in the middle where I couldn't take my eyes off the screen but some of the bits at the very start and the last 20 minutes or so we're not good at all.
  17. Wasn't that the new logo? Which looked exactly like the old English Premier League logo merged slightly with the old SFL logo?
  18. I thought that these days you had to have a fan card to get a ticket for all Serie A games (at least officially)? I have been to Naples a few times but never managed to see a game. @Allan Jacobsen might be the man to ask - he's certainly contributed a lot of good stuff on the Italian football thread?
  19. I was on holiday so missed that game, but was getting a mate to text me. The last message I got was "2-1 Hamilton!" which I assumed meant that the non-jumping Jim had scored for us as I didn't quite twig we were playing against Hamilton for some reason.
  20. Stoke's ground isn't a full bowl, is fully covered and is a single tier on three sides so how is it a copy?
  21. Didn't enjoy this week's as much as a lot of people here for the second week in a row. The case itself was fairly interesting, especially when the woman went to the hospital (just to avoid obvious spoilers) but while a lot of people liked Toby Jones I found the caricature a bit annoying and having Mary in it was disappointing after it being all about her last week. The last 15 minutes or so we're very good though and I suppose it means next week is another can't miss episode despite me not really enjoying this series (or the last tbh) much at all. The trailer for next week gives seems to remove any tension from the end though? Not that I expected anything different mind.
  22. Especially when they had a 25 point deduction and ended up 26 points behind the Pars.
  23. There might be some big names in the Championship this season but the overall quality of the league isn't great. The Dunfermline team that won the Division under Jim McIntyre were streets ahead of most of the teams that are in the league this season, you could argue the case for that seasons Falkirk and Raith being better than most of the teams in it now too. Hibs have a huge squad but have only got going in fits and starts and Dundee United have been poor whenever I've seen them, relying on strength and a wee bit of quality from Flood. Falkirk look a shadow of their selves and Morton aren't a brilliant footballing side but ate third and deservedly so. If and when Hibs go up they'll need serious investment to do well next season IMO - they aren't as good as Hearts or Rangers were in the Championship in previous seasons that's for sure.
