  1. Quite happy that the Thistle game is moved to the telly IMO. The game isn’t a million miles away so it sounds like we could be still in the injury hell by then, our record at Firhill is trash and the main stand there is a shithole. At least if we’re getting dicked we can just turn it off. At least will have a bit of atmosphere unlike the game at Hampden on Friday. I appreciate they need to show everyone at home a certain amount of times but Hampden in front of a few hundred people was gash.
  2. I see SRJ have paid for a 2024/25 RRFC season ticket for the fan that was attacked after the derby.
  3. Oft never noticed this on Friday, probably because I was looking through my fingers in case anyone else got injured.
  4. Wasn't aware of that, was he at games? I know he was in helping Arbroath when they fired their dick.
  5. He said that about David Wotherspoon as well. Was training with us about 48 hours later.
  6. Aye he wouldn’t be top of my shopping list, however if we were able to do it I’d take it. He’s better than Joe Chalmers and Paul Allan so any upgrade there would be welcome. If we’re going to have issues with the defenders, then Otoo and Hamilton will continue playing there (if fit) so another CM wouldn’t be terrible. Have to think if Halliday came in he wouldn’t be there to sit on the bench. But yes, you’re right, we need defensive cover. That being said, I hope we do something at the top end of the pitch, an out and out striker.
  7. Was snooping a bit the other day, noticed Andy Barrowman liked a tweet from a Rovers fan that said something like “hope these rumours aren’t true, wouldn’t get in our team”. Obviously can’t look too much into that, is he more just happy that the stage you’re at, you’d turn down a decent Premiership footballer, or if it because it’s nonsense. FWIW, I was told we were interested in taking Halliday on loan last Friday before that Transfer Scotland page started linking him with clubs.
  8. I think I seen he signed somewhere. Wasn't aware he was at Crossgates but seen a team announcing him last night, forget where. Completely agree. Three fit goalies, personally I'd get Sharp back to Dundee and free up a loan spot. Little can play second fiddle to Deniz and if he or Little get injured then make an emergency loan. However, McPake said last week he expected Sharp, Moffat and Summers all to stay.
  9. I drove past Pitreave earlier. Initially, only the goalies were out. On my way back down 15 minutes later I could see one or two yellow tops but not a full squad. Wonder if today is more of a recovery day or something.
  10. Don’t think this will fall foul to the weather. Friday isn’t to be below freezing from midday and the weather is to warm up consistently until kick off, which is being forecast about 6 degrees.
  11. McCann and Fenton also down south with Todd so I'd say it's safe to say they've all been given a bit of downtime which is needed. I still think we've enough in the team to realistically think we can win all of the upcoming home games. Airdrie and Morton going well but still beatable. I personally think if we'd sent out a full strength team on Friday we'd have won the game and Arbroath were very poor when we played them in November. I know they've got a new manager now but I still think Dunfermline should be beating Arbroath at home. I think they'll have had their arses kicked on Friday night, or potentially not. He's maybe playing it nice and letting them have a bit of R&R to see if they change their own attitudes. One of the most annoying things at the moment, is McPake could tell you who's in and who's out during the Thursday press day, and there'll be one or two missing that hadn't been mentioned.
  12. I normally drive past Pitreavie about 11:30 on a Monday morning and the team are usually training. Noticed there wasn't anyone about today. I wonder if they've been given a wee long weekend off or something? I noticed Todd and Edwards were both down south going by there social media so maybe McPake has gave them all a bit of rest time after a busy couple of weeks. He's done things like that in the past, might also give some carrying niggles some recovery time and a chance for him, the coaching staff and board to really get to work on some new recruits.
  13. Could go one of two ways here. As it stands, I’d put the house on an away win. However, taking away out injuries which is playing a huge part, the team was still pretty poor against Raith on 2nd Jan and then against Queens Park on Friday. Friday was the first time McPake hasn’t really credited them for their effort and I reckon a few words were had which might have a positive impact. Option 1) - Airdrie rock up full of confidence, Pars still without a large number of regular starters and Airdrie take the points. Option 2) - the boys have a rocket fitted firmly up their arse, we get a couple of signings in this week, one or two return from injury and we go out and get a very much needed win. Until I see some movement I think option 1 is most likely. No idea the seriousness of Comrie or Jakubiak’s injuries that forced them off on Friday. I think we’ll know more about the results of Bene, Breen and Todd’s scans this week. Fisher, KRH, Tod will definitely miss out. FWIW I think Todd could be out for the majority of the remainder of the season if rumblings are true. Bene sounded positive when doing the BBC half time stuff on Friday but again we’ll need to get his scan results. Breen is always getting injured anyway so if he’s back well enjoy the 45-60 minutes until he’s off again. Hopefully Otoo able to come back and I think McPake expected Lewis McCann to make the squad for this one. Summers & Wighton both looked done on Friday but hopefully they will be okay. Looking forward to it!
  14. Big week this week. Hopefully everyone comes through training unscathed and we can get one or two in. I can already hear the groans when our newly signed centre back goes down in the 40th minute on Saturday…
  15. Yeah playing 9/11 players out of position will do that. Won’t last forever
  16. Why would you want to get close to a defender? He’s shite, the weak link in that team.
  17. He’s quite easily rattled, just a shame none of the Pars boys have even tried to have a go.
  18. I don’t think he’s been found out at all. Injury crisis as bad as I’ve ever seen and up until last week we were 4th in the league, still got a game in hand on those above us also. This season was about staying in the league.
  19. Tell you one thing, he rose like a salmon in the second half for a header, really good save from their goalie. He is a bit lightweight, but last season he came up against season pro's like Rory McCallister when we played Montrose and done well. Still, I'd rather have him at wing back.
  20. I'd quite like O'Reilly, I remember him playing for Accies and thought he was decent. However, I think he'd probably like to stay with you guys, and if not, then I think others may fancy a shot. Might not, but I wonder if rivalry thing might come out to it and he goes to a Partick or something purely because it's us, maybe not. If you were to ask me to bet where Dan O'Reilly will be come end of January I think it'll still be Kirkcaldy.
  21. Wighton has looked a little off for weeks now. I know he had the virus, and did come on to score the equaliser at Arbroath, but since then has looked a big knackered. Otoo would be a complete nightmare. Summer's wouldn't shock me, looked done in towards the end of the game, thought he played really well. Typical!
  22. Aye I think I mentioned it last week, but McPake always talks about how well the boys out injured are being looked after with scans, surgeries, rehab etc. It'll be costing a fortune. There'll definitely be two or three I think, some loans, maybe a free transfer or two if they get released from their club.
