Just noticed Motherwell have confirmed a shortlist and McPake's name isn't featured. Ian Holloway, Jack Ross, Grant McCann are on the shortlist and Kettlewell is interested since he's currently interim boss and got a win for them last night against St.Mirren. Obviously there might be others they want to speak to, including McPake but the fact they'd have to pay compensation I'd say they'll not pursue him any further. -

Roughly any side street around East End mate. Put Garvock Hill in your SatNat and you'll find a space around there or one of the many side streets, all within a 5 minute walk to East End. Earlier you turn up the closer you'll get to the ground but even turning up at 2:50 you'll still get a space within a 5 min walk. -

That's Nicola Sturgeon resinged as FM, heard she could be in the frame for the Motherwell job so we might be okay after all. -

Not sure how rearranging games work. Is it entirely up to us, with SPFL approval or do both teams have to agree? I think we’d have been holding off to see if they went through. The game will likely be early March but I suppose what week was dependent on their cup status and if the BBC fancy sticking them on the box again. Could see Falkirk Vs Ayr being decent for the Friday night slot so they’ll not want to play Tuesday/Friday that week. -

Not exactly. If BBC Scotland fancy sticking you on the telly again for a fee then you’ll not be wanting that midweek will you? Edit - and I’d be shocked if this game didn’t go ahead before 8th April. We’ve already established no more Saturdays free so it’s going to be a midweek. -

Yeah I think there’ll be better suited people but sounds like he is one Motherwell have discussed. Hope he stays, think we’re building something good. They’d also have to pay a fee for him. -

Whilst we all say nice things about McPake the Evening Telegraph has ran an article linking him with the Motherwell job, Alan Temple who used to do a lot of the Pars stuff when at the Courier. Surely not? I’d be surprised if he was interested at this time, I’d say Motherwell will go down and we’ll go up anyway. -

I think both clubs may have been waiting to see if you’d progress in the cup first. Fully expect that game will be announced this week at some point for a midweek in March. -

Wonder if the club have anything else up their sleeves today. Still no announcement from them. -

Signed Ewan Otoo on loan from Celtic. 20 year old centre half but can also cover left back. Captained them against us in the SPFL Trophy. -

Well I'm sure we'll find out today if Breen is okay when the Thursday managers interview comes out. The youth centre half we have, Sam Young, would be able to cope with L1 football if called on? I know he's been on the bench a few times and played in the challenge cup defeat up at Dens. He looks fairly physical so I think he could cope with that part of it. Anyone seen him play regularly for the reserves/youths? -

100%, still I wouldn't be shocked if something happens before the weekend, not ITK just a guess. It was already pretty desperate but after the Breen incident it was magnified. Whether Breen is injured or not I don't know, but we need cover at least. -
Airdrieonians vs Dunfermline

I quite liked McCabe at the Pars. Joined us halfway through the season when we last won League 1 and added something different to the midfield, we had Falkingham and Geggan who got stuck in, Byrne who showed nice moments but maybe a bit too young at the time. McCabe had a lot of composure, was brave enough to take penalties, free kicks etc. Sure he scored a late winner away to Cowdenbeath, could only have been a few games to go, we're facing dropping points to the team at the bottom and he puts one in the top corner from about 30 yards with minutes to play. Scored the winner from the spot against Raith the following season in the Fife derby. Fordyce is another who I liked, took a really bad injury in our title winning season in the September but made it back to make a cameo appearance and lift the trophy with Geggs. Hope to see them go on and do well, just not for the next two weekends. Not ruling Airdrie out as title contenders as who knows where we could be after the next two weeks but I think a playoff finish for McCabe after his first season as a manager would be a great achievement. Also had no idea until McCabe was appointed Airdrie manager that they were cousins. -

I’m missing the game on Saturday as I’ve got a do in Edinburgh for a mate who’s off to Australia. If Grangemouth FC win tonight and we lose to Airdrie on Saturday I’ll be asking the barman to add bleach to my pint, or might just ask my mate if I can come with him for a couple of months… -

Airdrie are actually the team I thought would be the ones to beat this season. If we can beat them twice over the next two weekends that’ll do nicely. -

The extra sunshine you'll get from the more frequent visits will be great for you, much different to all that cloud and sadness in Falkirk. -

Oh 100%, when we went to the back four I did think they’d just start hoofing balls, and they did but McCallister didn’t get a sniff. He’s one big torn faced b*****d btw. Thing is, when Comrie played in the back three under Peter Grant he was playing alongside Paul Watson and Ross Graham which won’t fill you with confidence if you’re a 5ft10 right back trying to play centre half. Bene will have helped so much but well done to Aaron for dealing with it. -

I wasn’t at both away Kelty fixtures but he seemed “up for it” against us in the home fixture and looked a bit of a threat. He blows hot and cold, some days he was outstanding, more often than not he was guff. I think due to the fact he joined us means he feels like there’s more hatred between Falkirk and him. He didn’t get much of a reception at East End, our fans weren’t really arsed when he left. Will never forget playing against Ayr at home, less than 10 to go and we get a penalty to win the game, he takes and the keeper saves. Bit of madness in the box directly after and somehow we get a second late penalty, Higgy steps up again wrestling the ball from Rhys McCabe who was fairly solid with set pieces, this time fully expecting him to slot it away nicely and make amends, he tries a fucking chip/panenka, keeper saves again, we draw the game. -

Overheard someone yesterday saying we were waiting to see if a Saturday was available for the Falkirk rescheduled game. I thought it must be the next round of the cup should Falkirk lose to Darvel, however we’re already pencilled in to play Peterhead (a) that day (11th of March). Looked at our remaining fixtures and they all go Saturday to Saturday with no gaps until the end of the season which means that there’s no way we could be hoping for a Saturday. Hopefully hear something about that this week! -

Aye, even before yesterday we desperately needed one, as much as Aaron Comrie has done well he’s just a wee guy. Playing alongside Bene has helped I’m sure. Shame the Murray thing didn’t come off. -

Good test for us, I thought Airdrie played well in the first half at East End in August (which feels like 10 years ago), however we played well in the second half, threw everything at it late on, hit the woodwork, had a goal chopped off which was soft. Since then Airdrie have done okay, sometimes you absolutely batter good teams and sometimes get absolutely humped. That being said, if the Pars can walk out of this double header with six points I’d be ecstatic. -

Much like everyone else has said I reckon 500-700, there’s a good core of Pars away fans that go week in week out regardless of opposition/form. Won’t be making it myself as I’ve something on in Edinburgh.
