  1. I’m not disagreeing with that, however the message I responded to involved losing to Celtic and Rangers which is why I used them as an example.
  2. Kai Kennedy announced at Falkirk, happy he's not with us, dodged a bullet. Watch him go and have a wonder season...
  3. Aye but I'd never say after a defeat at Celtic Park or Ibrox "no one should be beating Dunfermline Athletic 5-0". Teams absolutely should be because sometime we're pish.
  4. If Dorran's can get fit then I think he'll be a big asset in this league but it's a big IF. McPake mentioned that GD wanted a full pre-season that he didn't get last season, but he only got a few days before getting injured again. If he doesn't feature in the next couple of games I could see him packing it in, although does he then move into a coaching role since he's pals with McPake or does he go altogether which would free up some big wages (apparently). Fairly likely Bene is going to get the armband permanently as he's had it in all the games so far. FWIW I'm not one of the majority who dislike GD. I know a lot of the fans were disappointed with his reaction at Somerset but they need to move on, quick to give it out but can't take it back. He didn't play much last season but when he did he was pretty sound, would love to see him playing as a 10 or on the more creative side.
  5. Haven't made any of the pre-season games. Any of the trialists worth a deal based on what you've seen?
  6. See the word squad mate. I didn't say first team players, I'm talking about boys on the payroll.
  7. Noticed the DR yesterday had Ayr as another team linked with Kennedy. Be good if he went there, avoids us having to sign him and also the chance that Falkirk sign him and he turns out to be good... Pretty understanding of the situation regarding transfers this season. We've got a decent sized squad with some players on bigger money that in an ideal world wouldn't be here, new manager and we have fallen further down the food chain so it's going to take time. Fortunately we did get two good deals done early with Benedictus and Hamilton.
  8. When he was announced a year ago I was delighted. He was sh*te, don't get me wrong, we were sh*te but I seen nothing to back up all the hype he gets. Minimal effort, zero end product, poor attitude and I don't think he came cheaply either. If McPake turned round now and said he's always admired him and wanted to bring him in I'd be very disappointed. You never know though. McGlynn had him at Raith for a bit where he done okay. Think his best loan spell was ICT but he done absolutely nothing for us or Accies last season however Messi would have struggled in those teams.
  9. Aye 1885 isn't bad considering how utterly dreadful we've been for a number of seasons leading up to a relegation to L1. Also given the state of the world at the moment, cost of living etc. I'm sure between now and the end of the month we'll get closer to the 2500 mark. A couple of pen gifs wouldn't go a miss in helping out.
  10. Just noticed Lee Johnson (Hibs) has been speaking to the DR about a youngsters going on loan. The two name mentioned are Dylan Tait formerly of Raith and Daniel Mackay who we have been linked with. He mentions that we're interested in him but that it's likely he'll be looking at Championship minimum.
  11. When we were kids we used to go down the front of the Norrie at HT. Marco done one of his scissor kicks that flew past the goals and ended up hitting a guy I went to school with, breaking his wrist.
  12. I wonder if the people that left board position at the end of the season were the ones that often let slip about signings etc. Usually by this point we've been linked with everyone and there's rumours for weeks, someone always in the know etc, but this season it's been fairly straight forward. Is it just that we're a little less active than most years or has McPake ensured no one's leaking anything.
  13. Is true. Pompey were a Premiership team then, had some real big hitters.
  14. I was pretty critical of it yesterday, mainly the collar. Had a fresh look today and still not a fan. I’m going to pop in tomorrow as I like the new training tops so will take a look then. Likely if the away one is maroon and looks good I’ll get that.
  15. Not a fan. Hate those big daft floppy collars and an open chest. Might grow on me as most do but my immediate reaction isn’t great. I think the away short May be where it’s at this year though.
  16. What are we thinking then folks? A new player or two modelling the new kits? Be a good time for a signing with the supporters meeting at EEP tonight.
  17. I believe so, from the Facebook page it seems to be more things people make in their spare time like cushions and blankets. But I do think the shop still has donation in it.
  18. The 2017-2018 shirt was one of my favourite of the recent bunch, although I never actually got one at the time and only got one recently due to the kindness of an auld pal @Rob1885. Looking forward to seeing it. As I am with the away one if it is indeed maroon, something different at least.
  19. He was that shit at us that if we were offered him right now I'd still have my doubts, despite how well his second half of the season went. ICT fan on the Falkirk thread (I know) says we're signings Charlie Adam.
  20. I’m sure there’ll be work being done. I’m quite happy there’s no rumours, pen gif isn’t as fun when you’ve known who it’s going to be for a week.
  21. Aye I thought that too but FWIW I thought he was our best player in that home tie to Queens Park. Not entirely sure how he ended up in there but he did and I thought he played well. Good luck to him if he does end up at Kelty.
  22. Noticed on Twitter that Kelty Hearts were having an open training session, can't be certain but looked like Lewis Martin was training there. Be a good move for him.
  23. Start of another week. Be good to see the new kit and a couple of new pusses this week. I noticed Dorrans wasn't taking part in the pre-season laps round Pitreavie running track, I suppose it could be for a multitude of things but I wonder if he's made a decision on his future. For me personally, I think a fit Graham Dorran's playing in a more advanced midfielder role would be utterly joyous in L1.
