  1. Sorry I should have expanded, I was more meaning what is happening with money they've invested.
  2. Sounds like there might be a loss going by what people are saying, however hiring three managers and sacking two of them was always gonna be costly, coupled with a season in L1 so maybe not to be unexpected. Added in the training ground work. I'll add again, my mate who attended the patron eveining mentioned people's financial questions and the news from the club on that night was "the club was on sound footing and the owners were as invested as they've ever been". They acknowledged a lot of scaremongering which in my opinion has been an issue with our support for some time now.
  3. The guy I spoke to who was at the Patrons night said there had been an annual medical budget put aside, I'm sure this is something done every year. Apparently 50% of the annual medical budget was used up in one single week.
  4. I know we can't look too much into this but I hardly think we're skint if we're knocking back 6 figures for a player. Bad year after paying Championship wages in League one, quite possibly but I don't think it's collection buckets outside East End. Suppose we'll wait and see. I wonder if they purely knocked back the Edwards move because 1) he's an important player 2) we might be able to get a bit more in the summer if he does well between now and then.
  5. Heard there might be a vacancy at the White House so just hang about and stay please. Promise you can come back for the bus tour when we win the quadruple...
  6. This is very true. I do personally feel like make 8th and I'll take it at the moment but a couple of wins and you're back talking about 5th or 6th etc, it really is a small league and as mentioned on the relegation thread, everyone apart from Dundee Utd, Raith and Thistle could be drawn into the relegation dogfight. Another couple of wins for Morton and they should be fine but not yet.
  7. I wish I was only talking about Saturday... He's been off form for a while now, before Christmas. I appreciate there was a couple of weeks away with injury. I agree, I'd play him out on the left to use his pace and cut in. He scored doing that against Falkirk away last April and in the league cup game at Starks in the summer.
  8. I would absolutely start Holmes because apart Sutherland he’s the only true striker. Wighton is an attacking player who beefed up and decided he was a #9, McCann doesn’t know what he is.
  9. I personally don’t think we’re completely skint. I just think the board are being strict over what players we bring in. Did they perhaps think we’d have enough with what we have? I heard from that hush hush meeting the other week that we’d set aside an annual budget for medical bills and blew half of it in a week… Aye I’d be shocked if he does. He will 100% get the next two games to get positive results. I don’t necessarily feel he deserves the sack, a lot of managers would struggle with our injury issues this season, however he needs to be a wee bit less stubborn towards how he’s setting up, ditch the back 3/5 etc. That being said, if we don’t get six from six in the next two games I would be unhappy, I just don’t know if would be wanting the manager to go, I suppose it depends on the game. Was it a spirited performance where we draw or lose by a goal or another gutless defeat. If it’s the latter then we have a couple of big problems to address. BTW, I know we have no right to win the next two games but I think we should be capable of doing so.
  10. Be interesting to see how Dick does, however I can’t see him having anywhere near the success he did with Arbroath. I wouldn’t put it past him getting them out League 2 in a couple of years but that’s the ceiling. I already have visions of the seethe on Saturday when we go a goal down inside 10 minutes on Saturday. However, I’m also imagining a much better, more structured performance. We’re still a long way off Peter Grant levels. I don’t think many if any wanted him in the first place, he was already pissing in the wind, then did the “my CV would blow everyone else out the water” interview and proceeded to get royally bawed by everyone and anyone. The fans and McPake have a good relationship. It feels a bit strained at the moment but a couple of good results and that’ll be forgotten about. However, lose on Saturday and the volume will crank up a bit. Fail to take all the points against Arbroath and it’ll be fairly unavoidable. It was weird, for how bad we were on Saturday it felt quite subdued. Like people couldn’t believe what was happening. Agreed! I’d personally like us try and get two more in, an experienced loan from the Premiership and give a short term deal to the boy Josh McPake. Wide player who’s looking for a chance to kick on. Not sure if he’s still training with us or not but certainly a player that could add something or even be a good option from the bench when guys like Todd, Kane etc are back.
  11. The game against Dundee Utd scheduled for 16th March has been bought the day forward for Friday night telly. Now 15th, 7:45pm KO. Another potential big gate impacted? I missed the home game against Dundee Utd earlier in the season, away crowd was good but home looked poor.
  12. The game between us scheduled for 16th March has been bought the day forward for Friday night telly. Now 15th, 7:45pm KO.
  13. I don't think that's fair and would encourage you to have a rethink.
  14. Nipped by Pitreavie again there, looked one of the coaches had a very small group (possibly the defenders) doing something on the new pitch that has been installed. Then there was a bigger session on the original pitch. When I was going back they were all together. Hoping we try something different on Saturday. Would love to see a 4-2-3-1, probably better suited if we had a fully fit squad as it suits the personnel we have. Not sure if Comrie due back or not but could probably look like this - Mehmet Comrie - MFW - Otoo - Edwards Hammy - Chalmers MOH - Summers - Moffat Holmes Would allow bodies to help defensibly but also allow for help up the park too. Wighton went off on Saturday so he's probably not fit. McCann is doing my tits in, he has the heart of a pea if things are going against us, just chucks it. Chuck the boy Holmes in, at least he's an actual striker with a bit of physicality. Just to make myself sick, here's what it could be with a fully fit squad - Mehmet Comrie - Bene - Fisher - Edwards Hammy - Otoo KRH - Todd - Moffat/Jakubiak One of Wighton/McCann/Holmes
  15. Is the Airdrie game the only one we’re waiting on being rearranged? Was checking the on the official site but they’ve taken the postponed ones off.
  16. Aye I agree with that although I’d say only Dundee Utd, Raith and Thistle are actually fine. Morton only 9 points ahead of Queens at the moment, however they’re in a better position than everyone else, in the grand scheme of things they could get sucked back in but it would take a collapse.
  17. I can’t be bothered looking but if you read McPake’s last four or five interviews on the official site it’s mentioned.
  18. Fairly certain that it's been confirmed on here and by the club, we have an option of another year and will be taking it up. I don't know the T&C's of all that but sounds like we could still get a decent fee for Josh in the summer. Depends what we do between now and then I suppose.
  19. Aye it should be fine... I wouldn't necessary say so, however we're at home to Arbroath the week after. Fail to take maximum points from that and it'll be curtains. FWIW I don't want him to go, he's been dealt a crap hand this year, all managers would have struggled. I think given you guys seem to be enjoying a bit of a bounce he could be forgiven if we didn't beat you, however East End Park can be a nasty place for a manager when things aren't going well. If we go a goal down on Saturday you'll hear that. If we somehow lost on Saturday and didn't beat Arbroath then I couldn't see a way back for the manager, although our board are very reluctant to just sack managers so it might be more blocking out that fan noise. I think the feeling was we stayed up this year that would be viewed a success, now we didn't want to live that way but it very much looks like we're going to have to.
  20. I know pretty much all full time teams do video analysis these days, although I've never heard McPake refer to it. I'd like to think it's the first thing done on a Monday morning, especially after a result/performance like we had on Saturday. Having a joke on the match thread for the QP game about the bad weather/pitch for the weekend but I hope it's fine, need a chance to put that one behind us.
  21. Minus temperatures, snow and rain all expected in Dunfermline. Wouldn't it be a shame if the pitch was unplayable...
  22. Not sure what to make of it, however I drove past Pitreavie at about 11:40 and there was no training, no yellow tops, no activity whatsoever which is quite odd as they always train at that time. I wonder if they're all up at East End getting battered and watching the game back.
  23. The Pars next two games at Queens Park at home on Saturday and then Arbroath at home the following week. You would normally take playing the teams below you at home but it cranks up the pressure even more now.
  24. The manager confirmed a rough estimate in his pre match stuff last week and this week. Everyone’s running. Comrie will be the first back but not entirely sure, followed by Todd. KRH running no bother but as he has the shoulder injury it has its own timescale. Then Bene, unsure about him and Breen is the last one expected back. No exact timescales but they did a bit of an estimation earlier in the year in one of the official site interviews so might be able to source it there and work it out. I’d like to hope that Fisher will be the last one if he’s 6-8 weeks. edit - just found these screenshots taken on 10th Jan:
