  1. McCall on paper looks a good appointment, who comes in with him Neil Scally,   McCall recently took a watching role at training with Thistle, something I don't think he can do with Clyde....

What's the odds on a relegation play off final with EK. Must be pretty short at this stage ..

The pile in on Mick Kennedy has taken on epic proportions, buying the league's etc,  look at East Kilbride players and tell me 2 players that shouldn't be playing that level they are currently playing their trade,  I will give you Liam Brown the rest have found their level either on the way down from league 2 or on the way up from the juniors..

I could definitely get behind a hybrid setup, similar to that of Airdrie and Raith a couple of years ago. As said above the current market we're shopping in is leaving us with 39 year old duds last seen playing for a podcast, find it hard to believe there are no part-time players that would do a better job for less money to compliment a core of full time players.

Airdrie still technically run the hybrid,  we only have one Part timer and that is Calum Gallagher,  we still train as a hybrid Monday , Tuesday nights,  Thursday nights, and Friday,  therein lies the biggest problem it is getting experienced Full time players to buy into the changes in training etc,  might not sound much but if you have experienced players and lifestyle of training 2 hours a morning 4 days a week, many don't want to change,  remember we offered and agreed terms with Grant Gillespie 4 seasons back and never signed due to the hybrid training..( that was the reason given at the time(..

    Where do Morton train,  Parklea

Dicks notorious for the triple subs, can't remember one working out favourably for us if I'm honest,,, total shambles yet again 🙈

Scott Stewart was very poor today alright in a left wing back type role,  how is he with you guys, remember a couple of seasons back he was very good , on a more forward role...  Looked a shadow of himself today

With the comedy gold today of Brian Graham inviting Morton fans outside, presumably for a fight, I can’t recall seeing that happen before .

Not counting Cantona who just launched right in, has anyone even seen a player offer a punter a square go at a match they’ve been at ?

It's 8 o'clock and there are still fans outside waiting on Graham for a square go,  apparently Graham has left the building..  Typical Thistle legging it ..

The draw has been pish for the challenge cup with a trip to Morton again facing the winners. I completely get the hatred of the b teams I don’t like their involvement either but I will be going tonight and it’s still a cup I very much want us to progress in despite it not being a priority for many.

Sadly for Airdrie cup competitions and finals will not be a familiar experience for many and I will always advocate trying to win any “competitive” competition we are in. Having been born in the late 80s I was too young to appreciate the Scottish Cup runs and our brief spell in Europe so since then I’ve had to make do with this cup and 1 league win.

I get making changes and it’s been a rough few games but I want to see us competitive tonight.

Interestingly we are in the cowshed,   for this game, I don't expect any pie stall or running water that would be too much at Cappielow..   have we ever been in the cowshed before going back to the 80s and I cannot remember it..

Fowler, obviously. It shouldn't even be a question, for all the reasons outlined by more eloquent posters previously.

I will play devil's advocate.here,   you need to win Football matches and improve the quality of player in January,  I think we all agree on that,    Who has the more impressive win  record in modern football and is more current about the abilities and availability of lower league talented footballers.....    That man would probably be Ian McCall......never mind Kennedy...

Do you not think your club needs a shot in the arm, and try something different,  This strong and stable approach has seen your club suffer death by a thousand cuts...

He’s not a jumped up wee fud, so that’s a plus.

Ok that's fine, if you find that important as a part time football manager,   I think it is more important that they win football matches..

Who would you appoint as YOUR CLUB manager ,  apparently the list includes McCall, McIntyre, McInally, Fowler do any of them wet your knickers....

Ultimately, Kennedy is a deeply unlikeable guy who has no experience managing a team in our position. Anyone saying he’s the best candidate is a) deluded or b) an employee of Black Rooster Peri Peri.

It’d be different if he’d managed in the professional leagues, or even played in them, or had managed under any sort of adversity whatsoever. The guy doesn’t give off anything but fraud vibes.

    A.  Deluded,  possibly but in all honesty I don't have a dug in the fight,  am I an old traditionalist that is anti pyramid and always support our member clubs over  the wannabes when they are on a one way ticket to oblivion,  then hell yeah..

    B.  Never been in a rooster chicken place in my puff,  but if Mick is reading this and me singing his praises,  DM  me son wouldn't mind trying it..

    1. All managers are ambitious or they wouldn’t be managers.

    2. He hardly dragged them up, he spent a fortune signing championship and league 1 players to play in the wosfl. Auchinleck spent far less and still beat them to the title.

    3. Pishing the league by spending by far the most.

    4. he’s still won absolutely f**k all with these teams.

    5. He’s cringey.

Hes the real life equivalent of a wee guy who spends a fortune on fifa points to get the best Ultimate team he can.

So would you appoint James Fowler , who has won...

What are you basing that on?

A an ambitious manager with did well with Darvel dragging them up to the top of the league in a very competitive environment with Auchinleck, Pollok etc splashing the cash as well,  taking over at East Kilbride in the lowland League and basically pishing the league that Clyde are in severe danger of dropping into,  natural progression for Kennedy to go into League 2,  no reason to think he will struggle as long as he can bring in his own players,    not really sure what James Fowler brings to the party... What do you think..

  11. 34 minutes ago, SReplay said:

Can’t really see the evidence to suggest Kennedy would keep us up. He’s never managed a club where he couldn’t just bring in another signing on inflated wages whenever his team lose.

That's the risk you take,  January window will be busy I would imagine, whoever gets the gig,,,

Its a bit of Russian roulette,  the stakes are high,  survival or oblivion..  your move

Clyde fans have suffered enough over the years without Kennedy coming through the doors.

An insecure cheque book manager who couldn't get Darvel out of WOSFL with a League One budget.

Good chance Kennedy et all would keep you in the league,  can Fowler....

  13. Good point which we.needed,  if we were on decent form probably would be disappointed with only one point though,  Raith are a pleasing team on the eye, always a good day out and.not long finished the fish tea in burntisland tbh..

How do you guys think Dylan Easton is doing on the championship, he had god like status the season we had him in League 1, seen him a few times and probably like Frizzell in our side , he seems to lack a yard,    The step up to.the championship is much bigger than most realise.

Things not looking so good at the moment. I hope Rhys has a plan to change things around rather than just more of the same.

Listening to his interview he was bemoaning hitting Todorov earlier getting us up the pitch, which was working in the first half,  he wanted more control like the second half,  I know which is more effective and caused the opposition more trouble and it wasn't the second half controlled possession .

This isn’t meant to be a criticism of the players but we are not good enough to compete with Dundee Utd. Not a few teams in this league. Absolutely we gifted them goals but they had another few gears in them if needed no doubts.

Even the money Raith spent should see them clear in second. The recruitment from Partick looked decent at the start of the season and that’s another budget we can’t compete with.

I’m not advocating happy clapping or just accepting shit performances last night frustrated me but I think the great start to the season is clouding the realisation that we are relegation favourites with a squad from league 1. 3 loan players from hibs (2 signed before promotion). Todorov, Hancock and McStravick the first team signings whilst arguably losing 2 of our best players in Smith and Justin. I have absolutely no doubt McCabe would have wanted more signings and good experiences championship players at that but our squad is going to struggle look at Dunfermline who finished what 22 points in front of us. Hardly setting the division alight.

I think we need a plan b too and I agree now teams sit off us our build up play is too slow at times leaving it congested in the middle of the park. I like a few of our midfielders as individual players but again for me as a collective unit we are not able to dominate the middle of the park in any game and we have no where near the creativity or direct threat coming from there like we did last season. I don’t know the solution though without new players neither do most of us.

Recruitment was and still is an Achilles heal for Rhys,   all signings to me seem to be an agenda if either being signed up by Consilium when they sign or sign up when we sign them, is this a prerequisite requirement or just coincidence....

That's scary Todorov, Hancock and McStravick are the 3 players scouted as quality signings ..

Let's be honest the majority of us, knew we were short,  and I am led to believe the budget was not spent before the window closed ..  all we can do is battle away, every point has to be fought for,   Rhys is feeling the heat and has never reacted to criticism before....

I think the frustration amongst fans is to totally justified. McCabe is coming out with wild statements in the press that we can win the league etc and we are nowhere near it. It’s just delusion.

He continues to say that if our performances are good enough then the results will come our way. I think the Raith and Patrick games were our only good performances that ended in us taking all 3 points.

There’s also the element of literally gifting  goals to the opposition. I’ve counted at least 20 occasions this year where either Rae or Fordyce have passed it directly to an opposing striker. The QP game being the most recent example.

We are far too predictable and are lacking serious power up top.

Pretty much agree,  Rhys was telling his players in last season's playoffs, don't trust the media, don't comment just play your game and he commits the ultimate sin, and he will get reminded of it by all and sundry..

We need a result from somewhere, just to calm the waters,  our squad is 21 which should be enough,  but we lack serious options, our core which we can rely on last couple of seasons Frizzell and Gabby cannot cut it in the championship, and last night painfully showed it..

It looks like Rhys will have to lead from the front in Kirkcaldy,  tough times,   where would we rather be though.....

  17. Tonight was men against boys at times,  we are so naive as a team,   funnily enough defensively we were ok, apart from blowing our toes,  Rae should have left the cross as it was going safe and McStravick with his slack backpass,  don't know why he was in that position anyway.  We played much better 1st half and a decent side would have had a couple of goals during that spell,  Todorov was a welcome change up top,  Aiken tried hard with Telfer in the middle,  although Aiken could be out for a while with what looked like an Achilles issue..

Sadly Frizzell our captain,  cannot play in the middle of the park, he is clearly 2 yards slow and was painful to watch,  where does he play though,  Gabby McGill out his depth also,  we are down to the bones after this although young Dunlop got a couple of deliveries into the box late on...  squad wise there is not much else O Connor, Hancock not much there is there and Gavin Gallagher seemingly still having his issues although he has found time to join Rhys's agency Consilium..

On the downside the abuse McCabe was getting was uncalled for, and hIs old man and family apparently watch the games from a box now due to abuse received at the Arbroath game.... If true surely we as a support are better than this ffs ....

  18. Another narrow defeat with a big fat 0 in the goals column,  wants at the game today so won't comment ..

But I agreed with the changes to the team  we were and are getting a little stale...

Let's be honest Rhys came across an arrogant p***k after his we can win the league nonsense on BBC last week. (I have spoke to Rhys a few times and he is far from an arrogant p***k).   Don't know if that was a BBC special and cut and paste job of an interview...  That statement has done the players no favours,  we have a number of players who are playing above their level McGill, O Connor,  Mcmaster and Frizzell,   Frizz could do with a system change in order to help him,

Rhys trusts his players and his system, this is where he needs to rein things in,  This passing from goal line to goal line is fine if you have athletic midfielders, we don't, and at home it looks worse with the size of the pitch,  we can still pass the ball about the back it doesn't have to be 18 yards out, how about passing it about 30 yards out, this pushing our midfield up and getting closer to our isolated front man, Frizz might be able to play more balls through the lines on the other teams half , than having to carry and protect the ball 35 yards out from his own goal all the time,  our chance creation and goalscoring is horrendous, we need to try something , or there will be more days like today, and the feel good factor and crowds will disappear like snow off a dyke..

The championship is a hard league, harder than you ever realise,  I hope Rhys swallows his pride for the United game on Tuesday, could this side recover from a tanking, time will tell..
