This is exactly as I see it, Falkirk to sit in, with McGinn and Hetherington playing justt in front of a deep lying defense , if Airdrie get in front early, we could win this comfortably, if Falkirk hold their nerve and get driven on by a 3 thousand strong away support they could do it, an early season classic... A slight caveat. Never underestimate McG lynn Ball......

Personally if it is between Mochrie and Telfer, I would pick Telfer every time, we look a very talented bunch although very short of experience , I cannot see the 2 of them signing, too similar..

What is situation with subs this season , is it still 5 subs or are we back to a traditional 3 subs..... Could make a big difference especially with a thin squad.

Jameson is a good addition quality loan as described by many on here, That's us now at 5 forwards out of a squad of 15, I would not be surprised( mentioned it a couple of weeks ago) if Murray makes a move for Smith, he clearly rates him having signed him before twice, if we even get a nominal fee that could be put to McCabes top target....I I would be surprised if Moffat ends up at Airdrie now , although a young centre back from Celtic seems to be a done deal apparently... We are still desperately short of depth in midfield, McCabe has said he needs 5 or 6 for the start of the League, he needs to produce the goods.... NOW

McCabe has stated prior to the Arbroath game we need 5 or 6 that would bring the squad up to the 19 mark excluding the young laddies, that should be workable and should be enough to cover for injuries etc....I Very interesting week, we have been waiting for this all summer

Getting loanees is a,bit of Russian roulette, last season was good McInroy 3 months loan only, same with Brody and Afolabi 3 months loan.... I always think it is lazy recruitment and if we are going for 5 or 6 what does that tell us, but as I said in a n earlier post McCabe has gave this side a chance and to be blunt the players haven't taken it, to be honest we need a physical centre half just as much as a striker, Fordyce who I like struggles in the air in both boxes, Peter head will play basic percentage football next week, aggression, compact, and attack set pieces, we need to win this none of this mollycoddled pish of the FB page, we have Falkirk on the horizon after that...

For me McCabe was spot on,he has gave the side every chance, he knows fine well that was the last game of preseason and things will crank up in ter the League.. The positions in danger IMO are both Devenneys and Gabby who is hopelessly inc onsistent. We currently have one loaner. McMaster from St Mirren, is 6 the most loanees a team can have , pretty desperate stuff if that the plan....

Today's result was expected to be honest,you cannot go into proud clubs backyards without a loaded gun.... Interesting week ahead McCabe has always said and defended by many on here that the League is when the squad will be ready for.... Couldn't make it myself was it a purvey with speakers etc, 6 pm seemed a tad early to only get some prawn sandwiches and a kerafe of red wine. The ties and the chiffon scarf were they worth the wait....I And more importantly I thought Airdrie passed St Mirre n off the park at times, well worth the win, special mention to Cole and Gunn came on and never looked overawed, but surely these lads have to be protected and learn the game playing there level,

Heard the same and also in for a 17 year old centre half from Celtic... to be fair it is McCabes fault, if he is determined o sign a quality of player that the club cannot back up wage wise, then he has to swallow his pride and get other less talented players who are willing to accept the wage offered, do we think Craig Bryson signed for Stenny because he likes the views of the of ochilhills or do we think Kirk Broadfoot has a fetish for wearing parkas in the summer while he runs out for a non entity club at Broadwood..

Heard rumours, would think this would be an end of window loan at best, Moffat is currently on celtics pre season tour and was on the bench yesterday, doubt he is on mccabes mystery man imminent list though
