Would be interesting to know if there's actually any relevance in being Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum.  If we can be Bronze in the top flight it's clearly not that important.  I guess stadium grades will maybe have an impact on those that are chosen for cup neutral venues, Scotland youths etc.  Can't see how the rest would have any actual impact though other than a pat on the back.

On a side note, it's an absolute joke what has happened with the pyramid play off.  IMO, under no circumstances should a club ever be refused promotion on any of these criteria, especially when there are clubs at the level they are trying to reach and even the one higher than that that have the same level of award.  I know it says they were given a chance to apply for a grace period, but that should just be in place regardless.  The current farce just makes a mockery of the whole system.

Same goes for the next level down as I see that the Midland league that is full of Dundee and Angus clubs, which feeds into the Highland League playoff has never actually managed to produce a champion that is allowed to compete in the playoff.  I appreciate there are probably a fair few of the clubs that look at away trips to Wick and decide they're better staying put, but when you've no idea what teams are genuinely in line for promotion it's hard to keep an interest.

f**k the whole lot of the Bronze to Gold UEFA system. The system would be more fun if it was a measure of the Derry armys tans as they get pished topless in the backwaters of Albania on a European stramash.

Whether we would make that system is another thing as i doubt 'red rah' would be included before the bronzing stage for many of the travelling contingent.

    Thank you.

If Celtic manage a comfortable win like the 7-1 tanking we gave them at Celtic Park in February it would provoke severe meltdowns from the **** given the recent pitch fiasco and the email spam folder incident from the pandemic.

That will go down as a rare blot on an otherwise fantastic first season back in the top flight for Dundee and a first season as a manager for Tony Docherty. Useless bit or irrelevant trivia, I remember him as a teenager for  Stirling Albion in the early 1990s when he was nicknamed Tony the tiger by the Albion fans and he had a shocking wavy perm hairstyle.  Second piece of irrelevant trivia, his brother Vinnie was my maths teacher at St Modans High in Stirling around then.

Business end of the season and squeaky bum time, performances, individually and collectively matter not a jot, especially with our difficulty in seeing games out from narrow winning positions is a concern so it would be nice to record a comfortable, nerve free win here but any sort of victory will suffice given the importance of the three points.

    Stirling.

    Deary me.

    Thank you.

I've been hoping for a back 4 line up majority of the season so we can accommodate Sylla and Boateng at the same time. I'd get Robertson starting v Celts then replace with Cameron later on and Mulligan, replaced by Tiffony later on, with McCowan completing the middle 5. No way is Main going to be fit enough to start so Bakayoko in starting 11. Keep it a battle and tight then go for it.

Robertson looked like an amateur at Parkhead, if you watch it back he loses his man every time and is nowhere near the level we need to progress. The boy can trap a ball and find a pass; his overall game is league one/lower cHampionship. We need to move on from players like him.

As for Bakayoko i'm okay with having him as part of a four man strike force next season which couldn't also include Pineda. Bakayoko has scored 6 goals and assisted 5 which is an average return. Sometimes he looks like he can't be arsed. I suppose we need a bit of continuity so i'll take Bakayoko, Boateng, McCraacken and Dodgson from the loan deals.

    Thank you.

  4. Will be interesting to see what Utd do in the summer after a catastrophic financial term. If they don't follow our lead in clearing the decks they'll be relegation favourites.

Glad that Watt is under contract  - can be our player of the match in the derbies.

Let's crack on and give 5th a go after the result at Hampden today. With St Mirren playing Celtic away in the last match we only need to keep the gap as it is as a minimum to be in with a shout against Killie at home. All to play for.

    Thank you.

I stopped as I had no idea where the money was going. Might have another look if they sort themselves out.

A section from the email below which looks like they're getting their shit in order. They should be advertising it via the official too, alot of people were put off with the lack of information on anything to do with it. Nearly packed it in myself.

    Thank you.

There goes the top 6 financial reward 🥊

We'd beable to pay the 66K off alone with the Sky money from the live game from Dens next Sunday.

That's before you factor in over 4000 away fans paying £30 a pop, full hospitality and home end sales.

We then have a massive home match infront of a bumper crowd against St Mirren which can put us into a European position.

Kilmarnock to end the season should also see a decent away following as they finish the campaign in fourth. If we've picked up a few results it'll be another bumper home crowd.

Of course there's then the 140K plus between finishing 7th and 6th. If we finished bottom six we'd have been due the likes of Livi at home in a meaningless borefest.

Thick as mince. Things are all good down Dens way don't you worry.

    Thank you.

  7. Jordan McGhee deserves a mention on his own. That was one of thr best performances I've seen from him over his years at the club.

I complained about him weekly as a centre midfielder but he's always been a useful defender in my book as a second choice. Tonight though with a performance like that he could start for us next season as a RB. He really was outstanding tonight and I don't think thats overdoing it.

Hes definitely been told to get forward more aswell. At the seasons start when on the right he was scared to cross the half way line and had no confidence in his forward passing. He looked a different player tonight, the charging forward in the second half was class.

    Keep it up McGhee.

    Thank you.

  8. Everything I asked for pre match.

We were brave on the ball and defended our goal like a prime Italian side. There was no luck involved there - our midfield dominated and McCowan finally showed he's a class above against one of the ugly sisters.

Cameron also stepped up with a wonderful display. Dodgson was excellent and Portales was an absolute touch of class. Bakayoko ran himself into the ground in the first half and was everything we needed up top.

The only negative tonight would be Costelloe who gave the ball away time and time again as well as not taking that shot at the end of the game when we worked himself into a good position.

Superb Dundee. This St Mirren home match coming up is huge. Imagine we leaped above them morons after all the piping up they've done all season.

    Thank you.

  9. Bakayoko needs to step up against better opposition tonight. Woeful against the top sides this season, despite some decent showings against the dross.

As for the likes of McCowan, Cameron and Boateng they also have to show the same composure as they do most weeks. Get on the ball and find a man.

Tonight isn't about winning but we need to see something. In behind the speed in the Sevco attack their defence is bang average.

    Thank you.

  10. A big thanks to Kettlewell who secured Dundee their top six finish with a pointless equaliser.

Extra revenue which is invaluable and means if we do decide to pay anything towards our pitch it's covered through the top six finish, meaning no decrease to our playing budget.

Getting Livi out the leeague is another bonus - complete diddy team and the derbies are going to bring in more money.

With Docherty at the helm and a full season in the legs of the likes of Lyall Cameron we should be looking ahead with positivity.

Wouldn't mind the Perth being replaced by Kirkaldy to top off a very good season at Dens.

It's not over for us yet though and we continue with the development of our young team with all eyes on Dens park come Wednesday. Can we end the knuckle draggers title aspirations?

    Thank you.

Will I be able to buy and collect a ticket for this tomorrow?

From Dens until 1pm. They're not on sale through there to pick up or buy in person.

I think it'll end in a draw which means anything but a Hibs win and we've made top six with a game to spare against Rangers midweek.

Tomorrow will most likely come down to Hibs result rather than us going and winning. If we make it we can count ourselves very lucky (despite having a good season overall the team isn't top six quality yet). Our results against the five teams above us are telling but the extra funds would be lovely and we have been too good for the rabble at the bottom of the league.

    Mon the Dee.

    Thank you.

  12. I don't think we're a top six side yet, however we've taken it to the Pittodrie match as i said in January, just in a slightly different manner.

Some might write the Rangers match off straight away but i've watched so many teams give them problems this season. I'm not expecting a three nil win but i just want to be able to stand up at the end of the match and be happy with the application of the team. Unfortunately we've been abysmal against the OF this season and our results against the top six sides around us are woeful. Teams like Hibs have looked so much better than us but it doesnt matter a f**k if it's us celebrating come Saturday.

Looking forward to the day out to Aberdeen and i'd imagine plenty will make the journey for a top six decider. EIther way the effort will be applauded by me at full time as this season (not without it's faults) for entertainment value has been great. How many times have we been able to say that in recent times?

I've bought my season ticket for 24/25 and prepared to back the club with the vision they're giving for the next few years. This season isn't done yet though - another massive week for the club and hopefully we get over the line for what would be a great achievement for Docherty. The beginning of the planning to next season has to be underway and results this week could help our budget. Get yourself to Aberdeen.

    Thank you.

At 23 would we be due a development fee ? Or does it count going either way from Scotland England or vice Versa

    Don't have a clue.

Last night was, apart from a paucity of Dark Blue goals, a five star performance. The first half domination was a real pleasure to watch with our midfield reigning imperially against an absent Dons midfield. Sylla, McCowan and Cameron with Tiffany were outstanding, and Curtis Main caused great difficulties in the Aberdeen defence. Time for him to score please.
The defence, too, pretty much coped with the Dons’ attack- insipid as it often was, and I enjoyed the excellent punching out from McCracken. Daftie behind me shouting “catch it”!

I’d like to see the same energy and sense of purpose instead of standing off the opponents when the Govan lads visit on Sunday.

Spot on. The players need to face the Rangers with no fear and believe in their abilities. Playing against a Glasgow side (who look excellent tonight against Benfica) doesn't mean the ability to pass 5 yards is lost. McCowan, Cameron, Portales and Sylla need to show the same confidence on the ball and carve out opportunities. Unfortunately we've been the weakest side against the OF all season and that needs to change.

Main should also help who is an upgrade on Bakayoko who has been appalling against top six opposition.

    Thank you.

  14. Jon McCracken out of contract in the summer. Aged 23 and hasn't looked out of place once whenever he's played this season. Infact his overall performances have stood out more than Carson.

Without doubt he's one who could make the club money as an investment. Having Carson there next season aswell to help him along with his experience would also be ideal.

Hopefully being worked on. Will be interesting to see how he can command the defence/set pieces against The Rangers and also whether his cool head on the ball at his feet can be maintained.

    Thank you.

  15. What a pleasure it was to watch us dismantle Aberdeen tonight. The only gripe is we didn't score more goals as we deserved it.

Tiffoney stepped up big time tonight and I've not rated him even in previous games where he's scored. Excellent.

Main was much better than Bakayoko has been and looked like his fitness has come on. Signs he can be useful for next season.

Cameron class tonight and Portales was back to the form we seen at points early in the season - his composure on the ball makes such a difference.

I'd given up top six hopes but it looks like we can take it down to a Pittodrie decider as long as we beat Perth A and Motherwell H. Some slip ups from Hibs would be nice. Killie and Paisley are gone.

    Thank you.

Ageed. I think being realistic Dundee have only been in contention to finish in 6th. Hibernian and Aberdeen have underperformed and so it would be a case of sneaking in while no one's looking - in the sense that you'd be taking advantage of Aberdeen and Hibernian's failures more than anything else.

    Thank you.

Dundee were in contention until the other week when we lost to St Mirren and Hibs. It was a step too far.

We've played some great football this season and also had many learning points for Docherty and the team. Hopefully that stands us in good stead for a proper crack at it in the 24/25 season. Top six would've been a bonus so you're barking up the wrong tree looking for bites.

You've already outed yourself as a national fan supporter with no club side. The only surprise is that you don't follow Liverpool/Man Utd on a weekly basis them pull the see you jimmy wig out the drawer claiming to hate all things English. Piss off to Germany in your kilt and leave the proper football fans in this country in peace.

    Thank you.
