  1. Bakayoko looked tainted with a large swathe of the donkey at the start of the season. Think he's been one of the best performers every match in the last four games however.

Looks to be ten times fitter and is holding it in well, linking up play. At the moment he's well within plans as part of next seasons four strikers IMO.

    Keep it up Bakayoko.

    Thank you.

  2. We could've and maybe should've earned a point minimum today with a weak central defence. Carson had to make a few saves in the first half and we always looked like conceding though.

Once we get Astley fully fit or Lamie /Portales back we can start to solidify again. A clean sheet looks miles off at the moment.

As for the attacking play we look sublime at times. We have a lot to look forward to over the next couple of months when we sort the defence.

Top six is well in sight and that doesn't change after being rightly beaten at Tynecastle and getting rather unlucky today against the clear third place side this season. Paisley and Perth this week are both winnable and really will define our last third. We move on.

ETA - never seen so many people say they're happy with the performance after a defeat. Says it all at the moment. We're not far away - keep the faith.

    Thank you.

Hearts started off well but means f**k all when you can't get shots off, and we've again done a good job of keeping that to a minimum. Defending well and looking dangerous on the counter with a great goal that was exactly like McGhee's against Hearts in the COVID season. Not much to complain about!

Now to put the Tynecastle game to bed and not switch off for the rest of the game would be magic, lads.

It wouldn't be switching off. Hearts already should be level. It's a tight game with Hearts looking like they can score.

    Let's hope we hold out.

    Thank you.

Missed all that, all I saw was him coming on in the 2nd half v Livi and the Sheep, and changing the games for the better.

    Great young player.

    Thank you.

Just needed the right manager behind him. Imagine being a youth and having Steven MacLean trying to bring you on.

Imagine being from a massive shit hole going about calling folk yokels.

All I seen on twitter was Dundee fans calling Costelloe shite as well.

It's nice of the Perth residents to travel through to Dundee every weekend  and spend all their money here leaving your town centre a barren dump.

Dundee will prosper ahead of Perth forevermore. Same applies on the footballing side pal.

    Thank you.

The goal is the same size whatever level. Give him the ball and he will score, which can't be said of many of our strikers.

You yokels make me howl with laughter.

Costelloe excelling in the Dark Blue after being hounded out by Perth muppets who qualify pub level strikers as knowing where the goals are whatever the level.

    Thank you.

Do you miss signing absolute shite like this? Because I don’t.

The boring one will be thumping away at his keyboard calculating stuff for his stinking pie chart as we speak. Hopefully having to include 'everything' keeps him fighting his slavers for the next month as he compiles it.

    Thank you.

We are also managed by an untested quantity at this level.

We didn't have the third highest budget.

Why would that game have been bigged up as revenge when we pumped you in the Championship and had played you twice before that in the same season? Was it conveniently because you won?

Genuinely, who is bonehead? I'm curious as to what injustices he's been riling people up about.

You've got the third highest budget in the league to ease Bonehead into the position, having qualified for Europe last season with him all but managing the club. I hope you're not comparing it to Dundees situation. Budgets aren't everything though, accepted, which is why you were deservedly relegated during Covid after getting pumped week by week - including against second bottom St Mirren a week before seize of play.

Neilson was the man who whipped up a frenzy before the game, playing up to the bitter Maroon morons in the crowd. We didn't win, we equalised through Jason Cummings and Hearts fans proceeded to boo their team and head for the exits. That was the only part of the game where the frenzy took place in the home ends.

Bonehead describes a very stupid person which is spot on for Steven Naismith. An absolute thicko who will see Hearts as a pathway to get to the larger intertwined knuckle dragging Glasgow branch of the Gorgie/Govan alliance.

With any competent manager Hearts would be winning this Saturday against a team decimated with injuries but with 'Naisy' in charge we'll wait and see.

    Thank you.

  8. In our first season up, managed by an untested quantity at this level it would be embarrassing from the Hearts to be swept away at Dens twice in the same season.

Maybe the fury at being relegated during Covid whilst rock bottom of the league in March with the third highest budget is still raw. Of course it was all cause of an email...

The Hearts bigged up the match at Tynecastle the other season; a day for revenge where they only proceeded to concede late on to Hibee legend Jason Cummings and stream out the stadium weeping once again.

The emotion gets the better of Hearts with Dundee. A newly promoted team with defensive injury after injury should be expecting defeat here. With bone head in charge of them riling his players up over so called injustices there's every hope for the weakened Dundee though.

    Thank you.

  9. Beck was at fault for the penalty. Tried to take on 4/5 men and was tackled needlessly which led to it. In the first half he seemed almost too eager to impress. After half time he settled down and played his usual game: if he'd scored at the end it would've been wild.

Dodgson came onto a game 2nd half after quite frankly being dreadful in possession in the opening 45 along with Ashcroft who kept punting it out the pitch. Dodgson didn't give it away once in the second half and made alot more overlapping runs beyond Beck. He was obviously told by the Doc to get his finger out. Ashcroft did dominate in the air though and scored the crucial goal - he's stepped in quite well the last week but talk of him becoming a first team starter again needs to be binned IMO.

Mulligan made the difference and in the end we could've won without three first team starters tonight.

Robinson looked sharper than he has been and there were signs of life between him and Bakayoko at points. Would've been some goal early on if the ball across the goalmouth was tapped in.

Hearts up next in another big match before we head for the Paisley morons next midweek. Staying unbeaten in the two matches is good enough for me before we beat the Perth in our game in hand.

    Thank you.

  10. Whatever happens the rest of the season we should all enjoy Beck while he's here. Massive future in the game and we're getting to share the beginnings. He can be the difference in us finishing top 6.

What will conclude with us finishing with the diddies around 9th/10th is failure to pick up points against the better teams in this league.

We're the only team who look lost against the Old Firm and have picked up six points from thirty from OF, Edinburgh teams and Kilmarnock. I'm not including St Mirren as I've said all season the Paisley mob were on a start of the season jolly and would sink like a stone.

Docherty will know we've been superior to the diddies but came up short at the next level. Big chance tonight and Saturday to show we can do it. Thankfully for us there's absolutely no pressure unlike your Aberdeens who are losing their shit.

If I was to make a prediction right now I think it's going down to the final match before the split at Pittodrie where we'll be in with a shout after consecutive wins against Perth A and Motherwell H.

    Thank you.

I've also heard he is on his way , but my source is pretty unreliable.   Our squad is already huge , hopefully not admin 3 coming our way.

We've had this problem for decades.

McPake especially was upto 30 players in the building at some point: currently we have 27.

We need to get rid of the likes of Wilkie and Robertson on loan and probably Ashcroft too. Despite the initial excitement Pineda is going to be a waste of space for the rest of the season - just got to hope a year here gets him ready for next season. Currently Docs only black mark on the signing front.

I'd think about calling time on Howleys loan aswell.

Hopefully a couple go out over the next few days along with Beck returning and it's been a great window.

FWIW I've been told 2 signings are incoming over the next couple of days.

    Thank you.

5 at the back for me. Big Sylla in beside Boateng, Cameron for Lyall and Mellon and any from the 3 of Robinson, Main and Bakayoko and obviously Carson if he’s fit. No Costelloe please.

Cameron for Lyall? You on the beers last night cunto?

If Beck comes back we're looking at:

    Carson

    Dodgson Astley Shaugnessy Lamie Beck

    McCowan Sylla Boateng

    Main Mellon

Forgive me for spending the rest of this fine Sunday in a state of erection not seen since the Titanic was raised before being hauled to the seabed.

Away the Dees and roll on Aberdeen. Nothing to fear from that lot outwith Miovski. I always like giving people shite through the honking wee fence aswell.

    Thank you.

Bizarre after a 4-1 defeat but didn’t think there was much in it today - Dundee took their chances, albeit which we laid on a plate for them, and we spurned ours. Our penalty record must be verging on some form of world record, I can’t recall any run of it’s kind elsewhere but it’s very much the fleck of sweetcorn on top of an enormous cake of shite for us right now.

4-2-3-1 has to be the way to go - looked infinitely more enjoyable to watch in large spells than we have since late summer. Go with that front four and give them a run and we’ll maybe have half a chance - provided something can be done at the back.

McCowan the pick of those in Dark Blue for me today, caused us no end of hassle and his daft second yellow the only black mark on the day for him. Sums up the adequately competent type of player Dundee seem to have now throughout their squad which seems quite a departure from previously (disappointingly so for us tbf).

Tuesday was enormous beforehand but it’s beyond that now - anything other than a win there and it’s away from us I reckon.

    Good post.

Hope you lot beat the Dingwall on Tuesday and drag them down aswell.

    Thank you.

Shaughnessy has been solid for us for pretty much the whole season I believe, but McGhee, and especially Ashcroft deserve praise today. Outstanding. 👏 also thought finlay played very well in the first half, unsure as to why he was subbed but hopefully nothing serious. His decision making and some of his passing was good. Don't think he deserved to be dropped earlier in the season so his inclusion from the start today was a nice surprise.

Would keep the back 4 for Tuesday. It's telling that while we kept the back 4 in the first half, we reverted to a back 3 before the sending off - before ending the game again with a back 4. Think we're getting the best out of ashcroft in a back 4 (proving he can compete at this level), and it doesn't leave Dodgson all on his own on the left. He didn't have the best game today so here's hoping Beck comes back.

I don't agree on Howley playing RWB, especially when he didn't rate Cammy at all. Would have mcghee at RWB if Doc insists on the back 3.

    My team for Tuesday.

                              Sharp

    Mcghee   Ashcroft    Shags    Dodgson

         Finlay (mulligan if fit) Boateng

    Costelloe       Tiffoney       Reilly (if fit)

                              Mellon

Some strange choices. Why would Sylla be left out and Bakayoko after what was his best game yet. I personally thought Tiffoney done very little again today and Robertson was one of our worst performers which a few good passes doesn't fix.

    Sharp (Carson if fit)

McGhee Astley Sheggur Ashcroft(Lamie if fit) Dodgson

    Sylla Boateng Cameron

    Mellon Bakayoko

    Thank you.

Cameron suits the less physical matches and it freshens it up a bit. Ashcroft and Sharp done okay today but we have better players if fit.

    Thank you.

  15. Two of Scotlands big city clubs meet in what appears to be a battle for top six at this point.

Floundering Aberdeen have shown impressive performances in cup competitions but have failed to replicate that in the league campaign this far.

Dundee have improved significantly under Tony Doc in his first managerial post and if anyone knows his way around Pittodrie it's the man who spent years as McInnes's number two during years of relative success.

Both teams can be sitting pretty with wins in their games in hand and the current 'false positions' will be decided starting with these games in hand on Tuesday.

All roads lead to Pittodrie in what may well be decided by the battle of Miovski and Mellon upfront.

    Thank you.
