  1. With Clyde a massive 18 points behind Kelty & their only win since the turn of the year a narrow 1-0 home win against Peterhead I would hope they don't give is too many problems especially now Nacho is a benchwarmer for the Grangemouth mob. With Peterhead 3 pts behind and a tight run in including an away to Peterhead it might be tight for the Bully Wee.
  2. Surely McMaster in for McCabe looked more up for it when he came on at QOS
  3. Nah 2/3 forwards in my side & I genuinely think that midfield would support attacks while offering defensive assistance. Both Ballantyne & Euan are widely considered as better attackers than defenders. Sadly I think you're right but think Fordyce is better on right of centre than left unless gaffer alongside. Hopefully back to winning ways Saturday whatever the formation. The other problem with the gaffer sitting so deep is if booked early has a tendency to let players drift pass rather than throw a tackle in avoiding the more than likely red card given our history,
  4. Hows this for a setup to sort the Defensive side Rae Watson McCabe Fordyce ATS Ballantyne Telfer Frizz Smith / Euan McGill Gallagher Allows Smith/Euan , Mccabe & Ballantyne to move forward in attack & track back help in defense, leaving Gal & Mcgill free to counter Also facilitates Mcgregor to come in last 20 for Mcgill / Ballantyne who will tire & stanway to replace Telfer / Frizz if required
  5. Totally agree I feel our style suits playing against the teams who try to play to win rather than those who are there to frustrate with a hopeful chance of a counter attack
  6. Ok by his last quarter of the match, certainly improved in second half.
  7. I felt Euan had his number by the last quarter of the match, letting him head & dropping off rather than contesting the headers & has improved since not too worried about him at left back. Hopefully Ballantyne back to full fitness at RB (dropped off by end of Clyde match) & can contain Edwards. Would go with McGill who gave them problems when came on last time & contributed to Fizz's goal, maybe bringing on McGregor if not working or last 20 mins to go at them if tight. Smith hopefully will up his game for this one.
  8. Can't believe none of the Falkirk world beaters made it in shockarooney. Well done Janny, well deserved.
  9. Although the foul or not on the keeper could be considered a crucial mistake, from his angle can see why ref gave it before ball entered the net, you could then look at his other errors of which there were many, Airdrie players clearly felt ball crossed the line from header one of goal mouth scrambles (and we are 1 up) ref gave foul on Pars keeper first half when sandwiched between two of his own players (may have resulted in a goal) Pars No. 5 not being booked for continuing to 'cuddle' Airdrie player long after foul given, Edwards should have been booked first half & would he then have not tackled Airdrie player second half or taken the sending off (thus no long throws). Its all part & parcel of the game some you get some you don't. Both teams had other squandered scoring chances. Draw fair result. Move on to next week.
  10. They obviously can't get their heads round the fact that the home stand is much larger and so crowd looks sparser when spread around, from our perspective would have said 1200 away was extremely generous, the figures I guess don't lie. Also great how the FTV highlights completely missed most if not all of their unforced errors of which there were many including the comical prat fall from their striker. The goal settled us after a threatening if unproductive 20 or so minutes from Falkirk. In the second half McCabe proved to outwit the old stager getting to grips with any Falkirk threat, the Murrayball attempt at 2-0 by McGlynn didn't work and resulted in leaving his team exposed to any injury which ultimately cost them.
  11. Unless someone comes in for them which is highly unlikely the only option is for Falkirk to buy out their contracts, would you leave your job for a drop in wages or possibly no job at all without severance / redundancy pay
  12. Arfbroath were always going to be a big ask given their incredible home form & coming off the back of Tuesday with a very thin squad. Thought both Devs were showing the affects of the injuries sustained on Tuesday and still managed to play reasonably well. Definitely missed CB at right back & Watson really struggled, also missed Rae I thought as Hutton looked a shade of the keeper he was & probably gifted at least two of the goals. Gaffer also had a poor game but then so did most of the team.
  13. Wondering if the young goalie from Celtic deal has gone now they have colts in Lowland league
  14. Some of your guys appear to do their training at the deep end of the local pool. Was right in front of me & was an obvious trip ref had no option after first booking
  15. Biggest fear going into last nights game was getting a doing & any confidence left evaporating. But credit to the lads went out & performed & what a performance. Didn't get too worried by the Clyde game due to the copious use of trialists which proved the right decision as they couldn't be used in this comp. Reckon we got the best ones signed IMO the boy from Rangers was awful. In this competition although folks might have expected better results in the earlier games we are unbeaten , conceded only 1 goal (pen) & just beaten our biggest rivals. One win or draw + Pen win away from getting out the group stages. Best start of the season in ages. For what its worth IMO most of the players brought in have been an improvement on their counterparts let go & I don't think we will miss McCann too much. Looking forward to a good start against Montrose next week.
  16. Young Kilmarnock Loanee Striker started training yesterday will he feature ?
