  1. McShane is everything that Millar isn't in that he is a good pro, young and looks after himself . Millar is a superior player though .
  2. I have a feeling that he likes the Big Macs at all times, not just the close season. A stint in the Second Division should have been enough to scare him to his senses. Now he has to buckle down and prove Fowlers faith in him.
  3. What do you mean Letheren is a step up from Clark ? Zander Clark is only 22 and should have a bright future . I take it that David Clarkson started really well as I can remember but just fizzled out ?
  4. Dundee have made some excellent signings in Hemmings, Holt , Meggatt and others . Hartley using his knowledge of lower league football and Dundee will do well 15-16 .
  5. Paton is sure to be away . Lovely skill but sometimes you need a bit more .
  6. Have just heard the latest Alive radio interview with Fowler . Interestingly, he didn't dismiss the Dobbie story put to him and by the same hand didn't say they there was contact either.
  7. I think Millar is a gamble but a worthwhile one . There is a helluva player in there . The biggest compliment I can pay to Kidd is that when he is not playing, we don't have miss him. All good news .
  8. You are not classing Millar as a ball winner are you ?
  9. Its fair to say from all the comments of QoS and Falkirk fans re Chris Mitchell that he was a far better player for us than them. In the same way that I personally say Steven Simmons was one or the worst waste of spaces I have ever seen , Alloa fans back him to the hilt.
  10. The Zander Clark situation is an interesting one . Obviously, he has done well for Queens and has been getting used to first team football . If I was him , I wouldn't want to go back to Saints and sit on the bench, higher level or not.
  11. Cheers mate . I know a few Clyde fans down here and they are good lads . All the best !
  12. Cracking dead ball delivery and was our regular right back before injury. He hasn't managed to force himself back into the team but the defence had been solid enough in his absence . Hope he does well as Chris has been a good player for us and been unlucky .
  13. I would make allowances for his ability and give him another deal ( if he wants one that is ) . A clean slate and a pre season might be be enough to sort him out but I have my doubts . Quite mystified how a full time footballer can look the same shape as an amateur one but we were pre warned. I could tell within minutes of watching him that he was a lovely footballer and many would cry out for his technical side but next stop could well be a permanent slot in Division Two if nothing changes. Up to him now .
  14. Again , see enough in Mark Millar's cameo to say he would be a real asset for us if we somehow got him match fit and in the right frame of mind. Ability wise, I see no better midfielder - outwith the big three in our league - and some of his touches when introduced yesterday were sublime . You always wander about this kind of player and if they are ever going to regularly produce what they definitely should be . Is he worth another deal ? With a pre- season behind him , I'd say yes.- just
  15. To be superior in head to heads against Hibs, Rangers and Falkirk says it all really. All bigger clubs but the first two vastly so . Even the harshest critics in amongst our own support and elsewhere would be struggling to disagree that the team have been anything other than magnificent . PS there might be a little to go yet as well. Bring it on !
  16. Slightly tongue in cheek from me DD. I am probably making excuses for getting it slightly wrong there but I do prefer to use the old grey matter.
  17. ditto - If I am wrong then it will be by a baw hair as they say.
  18. I should maybe consult the record books like a certain well known QoS contributor but I prefer a ' fading' memory .
  19. Yeh, you are correct . On second thoughts , I think we were well behind and then come back to 3-3 only to lose .
  20. I am not 100% sure but I think Suddick got our two goals in a 3-2 defeat at Stair Park. Must have been 2000-001. Can't remember that much else apart from he had a decent touch but would never be fit enough in a million years .
  21. My opinion is that Connolly''s successes in the English market were more to do with a scatter gun approach than any meaningful pinpointing of players . There were simply that many coming that the odds were some had to be decent. In Bowey, Atkinson and Weatherson we had that but that was a small percentage of the turnover . Simply , the average Unibond League player was not good enough for our old Division Two. He had far better success when he changed to the Scottish market with the likes of O'Neil, Lyle, O'Connor and McAlpine . This is no criticism of Connollys coaching abilities and of course we had success under him. Let's not forget Ronnie Bradfords role here though as he gave Connolly great backing in bringing players in.
